Peanut butter protein yogurt. I am not a fan of yogurt, but every so often I buy it. I found a vanilla keto yogurt. It’s the consistency you of the Greek yogurts. I decided to try mixing it with peanut butter protein powder! It’s sooo good and helps with protein intake. It tastes like a dessert! -

Been doing the keto diet to lose the required weight pre-op. I tried to figure out how to get all my protein in without going over my carb limit and eating too much fat. This was seasoned chicken, shirataki noodles, eggs, and brussel sprouts. Unfortunately, I couldn't finish the plate (thus not meeting my protein goal). :( Though, I am really not sure why I thought I could! That was a lot of food for one sitting! -

Cheese Stuffed, Bacon Wrapped Meatloaf with homemade Keto ketchup (BFF made the ketchup for me and it tastes just like ketchup - actually better!) One slice (as shown) is 301 calories. I had a whole slice, with about 1 tsp of the keto ketchup (I have no idea what the caloric count of this is, so I'm just going to guess maybe 15 cals per tsp). This meatloaf was crazy filling and I probably ate too much as I am uncomfortably full. Was very yum though! -

GALS who started their journey over 300 lb+<br /> +
TX4everLinds replied to Frustr8's topic in The Gals' Room
I am finally starting to see some losses again. Just wanted to encourage those who may be stalling or feeling like why did I even do this?! I started at 301 and lost 60lbs before surgery, averaging about 10lbs per month by eating Keto. I had surgery first week of September and lost 25lbs in September. I struggled a lot with reflux and was re-hospitalized for 2 days and struggled to keep even sips of water down. This was (mostly) remedied by Rx nexium. I still struggle some. It’s a major learning curve! In October I only lost 2.6lbs...for the whole month! Dietician said I wasn’t eating enough and my metabolism was quitting on me. It’s just taken me this long to figure out how and whT to eat. Still learning! Today on November 6 I’ve already lost 3.2lbs this month. So I think my body was in shock in October and I wasn’t consuming enough. I’m excited about November and have to remember that with 25lbs in September I’m still on track to average 10lbs/month like I did before surgery. I know this will change as I get smaller but I have to keep reminding myself I WILL GET SMALLER! I’m at 215 today and looking forward to onederland! -
What’s the skinny on “excessively malodorous flatulence”?

I love your replies to my posts, man! It's a relief to know the issue can subside after a while. That motto holds true for the keto world too....never trust a keto fart! I'm mostly fartless now though and have been for a while, but if I change my MCT products to a new brand or something, the gurgles can hit unexpectedly. Usually one Imodium will calm it down in about 30 min. Since you're so helpful, what's your take on pills...literally? How soon, if ever, can someone begin to take capsules or tablets? I take an anti-depressant daily and the tablet is about the size of a piece of couscous, very tiny. Also, I take electrolyte salts in capsule form to ward off kidney issues and muscle cramps from keto. They're your standard size capsule and I'm usually taking 3 at a time twice a day. I also have a liquid electrolye supplement that you can squirt into about anything, but you don't quite get the same dose as the capsules of salts plus it makes your drinks extra salty tasting. For future bariatric vitamins I'm looking into the Tespo thing for the all in one shot option, but what about everything else? -
Lies to tell people about what surgery I am having
Sandra Nuelken replied to a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I said I was doing a modified Keto diet, and I just wasn't hungry with it. I only had a few very funny happenings. Toward the end of the year, one of the students asked if I was dying as I kept getting smaller. Another thing that happened to me was my stomach was growling all of the time. During state testing when everyone was absolutely quietly working on their tests off would go my stomach for about 2 minutes. They were used to it so they tried to not laugh. When I told them I had to lose weight for health reasons they were very supportive, unusual for middle school students! Good luck!!! I'm now waiting for my insurance approval. -
I have been reading on YahooBandsters & came across this diet that a Dr. tells all his patients to follow & apparently he has a very good success rate. I thought it was interesting. Dr. Foxkin's High Protein Diet for Gastric Banding patients. It is based on a baseball diamond working together. Home plate- is getting banded and then working on getting proper adjustment. First Base- Use an appetite suppressant to relieve hunger and carbohydrate cravings. Use Phentermine or Phendimetrazine. For a month worth it was $23 self-pay. Second Base - It is a high protein/almost no carb diet. He describes it as Atkins minus the salads. He recommends patients stay on the diet until they reach goal weight, which usually takes only 9-12 months. No milk, avoid fruits, veggies, and grains. Be careful of hidden carbs in sauces or breaded products. (Anyone who is commited to a high protein diet has to follow these rules to the letter. It takes 2 to 3 days for the body to switch to fat burning. Consume a lil' carbs and you are back to a glucose burning metabolism and can lose the effect of the 2 or 3 days of fat burning. If you eat good during the week and eat normal on weekends say bye-bye to the drastic results. You can use something like Keto-stics to make sure ketones are present in your urine.) Third Base -Exercise intervention on a daily basis. They recommend Curves, Curves look-alikes, or anything aerobic done for at least 30 minutes per day. No matter what level you are at it is important to just start moving even seated exercise videos can be a great place to start. Using all the above together the next step is Home plate! Home plate - Is reaching your goal. He considers a Home Run getting to a size 9 or smaller for women. (He is known for liking his patients very skinny. He wanted me to shoot for a size 6 but I haven't been that since third grade. I was very happy at a 10/12 when I lost to goal before but we agreed I'd shoot for a size 9. Hell I'd love to get to a 9 or smaller but I don't want to set myself up for disappointment.) He says most patients will lose at least 15 lbs a month with the band adjusted right and following the Foxkin plan. He says even non-bandsters have good luck with it. He also recommends maintaining adequate protein, Vitamin and mineral levels for optimum weight loss -90 or 120 grams protein supplement (unless your doctor thinks you need more) -Vitamin and mineral supplement like the pink bottle from Vita4Life. Although he thought the GNC orange liquid multi-vitamin and mineral supplement (I think I'm going to use the orange Centrum chewables next) -Calcium Citrate 3500-4500mg

