3 NSVs in a 24 hour period
ISleevedIt replied to nursepez's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Nice NSVs! I went shopping today at lunch time and I found that I was able to fit into some size medium tops. It was a little snug (but passable). So I bought 2 medium tops so that they will fit me for a much longer period. I can't afford to keep buying clothes right now. I am going to have to find a thrift shop store near me. I know where donation centers are at, but not stores...lol -
Thanks so much Breakfast - 5oz yogurt lunch - 1/4 turkey wrap with light ranch, 1 piece of strawberry, 1/2 pickle spear dinner - 1/2 of a chicken taco snack - 10oz mango raspberry smoothie from Ben & Jerrys. I asked for half size so it was only 125 cals vs 250. Was my treat of the week. Lots of Water Walked for a couple hours Today I had a NSV. I went to a THEME Park!!! First time in probably 4 years, and better yet I was able to fit on every single ride. I was careful not to go on rides that put pressure on my port area. I am so happy. Will make a post about this with pictures tomorrow. Thank you all for the encouragement and I hope you all had good weekends

Post Op September Sleevers, Roll Call
Bukki replied to newgrandmother's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Was in a stall for over three weeks....finally broke this weekend and was down 12lbs !!! Went shopping in friends closet and was able to get into a size 18 shirt and pants !!! Yea NSV !! I was thrilled because last June was wearing size 28 pants.....and have pretty much gone thru all the smaller sizes had in my closet. I have been holding out buying any new clothes. I am officially down 130lbs since June 4 at my seminar weigh in, and 83lbs since surgery on Sept 18. Yes I am losing some of my hair too, but I wear mine really short so not real noticeable. -
Well, it finally happened. Three weeks later than I expected. Six weeks out and I hit a stall. Stuck at 215 for the last week. It's okay though since I added exercise to the schedule this week so my body is probably just trying to adjust. I did have a great NSV this week too. I cleaned out my closet and took two large trash bags of clothes that i will never wear again to a consignment store that sells only women's sizes 14 and over. I get 50% of the sales price. These are very nice clothes as I have to wear business dress for work. I can use the profits as credit in the store if I want. The store has really cute clothing and accessories so I think this is a good deal as I am dropping sizes and don't want to spend the money on new clothes. Great transitional clothing! I'm eating regular food now but still having a hard time getting the calories up to 800 per NUT's recommendation. Still around 600. Protein has been in the high 70's to low 80's, carbs in the 20's, and at least 64 ounces of water daily, sometimes more. Last night I had halibut cakes, rather cake (singular) since I could barely eat one. I'm not finding eating at restaurants challenging at all. There always seems to be healthy choices. I ate one or two bites of the outside of the cake which was very lightly coated with panko, and ate mostly the middle of the cake and two green beans. It was a delicious meal, although just the very small bites of the panko crust did send me to the bathroom an hour later. At least I thought that's what it was. Could also have been the rich filling in the halibut cake too. For Father's Day, I'm making Emily's Bites Lasagna Cpcakes since my husband wants lasagna. Can't wait to try them! I feel like I am in a really good rhythm now and it is great!

Just ran out on my lunch hour to d**k's Sporting Goods to get goggles for my swimming lessons.... they were having a clearance sale ( additonal 50% lowest ticket price). I purchased 3 Dri-Fit workout shirts in size MEDIUM... MED-DEE-UMMMMMMM!!!! for $6 each... I was tempted to buy more but since I still have weight to lose these will due for now.... They had a LOT of XL and XXL stuff on the clearance rack..not much in medium... So I was reminded 1 of the downsides of losing weight...the middle sizes are the first to go... the extremely tiny and the humungous clothes seem to hang around the racks a little longer, especially in stores like this...

