Ok, I'm just gonna call this "nana" puddin' cuz it tastes as satisfying to me as nana puddin' without a craptastic load of sugar. My doc wants me eating bananas and probiotic liquids or low fiber meals right now to wake up my guts and give my potassium levels a boost. And I'm pretty carb phobic...so it's a baby step thing. This is a blend of plain Greek yogurt with Cultured Cottage Cheese, some PP (bananas and cream flavor), and 1 ounce of banana sliced thin and add a sprinkle of ground cinnamon. Delicious! There were no survivors...(about 1/2c volume) -

I've had to do those low fiber diets before - the main benefit that I could see was that on their recommended list was cinnamon rolls and doughnuts! Yeah, right -- even as far out as I am... Been on the road this week, so that's the delay. Will start with Monday's as that was road food day. pre-breakfast: hard boiled egg (I usually have one first thing before taking the dogs out for their run. breakfast: whole wheat crepes stuffed with greek yogurt and berries on the road lunch/snack: small peanut butter on whole grain seed bread sandwich lunch 2 (sorta like a Hobbit - lunch 1, lunch 2..) small sliced beef and swiss on above bread with spinach leaves and avo slices dinner: southwest style salad - chopped spinach, chicken, cheese, corn, black beans, pepper, scallion, tomato, avo, snap peas, carrot, green beans, sunflower seeds (basically whatever is in the veg drawer) -

Gosh your menu at the food festival sounds FABULOUS!! Wait, why do I feel like I already said this? Was the short rib delish?? I love your choices btw! Congrats on your progress and success at 8 weeks! That's fabulous girlie!!! And 13K steps/day very impressive!! I heart runny eggs with avocado. BWLS, avocado "toast" (low carb) + egg was my favorite brekky!! I'm totally stealing this dressing recipe! I have all the ingredients and a piece of leftover salmon from last night! Maybe for dinner tonight! Yay!!! Love the idea of using Greek yogurt to replace mayo/sour cream! Way to make lateral changes to not-so-healthy recipes to make them healthy and deeply nutritious without loss of pleasure/taste!! -

Im not as far along than alot of you. I had surgery may 31st. So like 8weeks post op. I was 237 now im 201. I try to walk 13,000 steps aday. I try to get at least 3water bottles in a day and some Gatorade zero and once a week i have a sugar free red bull:) For breakfast I eat a fried egg nice and runny on the inside with avocado and 1 turkey bacon. Lunch is hummas and protein chips or a quarter of a healthy choice frozen food or tuna salad Dinner i like making homemade greek yogurt, avocado, cilantro dressing to put with fish and cut up tomatoes and cucumbers or pork with cooked veggies. Snacks are grilled zucchini and broccoli, or greek protein yogurt, almonds or a tbs of peanut butter or a few slices of jalapeno cheese or some watermellon. -

First follow up with Surgeon: Doing well so we advanced my diet to soft phase (eggs, cottage cheese, yogurt, ricotta, etc) Port sites healing well, walking enough, drinking fine etc. Told no smoking drinking alcohol, lifting things over 15 lbs. (Don't do any of this anyway 😂) Side note: Asked the question about prevalence of GERD in VSG patients and was provided with the info that he counsels patients who are considering the sleeve that there is a ~30% chance of GERD developing (~30% chance of no development, ~30% chance of it being reversed through VSG) if there was any history of reflux. I didn't have Reflux regularly prior to surgery only during my first pregnancy He said about 1/3 of people *may* develop it after VSG. I found that really interesting... Has anyone else been provided this type information? Anyways here's the food ive made/tried so far: yogurt, cottage cheese and ricotta bake (everyone else's version featured) -
Hello. Are you sure it is hunger and not an acidy feeling in your pouch? Are you on a proton pump inhibitor? Liquids won't fill you up. Once you can have things like yogurt you will feel better. Please try not to be depressed. You only just had surgery. You need to give your body time to heal. Hood times are ahead. I promise! Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app

Ok, I'll jump in. My menu for the next week or so will be kinda jacked. I'm having some let's just say, "intestinal issues" as a result of the gut surgery a couple weeks ago so am having something I don't normally--a modified BRAT diet with lots of carbolicious nonsense! So this should be very interesting how it's gonna affect my weight and rate of loss, and blood sugar. My fasting bg went from 83 to 102 in just 2 days. So yeah. There's that. LOL. My weight info is all in my left side area under my name and in my signature line. 133.0lbs this morning working on Goal #3 of 130lbs. 56 year old, 5'4" female. Here's today's jacked up menu. I'm just not hungry and tummy is having issues so it's doubtful I'll eat until lunchtime and even then, I may not get all my meals in. I may be going to the PCP about it. (click to enlarge image) B-decaff green tea L-yogurt "protein soup" with bananas and blueberries AS-chicken and rice bone broth soup D-chicken and rice with green beans BS-yogurt "protein soup" with bananas and blueberries Walk 60+ minutes today. -