My surgery is scheduled for Tuesday as well! Everyone keeps asking if I'm nervous. I haven't been nervous for the surgery at all, but I have been more worried about failing at the diet changes needed. So far I am killing this preop liquid diet though, so that has helped me feel more confident. My only issues is that I have some sort of rash or break out developing on my face and back. It doesn't itch like people say the keto rash does, but the one on my face kind of burns like a sunburn. Not sure what all that is about. Looking forward to seeing everyone's journey!

400+ pounds?
yerawizardamy replied to shannonlarson209's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was 470 at my highest, and 440 day of surgery. I have my one week post op appointment tomorrow so I'll update with any loss since surgery. As a side note, I'm convinced that 30lbs pre-op weight loss is wrong. I must not have been on the scale properly. I only did the Keto/Atkins diet for 2 weeks and a 3 day liquid diet. Most people on a 2 WEEK liquid diet barely lose that much! I guess I'll find out for sure tomorrow. ???? -

This is basically a variation of my recipes I developed on Fluffy Chix Cook years ago. It always aggravates me when cooks don't give the inspiration link who inspired their version. Yes! The egg foldover! Love those. But I actually made my original psylli wrap for this one. I'd made them last week and so have them hangin' around lurking and acting shady. Adding the psyllium husks (whole, Now brand) to the egg whites and letting them chillax then frying in a pan til they dry out makes them very tortilla-like. You can even nuke them in 15 second bursts on a paper towel until crisp. Turn them once or twice to dry them on both sides. And you have the equivalent of a psyllium cracker that works for everything from Mexican to Mediterranean. Here's the recipe for the original: https://fluffychixcook.com/basic-psylli-wraps-low-carb-gluten-free/ Here's the link to the recipe index. I have a bunch of versions of this that make it fluffier using different low carb keto ingredients like coconut flour, oat fiber, pork rind crumbs (sssshhh don't judge). Almond Flour Cinnamon Rolls – Low Carb and Gluten-Free Tender, moist, and perfectly cinnamon-y with a biscuit-like texture, these cinnamon rolls are a sweet keto treat! Course Breakfast Cuisine Breakfast Prep Time 25 minutes Cook Time 20 minutes Total Time 45 minutes Servings 8 cinnamon rolls Ingredients Dough: 2 cups almond flour 3 tbsp granular Swerve Sweetener or other granulated erythritol 3 tbsp unflavored whey protein powder 2 tsp baking powder 1 tsp baking soda 1/2 tsp salt 1/2 tsp xanthan gum 2 large eggs lightly beaten 1/4 cup butter melted Filling: 1 tbsp butter melted 2 tbsp brown sugar substitute I used Ideal 1 tsp cinnamon Cream Cheese Icing 2 oz cream cheese softened 1 tbsp powdered Swerve Sweetener or other powdered erythritol 1 tbsp heavy cream 1/4 tsp vanilla extract Instructions Preheat oven to 325F and grease an 8-inch round cake pan with butter. In a large bowl, whisk together almond flour, Swerve, whey protein, baking powder, baking soda, salt and xanthan gum. Stir in eggs and butter until dough comes together. It will be quite sticky. Turn out dough onto a large piece of parchment, and then pat into a rough rectangle. Top with another piece of parchment and roll out to about 10x8 inches. Peel off top piece of parchment paper. Brush dough with melted butter, then sprinkle with brown sugar substitute and cinnamon, going almost right to edges. Starting with the far, longer edge of your dough, gently lift away from the parchment and roll up tightly towards you. Pinch the seam to seal. I followed this recipe: https://thebigmansworld.com/keto-birthday-cake-recipe/ Pro tip: once you have the batter together if it's chunky or not incorporated at all, put on a pair of food gloves and break it up manually with your hands so it's completely soft and pureed. I find it makes for a better crumb. I used vanilla bean paste and fresh vanilla beans instead of extract too. Flavor is much better. Sent from my SM-G975U using BariatricPal mobile app -

Turkey & cheese sandwich on keto bread. The log says “wheat bread” but it’s their new white bread (it’s just not in the database yet). As usual I use only one slice of bread and slice it into two. Also this sandwich was clearly meant to be a salad in another life. 😂 I’m always shocked when I see that it’s only ~300 cals for this whole thing -

That Everything but the Bagel seasoning is the best! I still have a hard time with anything bread related, keto or otherwise 5 mo out. I get my everything bagel fix by sprinkling this seasoning on cottage cheese. Sounds crazy. Tastes like everything bagel with cream cheese, yum!!!