Welcome Larae, glad your here, congrats on the jeans! HB--I console myself on the boob shrinkage by saying "Well at least my stomach is shrinking under them!" of course, this really doesn't help but I say it anyway. By the way, if anyone finds my missing boobs my husband would like them back, maybe I should set up a reward for them? :cursing: Liz--In case I forget, have a safe trip this weekend. Besty--Is your new book a text book? Christy--I am with you on the grandparents thing, my grandparents were the only stable thing in my life and they get all the credit for me not being a complete nut case. NSV-- This morning when I tried to get dressed, nothing I had clean fit. So when I got off work I went to Academy (they have really good prices on clothes) so I found a pair of Capri pants that I thought would be my new size and tried them on they were too loose! I had to go back and get a smaller size. I cant remember the last time I was in a dressing room and had to go back and get a smaller size anything! -

NSV!!!!!!!!! WOOO! Last night I was looking for clothes to wear to work today and buried at the bottom of one of my drawers was one of those pairs of jeans that I bought slightly too small forever ago and maybe fit into for about 5 minutes so even though they're probably something like 7 or 8 years old they still look brand new. Being that before I was in a tight 24 or a loose 26 I didn't these shiny new 20's (small 20's :tt2:) would fit. And as I started sliding them up my legs I thought to myself "You're just setting yourself up for some disappointment. Wait another month or so!" but those 20's kept sliding on all the way up over my butt and lo and behold, the button and the buttonhole were united easily and I jumped for joy and ran around the house screaming like a little girl! I scared my poor puppy. He ran under the bed. And my husband just laughed at me but I could tell he was happy for me  I've been in them all day and they are sooo comfy! -

Question: If my little demon kitty finds sitting at my feet to be his favorite place, does this mean I've hit another NSV moment? As in I've lost my belly so my boobs are 'hanging low' (no shelf) and instead of my food falling on my boobs, it's actually falling to the floor? Bahahaha...ok TMI I think. Melody -

I have a great NSV!! It may be a little mean spirited, but if you only knew......... Lately I have been feeling those negative mid-life crisis feelings. The ones like I still look bad and I hate getting old.........Well, last night my son showed me some pics of his dad (my ex of many years ago, very bad marriage) The pics were on my ex's step-daughter's web page and were taken this last x-mas. OMG! The man looks like hammered shit! The years have not been kind to him at all! I know it may be a little mean, but I know I have weathered better and that makes me feel so much better!!!!! -

Another NSV moment...going into your primary doc and not dreading getting on the scale and then hearing her 'gentle' disappointment that I'm still not taking care of my diabetes (read: losing weight) as I should. My doc is this soft spoken, gentle Indian woman who just makes you feel as if she genuinely cares about you and your health and I love her to death. She's been about for maternity leave since just after my band surgery so she was quite pleased to see I'd lost 35 pounds since my last visit. Interestingly, her office assistant had a gastric sleeve done the same day I had my band. She's down 100 pounds. You know, I thought the sleeve would be similar to the band since they aren't rerouting your insides around so there's no malabsorption, but she's the 3rd person I've talked to who had the sleeve and who are dealing with major fatigue and immune type illnesses. Wonder if it's because their weight loss is not as gradual since they're not spending months getting to restriction. Dunno...but I'm more than ever glad I went for the band. I took my son to lunch at Ruby Tuesday's after my doc appointment yesterday and, in the past, we'd split an appetizer, then each do an entree with the all you can eat salad bar. This time I had their appetizer sized lump crab cake and the salad bar even though my salad consisted of this tiny little pile of spring greens with a couple garbanzo beans and blue cheese dressing. When my crab cake arrived, there was a tiny little pile of spring greens on the plate...the same size as my salad! Shoot, I'll bet they would've let me put a bit of blue cheese dressing on it and I could've saved myself the $2.99 for the salad bar! Making a mental note for next time. The piles of snow are almost gone here due to the mid-40's temps and last night's rain. My fingers are 'itching' to dig into my gardens but we're still almost 2 1/2 months away from when it's safe to plant anything. I am so seriously thinking of building a greenhouse. Well, I need to stop in at work this morning and pay some bills and then I have the rest of my 3 day weekend off. I think I'll surprise my little piglet dog and take her for a walk. Now...where'd I put that leash? . -

BIG NSV! I had to share! I just hit the mother load of jeans I had stashed away in a drawer! I was going through the closet and tried on a pair of jeans I got off e-bay a couple months ago. I wanted to see how long before I could zip them ...... they fit! They are size 13 cruel girl jeans. I thought I might have a couple size 13s stashed away someplace. I started looking through drawers and found several drawers full of my all time fav brand (Rockies), but they were all size 11. Then I hit the drawer of size 13s! Rockies! They are in the washer right now! whoo hooo! -