Thanks! I was mostly grilled cheeses, tomato soups, reheating pizza and omelettes w/toast so the temptation was gone BUT the one yogurt parfait i prepared was what i missed 😂 Feeling a lot better today now that it has cooled down -

Heres the avocado cilantro greek yogurt dressing. Makes a little container full to last you the whole week. I only add like a tbs to my fish with some chopped up tomatoes taste very yummy. Some times i add a little chopped up cucumber as well. (I also use just a little minced garlic not garlic glove) -
Pre Operation Diet Question!

Just double check your instructions, tho. I’m on clear liquids only the day before my surgery, so yogurt would be out (because that’s a full liquid). -
Pre Operation Diet Question!
GreenTealael replied to RoseQuartz56's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
There are many variations But Not likely especially if they didnt specifically say you could have yogurt/pudding during your preop liquid diet. What does your info package tell you? -
Hello! My gastric sleeve is tomorrow, and I’m unsure if a food I like is able to be eaten today. They said I should be on a liquid diet, but I’m wondering if yogurt/pudding counts as a liquid? I ask because after my mom’s surgery, they had her on a liquid diet and gave her jell-o. Help! I just want a yogurt!

I hear ya, so many things i didnt know going into this as well. I like to make tilapia with seasoning and mix it with a homemade cilantro avocado greek yogurt dressing. Almonds and protein packed beef jerky have also been my go too. I havent tryed salad yet but grilled zucchini and broccoli are something i have alot. Chicken everytime i eat it gives me alot of chest pain so been trying to stay away from that. Fish and pork seem to go down very well. Tuna salad is good but get sick of that more than twice aweek. I have a boiled or scrambled egg most mornings. (Snack jalapeno cheese on 3 wheat thins shh dont tell anyone). I love Gatorade zero that helps me get in more liquids. Im only losing 1pound or 2 a week thought it be faster but hoping when i add in some cardio that will help as well. I bought a taebo dvd to workout too so i can do it with my kids around.. I have so much more energy now than i did before surgery. I am loving that. -
Help! Experiencing terrible cramps
Sosewsue61 replied to ToriL's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Don't eat that, it's just filler food and not very nutritious - concentrate on your protein goals and liquid goals. You are better off with ricotta bake, Greek yogurts or soups with protein at this food stage - unless you have a milk allergy or something. Cream of wheat/rice are just processed carbs - no value. If you feel you need a carb try a baked sweet potato. -

So I had same experience as @GradyCat—nothin much jacked with me except heavy calorie dense foods. My tastes did change in that I now crave healthy, clean, light foods. Still don’t eat many casserole type high cal junk—just don’t want it. Protein drinks did taste sweeter but that was easily handled. I just dilute the clear ones with water or tea and dilute the creamy ones with decaf coffee, decaf teas and Greek yogurt and cultured cottage cheese. NBD. i have a firm philosophy with my self —it’s called “The suck-it-up-buttercup” defense. I went into the surgery with a hardline attitude that I wasn’t gonna allow my new anatomy to make me its little bi*ch. So anytime a food didn’t sit well I’d set it aside for a couple weeks then retry. I can now eat all.the.foods. I knew I wanted to get in, get out and get on with living my best life and didn’t want to get stuck in the attention/seeking loop that is our pre-surgery and post-surgery life. By definition we must focus selfishly on ourselves and I wanted to minimize that phase for the sake of my rl relationships. I wasnt 100%perfect—no one is, but mindset is important and can make a difference to everything even post op food tolerances!!! -

International Cross-Country Hiking - Diet Issues
mousecat88 posted a topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
I am tentatively planning a trip to do a 5 day hike across Peru next Summer. The trip includes all meals, which is all local cuisine with local families or in small villages. I am concerned because I know I will need a good amount of protein and calories to do this hike (it's pretty intense), BUT, most foods make me very ill. I can't eat anything with flour, I am highly sensitive to anything with much sugar, I can't eat any fish, ground beef, most chicken. I can't eat MOST dairy (with the odd exception of cottage cheese and yogurt?? - cream-based anything makes me sick). I can't eat any fruit except berries without feeling sick. And all starchy veggies make me sick. I don't think I can carry 9 days (the hike is 5 days, the whole trip is 9) worth of my own food on my back with me (or through all the airports). Does anyone know what I can do??? I really want to be able to travel and do this! I think like "regular" trips I could probably get accommodation to have a basic salad or something, but this is a bit different since we will be in like.... the jungle and mountains. Do I just eat turkey jerky for 9 days?? lol.
