I do try to not get on the scale multiple times during the day (its hard but I try) because I know that it fluctuates several times during the day. I usually weight first thing in the morning. After I have used the restroom and before I climb into the shower. I want to be at my lightest for the day. I have had NSV I'm wearing my wedding band for the first time in years (got too small). My feet no longer fit in my dress shoes. I'm wearing 2 pant sizes smaller and nothing is tight on me. I managed to chaperone a lockin with the music department with of my daughters school. At a pizza place and only ate the cheese off the top of a piece of pizza around midnight to keep my energy up. While I walked the arcade for 8 hours helping keep 300 kids in line last weekend. Never could have done that 58lbs ago. I am grateful to have be on this journey. Am I perfect no but I'm better. I just love that I can be not perfect for a change and still see the scale more. The most frustrating thing for me and diets is when I'm perfectly eating exactly what I'm supposed to and busting my butt working out and not seeing the scale move. So, yeah so watching it move is entertaining to me :-D

I forgot to tell you a positive thing about a stall. Every time the scale stopped moving the inches seemed to melt away. This happens to lots of us. It's weird and doesn't make sense but a NSV for sure!

It's been a long time since I have bought new clothes besides the usual jeans, t-shirts, stretchy pants and shorts because the last time I tried to get something nice to wear to go out, I ended up staying home because everything looked so horrible on me. You see I'm a true lover of fashion and all that goes with it or as my mother used to tell me a real clothes horse! I have so many clothes that broke the rods in 2 closets, have rolling racks, clothes in boxes and enough shoes to open a boutique! At one point after a huge weight loss (gain almost all of it back or I wouldn't be here) I loved clothes so much, I went to work in a high end clothing store just so I could get the discount and I love to dress people! Sad, isn't it? Well anyway, I ordered a couple of dresses since I am schedule for some orthopedic surgery and I wanted something that was easy on, easy off for the hospital. I took a guess at the size and prayed that they would arrive in time not be too small. Guess what? They did come in time and they were TOO BIG!!! Not only that, but the one I really liked look pretty good one me! I quickly ordered a smaller size of the one I liked and now as I sit here I am thinking I probably should have ordered it 2 sizes smaller than just 1. It may not arrive in time for my surgery date and it too may be too big (I kind of hope so), but guess what? I'm so happy about it, I don't care!

I think my head is starting to catch up with my body. I am slowly connecting the dots that I have lost over 70lbs. At first people would say, you look great, you have lost weight. And I would nod and say yes I have, but in my head I still felt like a big girl. Well that mental concept seems to be disappearing. I was in walmart last night and I was actually in the junior's section fitting L(12/14). Now I don't know what that equates to in other sizes but in my world that is pretty unfreaking believable. People I am talking about Junior size clothing. I am estatic. I am wearing one of the outfits that I purchased last night, at work today and I feel that the belle of the ball. Talk about a NSV!!!!

OK, so I am a low BMI lap-band revision sleever. My biggest body image problem is my stomach. I was HUGE when I was pregnant. My stomach was ridiculously large. So, I have the dreaded stomach skin hanging down. I have never been able to see my C section scar wthout lifting up my stomach - even at my lowest lap-band weight of 176. So, yesterday I was getting dressed and I looked in the mirror and there was one part of my stomach that had pulled up enough that I could see the scar!!!!!! Not the whole stomach, but a bit of it had pulled up. UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!!! I had to look at it again this morning to make sure it wasn't a fluke. This is better for me than any scale number. My stomach is the one thing that really makes me insecure. Now I feel like there is a light at the end of the tunnel. And, honestly, I can't believe it - it's only been 2 weeks. Thanks for letting me share--- Lara

I did the BIG closet purge today . . . cleaned out ALL the 3x stuff (HURRAY!!) and organized everything else by size. I was previously wearing a size 24 jean and I got into my old size 20s . . . and they were LOOSE!! I also put on a dress I wore when I first met my husband (I think I was around 200-210 then) and it fit . . . snugly, but it fit. I'm SO excited!

Congrats Mezz! I am a pre-opper but I drink protein drinks bcuz I like them and use them as a meal replacement if I don't have time. My favorite is EAS AdvantEdge Carb Control, chocolate. It's thin in consistency, which I personally like. I like it best cold. I don't know if temperature makes a difference for your new sleevie. It hat 17g of protein, 4 carve (3g net carve bcuz of 1g of fiber), 110 calories and 3g of fat and is 11 oz. I get a box of 24 at BJ's Wholesale Club, sorry the price is escaping me at the moment. Best of luck to you and look forward to updates and NSV sharing!

Great post Sunnyd! We are learning how to live the rest of our lives in a healthy way both physically and mentally. It can't be all about the number on the scale. We have to relish all of the victories as we make our way through our journeys. I am going to stop and smell the flowers along the way and enjoy the NSVs.

I agree with cowgirl..I'm a journaling person and going back and reading stuff I've written about a year, 3 years, even 7 years ago has been a big part in why I decided to go forward with this surgery. I had myself in tears realizing I've just been spinning my wheels for the last 10-15 years of my life, trying and failing so many times. I'm so ready to GO FORWARD! My goals: 1. Reduce or eliminate my asthma medication 2. Be able to ride my horse at a trot without getting out of breath. 3. Not have to drag this weight around anymore. 4. Less or no body aches. 5. Not have my arms stick out like a linebacker when I walk 6. Wear cuter clothes, and look nice in them 7. More energy 8. Be around and active for my grandchildren. 9. Feel in control of what I eat 10. Feel small in my husband's arms  I guess these are all NSVs...I've been obese for so long I've forgotten what it felt/looked like when I weighed 116...that was in the ninth grade!!

This evening I did something I haven't been able to do for 3 years--I was able to put on my wedding rings! Not on my pinkie where they had been but on the ring finger! I took them off about 6 months into my pregnancy and hadn't got them back on until now. Makes me feel great. Now my husband can't tease me about not being married.

NSV and almost surgi-versary mini-update
favoredone posted a topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Hey Guys!! Well, it's been almost a year... I won't be at goal by wednesday, unless I miraculously lose 75 lbs in 2 days!!! LOL... anywho, I'm grateful and a little more focused now!! Hopefully, the next 6 months will be filled with sweat, loose clothing and plumping muscles!! My NSV happened last weekend when I went home to be in a wedding.. I was the MOH and had a wonderful time.. My mom burst into tears when she saw me... and my best friend almost walked past me!!! LOL... I try to keep these events in my mind as I struggle with not having lost 100#s yet.. When I put things into perspective... I'm doing darn good!! No meds, besides allegery stuff... I can wear clothes in a regular department store (which has added to my shopping addiction) and I have influenced a number of people (several co-workers) to pursue WLS to help them achieve and maintain a better quality of life.. The real update is coming on Wednesday (I hope)... Be encouraged, no matter where you are on this journey.. and remember, we are changing our lives one meal at a time!!!! (now) (before)
