    NSV shout outs

I have veins you guys! Can you believe that? All I see now on my hands are veins. My belt that I purchased a million years ago when I lost weight and went down to 275 has extra holes tha tI made. Well, I have to make more holes now. That belt was from Lane Bryant and was for a size 26. I am also pass that 275 weight loss from before, WOOT WOOT! I am able to cross my legs better now. I don't know my exact size but I do have a few XL shirts that I can fit. I am too scared to go to the store to try clothes on because I don't want to be disappointed. The very best NSV is that I am happy with the face that I see in the mirror now. I hope that everyone will achieve there goals and continue to lead a healthy lifestyle. Later Losers!

Hello everyone. I hope you all had a wonderful holiday, whatever you Celebrate. My son invited us over and never called to say what time he would be done at his SIL's. I blame his wife, oh well. I saw my grandsons a few times this week. I would just be going over to see what Santa brought. They got their Hanukkah gifts from us last week. Had a super duper NSV the other night. I started PT for my shoulder and the therapist and I were talking about WLS. One of her sisters had by pass and is very thin, the other one needs surgery and she would like it but I think she is too thin for it. I would say she wears a 14-18 and her BMI is not over 35, you can tell. Well for one of the exercises she had me hold a cane behind me and said, you have no ass!!! My old ass could hold a serving tray for 100. Best NSV. Yesterday I had on a new sweat suit, bottoms size L and they were baggy in the ass after wearing them all day. Now just to get the spare tire/muffin top to leave the body, would be great. Everyone have a great weekend. The rain has left Boston and the temps are around 50. Not bad for December. The rain returns Sunday for the Pat's final regular season game. True Pat's fans don't care what the weather is. I would never sit in the rain or snow for even a super bowl game. Arlene

August post op sleevers: Check in

How's this for a NSV...went power shopping on my lunch hour (big clearance sale/no time to try on) bought a few large shirts and size 14 slacks, the entire lot has to be returned as they are too big. Started this journey in tight 2X and size 20ish. Too bad it was a one day 85% off sale.

    Krispy Kreme purchase

    Congrats on a great NSV!
  7. I'm in New a york City visiting my son for Christmas. I made the mistake of not trying on clothes before I left. The pants I brought are all falling off me! Who hoo!
  8. It has taken me a year to lose 70 of the 100 pounds I need to lose. Don't worry so much about average. Go to this link to see some non-scale victories to watch out for. It is a long thread, but will give you an idea of more meaningful ways to observe your success. http://www.bariatricpal.com/topic/276681-how-about-some-nsvs/?hl=%20nsv

Good for you!! Think that should be an NSV. Actually forgetting to be buck naked for weight
  10. Tomorrow, I check in with my surgeon, 1/2 way through my soft/purée stage. I was hoping to be down 10 more pounds but I wasn't going to stress over it. I am happy to say, as of this morning, I am down 9 more pounds PLUS I ventured into the next set of 10 digits on the scale!! WOOT!!! For work today, I am rocking a shirt I haven't worn in 1.5 years because it was too tight. Not today!! AND I can put on/off my jeans without unzipping or unbuttoning them!! Can I say I LOVE my sleeve!!?! I am feeling so lucky, I think I need to buy a lottery ticket!
  11. nsv? Can't stuff my phone in my bra anymore, it gets lost in there

Hilarious. I had to go buy new one's last weekend. The last thing I wanted to do was go to the mall. But I am actually glad they are smaller. I've always been big chested. I am so over it.

Yeah, I'm almost there! I just wish my belly would go down so I wouldn't look like a circle, lol.

  12. NSV today was I went to the gym and first did about 30 minutes on the treadmill (about 3.8 mph) then straight to 1 hour of cardio core bootcamp - Intense workout! The NSV was that yes, I was huffing and puffing but only for a few seconds, I recovered really quickly. I remember walking up 3 flights of stairs 4 months ago and I was out a breath for 5 minutes. What a difference!!!

    Should I be proud or?

You're probably not doing anything wrong. Took me 3 months to lose 30 pounds and I was thrilled. Relax and enjoy the journey. Protein, veggies, water and vitamins...that's all you need to concentrate on right now. Stay off the scale and measure your success with NSV's.
  14. @@April4 good news bud many people feel miserable, have problems lots of people post that they feel terrible, miserable with problems posts about vomiting, gas, being very tired, no energy, constipation, diarrhea, neck hurting, hair loss, Protein shakes, not losing enough weight in a quick period of time, other people doing better than they are plus many other things people (me) ;)also enjoy talking about their NSVS's (non sleeve victory) health tremendously improving no need for certain meds like diabetes, high blood pressure, CPAP getting on an air plane not needing a seat belt extender feeling like the airplane seats have gotten bigger truth is you've gotten smaller being able to sit in between 2 other people on the plane being able to walk better fitting into smaller size clothes (clothes shopping is a frequent wonderful discusssion) being able to walk past a long mirror at Kohl's and not cringing being able to sit at a booth sitting at that booth with room between your stomach and the booth not worrying that you might break a chair putting your seat forward in a car - because you don't need as much room crossing your legs tying your shoes feet getting smaller realizing you have a collar bone confidence going through the roof being able to go out amongst people not feeling self conscious more things i can't think of my memory didn't improve with weight loss people (me) feeling happy what is wrong very with that guess who have enjoyed the above happening them just a few things that you can look forward to as far as the good we have found - we need to talk about that too but that is more fun!! i'm reallllly glad you like the sleeve you are losing weight you will continue to lose more weight for the rest of your healthier, happier, longer, life who deserves it more you will like experiencing the above too bad stuff does happen that we need to talk about but the good - is very good i might have made my point much earlier and kept talking sorry, don't know when to shut up sometimes still friends hugggggs good luck kathy
  15. I have been trying to get on here for days. The page either doesn't load or a post freezes and wipes out before posting. So my apologies for not responding and being supportive. I know someone had emergency hemmie surgery, hope they are on the mend and feeling better. Prune juice has been magical. Phase 4 has been tough but having lots of NSVs - tying shoes, more stamina for shopping and doing chores, donating bags of Clothes. And last night had a really cool experience, in the ER with mom (she's ok now) and after 7 hours I had to eat something, the vending machine had a protein pack of cheese, ham and almonds 2 ounces 13 grams of protein, cold fresh delist! hubby so impressed he's ordering it for his store. The old me would have gone for the pretzels and never considered anything else. Lovely, congrats on graduating!!! May this coming new year bring everyone good health and happiness and peace on earth.

