Anyone tried stomach taping or bandaging?

I wouldnt sweat it. No one will notice your skin. Dont stress over trivial BS, youre healthier and will live a more active life, dot let some skin drag you down.

    Question for ladies

Yes I'm on BC now and it does not seem to make much a difference for me unfortunately and all the other IUDs are not a good fit being as though I do plan to have another kid within 5 years but thank you for you input I'm hoping the tranexamic works for me too.

    Question for ladies

I've used trans acid before and it does work but it's not really designed for long term use. I have a Nexplanon implant which controls mine since I have PCOS and haven't had a full period yet, just spotting. If you do get heavy periods I suggest looking into BC as its the easiest way to control them. The implant, coil and pill are best but Depo has links to DVT according to research. Slippage?

I had the exact same problems you are describing. I had my band placed in 2010, lost 110 lbs, gained back about 40. I lived with reflux and choking at night bc of cost and insurance. I had to see a new surgeon at my same clinic and he just decided (without looking under flouro) I needed a complete unfill and my band had "exceeded it's life" and I needed to try not to depend on it. Grrr! I have not had a problem with reflux since the unfill and i could feel instant relief when he did it. He told me to just come back if it gives me more problems and he will remove it.It has been 1 year and 90 lbs gained back later and I am going to see a new surgeon at a different clinic. Psychological Visit

During my appointment, he asked what my energy level was like, any medical issues I already had, what is my level of family support, how do I anticipate my life changing as a result of the surgery, what were my reasons for wanting the surgery, if I am addicted to any drugs or alcohol, any history or depression or suicidal thoughts, etc... basically evaluation if I am making this decision on my own or am I being forced/pressured into it - & wanted to see if I was capable of making decisions on my own. He took separate notes on my physical appearance, my attitude that day & towards the surgery, my orientation, if I could process thoughts clearly - basically a behavioral & mental evaluation I was a little nervous bc I'd never seen a therapist before, so I didn't know what to expect - but I walked out of there 10 minutes later wondering what I was worried about! If you've decided that you're ready for the surgery & have the right mindset about it & are realistic about what your new life is going to be like, you'll pass that evaluation with flying colors!

Anyone here just waiting for approval?

  7. As a BCBS FED subscriber, that's gives me hope! I had my first appointment 28 November. I was told by the surgeon's office they'll submit everything on 28 February according to insurance time line requirements. I've never been patient, but this is particularly awful. Exhausted!

I was sleeved 1/26 and can't imagine going back any time soon. I will have too of course but ugh!! I'm only a receptionist but I am one of 2 in a VERY busy office that I'm fairly new in anyways. I help take care of 5 docs and will now have an additional SURGEON who will start 2 weeks before I go back. He can see patients up to every 5 minutes on the schedule anyways. For me, stress is a HUGE ordeal, I get headaches and want to do nothing but eat eat eat. I'm looking for another office to transfer too bc this one's not for me. The OBGYN I worked for for the last 6 years retired so I'm forced to other areas of our hospital. Ugh ugh ugh. So I feel for ya. Will be praying for us all. Amy☆☆☆

    Cancer

I've been sleeved for about month now, but I'm a throat cancer survivor. I've had surgery, chemo and radiation. I can tell you from experience that this trifecta combination was the most effective diet I ever experienced. I lost 97 pounds in about four months. I had the sleeve done because after seven years I had gained that 97 pounds back. You didn't mention the type of cancer you have. That said, I think you're going to discover that everyone's cancer experience is different. A treatment and / or side effects that bother one patient may not have any effect on another. For example, most people with my type of cancer have difficulty swallowing from the radiation burns and from the chemo. They put a PEG tube into the stomach so that you can be fed. In my case there was never an issue with swallowing. The worst part of the experience for me was the feeding tub and some associated chemo nausea. Hang in there. Cancer treatments can sometimes be rough, but they are doable. Cancer is beatable. I was a stage IV in 2010 and was declared cured n 2015. You can do it! Kick cancer's butt!
  10. Head hunger can also be when your stomach is full but you still "feel" hungry. Losing the feeling of hunger after this surgery is BS. For the guest 6-8 weeks I felt hungry 30-60 minutes after I'd eat something. I just pushed liquids after I could. I know it sucks, but it will pass. Even now I'll feel hungry at times, but nowhere near as bad.
  11. Just be carefull bc paying more does not mean better care, ive read a few stories of ppl that have gone to a more pricey dr and got bad treatment so only look at the surgeon, hospital etc. I was looking into Dr. A.C. As well but i never got my skype call, never followed up in email either so i didnt see any interest in their part and i also read that he isnt supported by this bariatric organization but ultimately do your research and good luck to you Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    No insurance route