Woohoo Christie! Congrats on your NSV! What an achievement! Crystl--happy to hear restriction is upon you once again! That's just awesome that you're able to shop at VS! That was definitely one of my most exciting milestones LOL (I have about 3 pairs of their "Pink" sweatpants with writing on the butt LOL--it's the little things!) Amy--sorry to hear you had a bad food weekend. You should be very proud of yourself that you didn't resort to the bad things that you know would go down! The band can be tricky sometimes, as we all know. Signs, hmmm. I sometimes get one hiccup when I suppose I'm "full". My problem is if I didn't have the willpower to stop eating, I could continue. I'm pretty sure I have good restriction because I can no longer gulp water, but I have no problem eating a slice of pizza every now and then (which I don't do very often) and I stop myself when I feel I've eaten a reasonable amount. Since I'm about 15 away from my first goal, I'm wondering if I should just leave well enough alone so I can maintain here or if I should go tighter. I have had maybe 2 pb/sliming incidents since my last fill on 5/20, so I'm thinking I could stand another .2 or .3 ccs, but my luck it could be too much and I'd end up having to have it all taken out. Decisions, decisions...... I hope everyone had a nice weekend!! Thanks for all the bday wishes, FB buddies :-)! -

So, I've not had a change in the scale since March 26th. Grr. I have my third fill on Thursday, so I'm hoping to see a change SOON. In times of struggle, I have to reach down/reach out to find something GOOD somewhere. So... NSV! Yesterday I ran my second 5K, and I beat my previous time. I felt so strong and powerful! My new record is 43:05, and I am so thrilled. I'm planning on a 5K every month to keep myself motivated and training. My next is May 8th. Three weeks! I also bought a bike yesterday (yay, tax refund!) so that I can commute to work (4 miles each way). My running buddy talked me into a 64.6 mile Bike-A-Thon in July also. Egads! Getting busy training NOW! -

Anne-- congratulations on your date!!! I'll be counting down right along with you! How wonderful! I was so happy to read your NSV today as well. You must be on top of the world right now. Christie--woohoo! I despise that morbid word---MAJOR kudos to you for the bmi category change!!! What a terrific milestone! Bobbie--have a blast at the retreat. I used to love scrapbooking. Now it seems with 2 kids, 2 jobs, 3 dogs and a husband that's always working, I rarely have time to brush my teeth or shower these days LOL. I hope you have a great time! Betsy--how is Mark? Said more prayers at church this morning, my dear. HB-- I was so sorry to read about the snow! We had a record year here in the Northeast (PA/NJ), so I can relate to your misery! God, I can't wait to see the population explosion at the end of this year from all the snow days LOL Leigha--I'm sure all at once...BAM! 5 more lbs! You have been a freaking weight loss power house, girl! What a great goal you've set for yourself and I have no doubt you will do it! So I was finally able to have mushies today (hey, I'll take it!) I went to church around 10:30, then we went to brunch. I had most of an eggbeater/cheese omelet, a couple bites of potatoes, one piece of wheat toast all without incident. I then proceeded to have a couple of bites of my son's pancakes and was all STOP! Lol. I am thinking it was about 8 or 9 total ounces (which my doc confirmed is just fine). Needless to say I was finished at 1 pm and it's almost 7 and I still haven't eaten anything else. I am thinking I might be at a good place (well today anyway) because I was so starving in between meals before this fill I was just looking for food. Please pray this is "the one" guys. I have about 25 lbs to go until goal and I am so close I can taste it :-)! Hope everyone had a great weekend! Back to the grind on Monday! I took Wed, Thurs and Fri off for my fill appt, 6 months post op appt and school lunch with my son, so I have had a few days off. I soooo don't want to go back!!! -
I am just so thrilled beyond words. My regular weigh in is typically on Wednesdays. I forgot to weigh in yesterday. So I weighed myself just now and I am down 50 lbs. WHOO HOO!!! Finally hit that 50 mark. I am tickled to death. I walked this morning as well for 60 min (almost 3 miles). I also did some toning when I got him on the weight machine. Forgot to post my NSV the other day. Or did I? I can't remember now. Anyway, I have a beautiful sapphire and diamond ring I bought in Jamaica two years ago. I have not been able to wear it for about a year and a half cause my fingers were so swollen. The ring was almost too small when I bought it but I was sure I would be able to wear it sooner or later. Well guess what? I got it on and it fits. WHOO HOO!! But not only did I get that ring on but I was able to wear my other rings as well. The Sapphire is on my ring finger. THe others are tanzanite and diamonds. See picture.