Hi everyone Happy Holidays of all! Still here I ahve a difficult time logging on to BP or writing a post that freezes, frustrating. I just wanted to add my experience with tomato juice because someone just suggested it as an alternative to the sweet options. I didn't read all my NUTs notes before I tried some V8 and ended up with a very irritated belly. Tomato juice can cause irritation, too acidic for some, so be careful. LainieG thinking of you and hope to share your sleeve success in the coming months. Losing slowly but this week had a bunch of NSVs tied my own shoes, shopped then entire mega grocery store, got rid of 4 bags of clothes, cooked 2 celebration dinners including my own birthday bash and all this while having some intense pain from 2 bone spurs and an Achilles tendon problem- not bragging about doing it just sharing how I can do life with this utterly amazing sleeve. Wishing everyone good health, peace and happiness.

NVS - Fitting in his cloths

I weigh less than my boyfriend and I never thought I would weigh less than a significant other. LOL. Love it! Congrats on the NSV.
  18. @@sonosuzy first off please put on a pair of warm woolen socks now, isn't that better? its understandable to have those thoughts, nerves etc. before WLS but - you made the wise decision to have your choice of surgery - the lapband don't 2nd guess yourself now!!! I had surgery 3 years ago i reached goal one year PO I have been successful on maintenance these past two years if i didn't have the "assistance" of the sleeve i might have gained the 105 lbs that i lost with the help of the sleeve my diabetes/insulin - high blood pressure - CPAP are all gone epilepsy meds/dosage cut in half (unexpected wonderful NSV ) now i'm so healthy and happy i could burst!!! i look cute as a button too!!!" am i happy i had surgery??? what do you think?? your surgery is on Monday try and stay calm take a nap while the doc is working good luck bud speedy recovery kathy
  19. I'm wondering if I'm the only one in a "funk" at this point. Haven't dropped a pound in 4+ weeks. (Well...I have lost...up 2 down 2 a dozen times LOL) There are moments I have tinges of regret when I realize I got this far in WW in the past. Is this it? I should also point out that if this happened to me any other time I'd say screw it and open a bag of chips. That's not happening ! My "logical" brain kicks in and says to keep with the program. This stall will break. I've had more nsv's than I can recount. I try to focus on them, not the scale. I'm also dealing with a bone spur in my hip. Going to PT. But wouldn't be surprised if I'll need surgery on it. I really don't want another surgery. Grr. It's holding me back. I'm so happy for everyone's success. Hoping I can start posting more news about weight loss soon! Later losers! :-)

    OCTOBER 2014

Ok ladies NSV time! My family and I went to Christmas Town last night at Busch gardens - I was actually able to comfortable ride the roller coaster and other rides with my oldest! I was elated to not be embarrassed by the barely closed seatbelt! Also we took a family photo with Santa and it was the first time in 8 years I didn't cringe. I am proud if it! Keep pushing through all! This is so worth it!

    Christmas party

Thank you. Here's another NSV of sorts. I went solo and opted to do so. I don't feel funny if I'm not with a guy because I know that no one is thinking I can't find someone to go with. Unbelievable how different everything is now.
  22. chicken was and still is one of the hardest things for Frankensleeve to digest. At 5 weeks, I was still eating Cream of Mushroom Soup for most of my meals. I ate Peanut Butter as well, but because of the calories in it, I limited myself to 2 tablespoons of peanut butter a day. But for the most part, I didn't eat anything else. It was months before I could really tolerate real food. After I graduated from soup, the next thing I found tolerable was refried Beans and turkey hamburger - and I ate it as my primary food for weeks and weeks. Here's my recipe: http://www.bariatricpal.com/blog/9018/entry-31168-my-favorite-mexican-food/ I've never lifted weights, but I did set a walking goal of 10,000 steps a day - starting the month after surgery. It took me a few months to reach that goal. Now I try speed walking - 3 miles a day @ 3.8 (or better) mph. http://www.bariatricpal.com/blog/9018/entry-31216-nsv-2-you-best-step-off-b-hatch/
  23. Ohhhh NSV= Non scale Victory. I had totally been wondering what that meant!! I had been brainstorming for a few months: -'Nuther Small Victory -New Stellar Victory -No Small Victory -New Sleeve Victory -Not Safe for Vooork (with russian accent) It all makes so much sense, now. Thanks!!!!
  24. @@shizwiz ... thank you! I'm taking that as a non-scale victory (NSV) -- that someone under 30 thought something I said was that funny.

    PostOp - 2 Weeks

hi! Sounds to me like you really have your head on straight. It's all about the NSV's! I can't wait for mine! Welcome to BP!! Lots of good folks here, great support group. I have to wait till January to submit for approval, but I've done my "hoop jumping" in preparation for it. So I hope mine is approved fairly quickly. I hope I have a story like yours!