I opted self pay in Mexico due to my insurance making me jump through hoops. I didn't have a co-morbidity that was required, other than possible sleep apnea, but it was undiagnosed. It took a month and a half just to get an appointment with them for the sleep study, and then they had to reschedule and it was another month long wait. I got fed up and started researching Mexico. I'd already tried many different 'natural' options for the 5-6 years prior and was sick and tired of playing the waiting game. I went with Dr. Illan, paid $4400, and couldn't be happier with my decision than I am.

    Bowel movements

Smooth Moves, Miralax, Colace and my prescription for Linzess and still no relief. I go every 2 weeks... I'm fed up.
  14. Let's see, starting weight 240, sleeve on 12/26/12. I'd say I dropped to 183. Revision to bypass 8/14/14 starting weight around 183. No reflux after revision. So here is the doozy, I got pregnant and had twins oct 2015. As of July 2016 I was 166. However, as of today I am back to 183 (my body is obviously comfortable here), even though I am not! I noticed weight gain from July until December (166-181). I had an upper GI done and my stoma is stretched. My pouch is fine, not stretched at all. So my stoma is rounded now which allows good to pass through too fast, so much so that I'm allllllways hungry. So now I am in the insurance stage for approval for a revision. At which time if approved my doc wouldn't either redo my bypass or staple the stoma so it doesn't gather food and push it through quickly. Revision was easier than sleeve, mainly bc I knew what to expect and the pain meds I had the first time didn't help so I knew what they needed to give me from the start of recovery. My sleeve I was supposed to do one night but bc of pain I did two. My revision was two nights bc it was a revision and they needed to see how my body would react. My second revision would be one night stay. The issue I am having now with my stoma is rare, don't let it scare u. Oh and days off of work, sleeve I did two weeks but it was over xmas vaca so I had the time and just took it. Revision I think 4-5 days and mainly bc of being tired not bc of pain. Help choosing a surgeon in MX

Is he board certified in bariatric surgery? If I paid a deposit with someone else using PayPal can I get it back? Sent from my QTAIR7 using the BariatricPal App I saw a New York Times article that recommended using an International Center of Excellence Bariatric Surgery-certified surgeon. GOOGLE "Ice bariatric". They seem to charge more. I saw a YouTube video that chronicled two refund events. Unfortunately the title did not reflect the contents of the YouTube video. In one of her experiences she got a full refund and the other the company refused to refund bc she vented on a blog ?and she advised against using Wireless Transfer. Pain where my port used to be

Hi, I'm about 7 weeks out. I had my band removed 2 months prior and don't recall any particular port area pain from that time. sleeping on either side after sleeve surgery was very hard for me in the first three weeks. Right side better than the left if I supported it with a bolster or small pillow. After it had all gotten better I was telling my massage therapist about how hard it had been to sleep on my back. She said the best thing to help with that is to put a pillow under your knees bc it gives your back the support it needs. Hope that helps! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Denied 6 days before surgery

BC/BC sucks! They gave me the run around too. Not having a decision until 3 days before my surgery, and only then because I had harassed them. Sent from my XT1585 using the BariatricPal App
  20. I'm 2.5 weeks out from band to sleeve revision. Let me just say...yay! Totally totally different. Very happy. I had a band for 5 years and the port discomfort never truly disappeared during those years. I didn't always feel it but sometimes it bothered me mostly getting comfortable at nighttime in bed. I just feel like I always knew it was there. I think the pain I'm having now is where the port used to be?? It could just be bc that's the biggest incision?? Did any of you have this?know it's still early but I'm hoping this will heal and eventually feel normal. Also this far out which position should I be sleeping in? Sleeping on my back hurts my back sleeping on my side hurts that previous port area. Sigh. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  22. In Scotland if you have had/have a lapband your automatically under consultant care and Water births are out. It's mainly due incase band slips or is damaged due to getting compressed in pregnancy. Sleeves are monitored but not high risk. I was consultant care for my delivery and had midwife do everything until I knew my daughter was stuck and forceps used. Nothing wrong with it, still a vaginal birth and only on entanox - no medals needed here. Speak to your OB - we are put onto BC the minute we see surgeon as 18 months minimum is required to heal fully and get settled into your new diet regime. Everywhere is different tho.
