Do any of you vets completely ignore this rule?

BTW, I'm a newbie and have not encountered any unfriendliness here. But I also don't speak unless asked something that I have personal experience with. Stick around and try that. I bet you'll get tons of great advice and support. Sent from my SM-G920P using the BariatricPal App I wouldn't mind "flack' from the original poster but that's not what happened Also, you take my intentions wrong...I don't write lots to hear my own voice....I was genuinely writing out what I have read, heard, been told and so on to help the readers cone to their decisions.... it wasn't to be smug or etc..I'm not like that Just the same ...chiding a bit about a difference in opinion or break in order is different then insulting someone's personal struggle... no matter what that's uncalled for to me -

@rososmom7, thank you. I do 2 Premier Protein shakes a day; one vanilla mixed in my coffee in the morning, then another midmorning to hold me until lunch, so that's 60 grams there from 5:30 a.m.-9:30 a.m. I have a 20 oz Poland Spring mixed with Crystal light after that, so 2 shakes, coffee, and Water gets me to 50 oz of water. I really try to hit my water goal by lunch so I'm not going to the bathroom all night later on! Breakfast today was on the road, Dunkin Donuts' Wake Up Wrap (peeled off 1/3 of outer white tortilla.) Lunch was 8 oz high Protein vanilla yogurt, about 2 oz granola, 1/4 cup raspberries. dinner was a grass fed uncured jalapeño cheddar bratwurst, LOL.

No, it won't. My sleeve isn't stretched. from what I've been told the carbonation is more the potential problem then anything....Also if you so compare it to crystal light, it really depends bc there's crystal light pure made with truvia which is stevia a natural sweet plant not artificial sweetener Although the truvia is combined with a tiny bit if sugar alcohol which I learned also makes me sick but that's another topic One thing to consider though is that research has illustrated that sugar vs sugar free drinks both stimulate the pancreas to produce insulin bc tge body takes it all as sugar period... It just seems ur doing urself a disservice by drinking si called chemical filled drinks, sodas etc but if nothing else is good enough or works.. idk...it is ur body You realize you're talking to a 3.5 year veteran of the surgery who has lost all of her excess weight AND kept it off? I think she's got this. yeh cause being a vet and keeping it off means you know everything and a newbie can have nothing helpful to add ...ok Usually someone with actual experience is a good indicator they may know a thing or two about the subject matter, yes. Are you for real? -
That won't hurt you like popcorn or fried chicken... Though I'm two months out and still don't eat popcorn to scared haha.... But anyways it's head hunger and i believe it has to do with hormones bc the other week allllll day I had the munchies of course I ate my Protein n veggie but still. So don't beat yourself over it just get back on the right path Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Has Anyone Been Diagnosed With Fibromyalgia Before Having WLS?

I have it and the dr said I will always have it but less stress on my body will make it 90 times better. I'm excited to see bc I'm in a lot of pain every day and refuse narcotics. But imagine all the weight we are carrying can't be better that's for sure I can't wait to feel better Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
@JUSTWANTTOSMILE good luck today! The next few days will likely be somewhat hard but that passes quickly, and what's ahead is awesome! Glad to hear the recent post-op people on the thread are recovering well. I've had a rough couple weeks -- some crazy work deadlines I didn't plan well for, and while I didn't overeat, I didn't get enough Protein, Water, or sleep. Then IMMEDIATELY after two consecutive all-nighters (in my 40s, way too old for that!) I had two big events, on consecutive nights. Overtired, not fed properly, and at events geared towards hours and hours of basically grazing? Not good. I didn't make myself sick, but I set myself back a solid week or two loss-wise. I've been holding steady at 145 for over a week now, and I have to remember the point is not just losing, but losing and maintaining, and that I was 183 just two and a half months ago for crying out loud! I also have to remember that pre-sleeve, a few weeks like the ones I've just had would have resulted in a 5-10 pound GAIN. Still, I'm eager to break this mini-stall and oh, man, the 130s sound amazing at this point!! I would love to be there by Thanksgiving (which I do not plan to observe by bingeing -- ugh!) Anyway-- keep updating! I love the low BMI threads!

This post is pretty old but I just got approved to have surgery here and I'm scared..I find barely any reviews on this place and my doctor is new to there and I have no information on him as to how long he has been doing this and etc..I need to call and ask to speak with him. But this place just looks deserted like no one goes there anymore lol maybe bc I was the last consult at 6pm but still... How did you guys surgery turn out here ??? I'm in Bc and went to Mexico. Tell.him to come with you and enjoy a mini vacation ? Sent from my SM-G870W using the BariatricPal App He's going to stay home with the kids. My mom is coming with me. My surgeon is pretty amazing and is willing to do a phone consultation, but he's not even up for that. Sent from my SM-G930W8 using the BariatricPal App

I'm pre op liquid..not allowed tomato soup and was told to stop Vitamins and stuff bc it could upset the stomach being on such little food. It's normal th be lethargic and I was told to enter true ketosis you need a ketogenic diet which is super low carb combined with high fat and this pre op diet does not truly create ketosis
-
Are you making your own or just doing pre made? I'm not sleeved yet but already sick of my Protein shakes sue to sucralose issues. Nurse suggested unflavored whey isolate.. found one by Isopure at Amazon that can go in hot or cold so that might help bc it can be added to anything and I believe it has 23 grams of protein. Not as high as say primere protein but close enough ..

4th day of preop liquids
Butterflywarrior replied to Joy@boman's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Yes bc the pre op diet doesn't create true ketosis....to do that you need low carb and high fat. I read that at multiple websites but I also asked my barriatric nurse and NUT bc I was worried due to my severe diabetes and I've been in DKA before. They both said this pre op all liquid diet does not create ketosis or at least full on ketosis so don't be concerned. The goal is to empty yr stomach and shrink your liver some -
Can eat 4oz with no problem!
OutsideMatchInside replied to mallnut's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@mallnut Basically anything that isn't a dense Protein. When you are eating meat, I seriously doubt you will be able to eat 4 ounces. 4 ounces is an expected amount to be able to eat according to my booklet, 2-4 ounces. Don't listen to all the people that talk that 2 bites BS. We have no idea what 2 bites is, and it is useless anecdotal information, not a scientific measurement. -

Hi Everyone! I have a question about insurance. My Insurance covers weight loss surgery. I just had twins in June and I've hit all my out of pockets, so I figured this would be the best time to have surgery. My insurance requires 3 diet consults with a dietician. Well I didn't lose any weight during this time. I met wth the psychologist for the evaluation and she said that I would be a great candidate. So I'm worried I won't be able to have surgery bc I didn't lose the weight.... anyone else's gone through anything similar? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

birth control after surgery and while losing weight?
111 replied to desreynolds80's topic in The Gals' Room
I take BC pills and and the husband wears condoms. I take the heavy duty pills because I would hemmorage constantly - even after my cycle should be done. I'm sure that will resolve itself once the weight comes off but I'll be turning 42 before the year is out and starting a family in my 40's sounds like climbing Mount Everest 10 times in a row with no rest.
