I am in the same boat, same height and same weight loss, I stopped loosing around 9 months, it has been two years, I have maintained the weight, I still usually eat under 1000 calories and I do not loose, I have 60 more I want to take off. My hair did the same but finally coming back, I had a lot of hair so it looked straggly but didn't look bald, after 2 years it is getting more full.

Loose skin causing pain in tail bone area?
STLoser replied to Puffy-no-more's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yeah, I did not expect this, because I have a big butt even after losing 157 pounds so far. However, my tailbone does hurt if I sit too long now. Today I had Umbilical Hernia repair, and my surgeon was behind schedule so I had to wait a long time to go into surgery and the stretcher was killing my butt! I don't have loose skin I'm the area of my tailbone, mine is lower on my butt at the top of my thighs, but it sure hurts anyway! I've been thinking of getting a donut cushion. Reactive hypoglycemia, anemia, and PS updates
WishMeSmaller replied to WishMeSmaller's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Typically, probably so, but I was very thin prior to surgery, so total weight of skin removed was less than 2 pounds and I got some back with the breast implants. Prior to PS my weight was 132. About 5-6 days after surgery my weight was 136 (water weight from IV fluids and swelling). Now at 3 weeks post-op I am 129. 🤷♀️🤷♀️ -
I have been stalled for about 6 weeks. So, from about the 5.5 month mark until almost 7 months out from bypass. I don't know what to do to break this stall and it's starting to feel like maybe this is just the end of the weight loss from surgery? I am down 73lbs which I know is a lot, but I still have a lot to go. At 5,2 I should be 110-130 and that's 80-100lbs away. Any suggestions? Encouragement? Also, I am loosing horrendous amounts of hair. Have been for almost 4 months! I thought that was supposed to end after 3 months or so of loosing hair.

Reactive hypoglycemia, anemia, and PS updates
WishMeSmaller replied to WishMeSmaller's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Maintenance…🙄🤦🏼♀️ I reached goal about 4 months ago. I have continued to lose since then. I have been trying to stop/slow weight loss for over two months now, but my body does not want to stop. I am very fortunate that my pain was minimal and manageable. I walked 3 miles over the course of a day about 3 days post-op. I was very uncomfortable due to sitting on the loose skin on my butt prior to surgery. So glad it is gone. The rest was cosmetic only. 😊 -

Wouldn’t it be typical to loose weight after skin removal? -

You look great! It's nice that you didn't have a lot of pain for very long after surgery. I don't plan to get plastics unless I am uncomfortable physically from loose skin, mostly because I'm so scared of the pain after surgery. Also, the wounds look so icky to me! I get grossed out by stuff like that really easily. Lucky you have a wound care nurse to tend to you. How long were you in maintenance before your PS? -
Hello, Take a deep breath. It's ok 🤗 This is scary. Have you've called your drs. Office and see what they think?? And your skin could be just in the healing phase. Will get itchy when healing. My wound areas are a little itchy also. Your hot and old, do you have a fever? The protein part can be tough- do you like the shakes- can try changing flavors too. Don't worry sweetie- you'll be fine. I would definitely call your Dr and talk to them about what's going on. Hang in there. Everything will all work out. 🤗❤️

Loose skin causing pain in tail bone area?
Recidivist replied to Puffy-no-more's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
One surprise for me was that it was painful to sit for long periods of time after losing over 100 pounds, particularly on hard surfaces. I don't think it was loose skin--it was just the fact that I no longer had all the fat back there to act as padding. -
Loose skin causing pain in tail bone area?
Puffy-no-more posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey everyone. I have tried to research this but can’t seem to find much info about it and am wondering if anyone else has had to deal with this. I lost 137 pounds since my gastric bypass in feb 2020. I have a lot of loose skin that I’m starting to look into plastics to take care of. But one area that just kind of started bothering me a couple months ago is my butt. I find that I have to be careful how I sit and that I can’t really “rock” from side to side without it feeling like my tailbone is rubbing over something and causing a pinching sort of pain. Like if I’m sitting in my car and we take a turn, your body kind of naturally goes with the turn but I have to hold myself steady or I get this pain. Even laying flat in bed, I can feel this pinching pain and I have to be careful of how I move. I’ve noticed it like I said for a couple of months but it just hit me the other day, is this because of my sagging loose skin back there? Am I crazy? Has anyone else had this issue? I’ve felt this before. if so, I’m wondering, besides manually separating my butt cheeks and skin (tmi sorry) is a butt lift the only way to take care of this? Will a butt lift take care of this? I don’t know but I just wanted to see if y’all had any thoughts on this. thanks in advance! -
My pale skin means sun screen and sun avoidance. I have had chronically low D for 10+ years and taken the 50,000 IU twice a week periodically. I now maintain with daily 2000 IU. If OP is taking 10,000 IU daily and still running low, it would suggest some absorption issue. Definitely worth a talk with the doc as D is super important for immune health.

I haven't had surgery yet, but about 6 months ago I got a treadmill and I went from being sedentary throughout the whole pandemic to using the treadmill every day for more than an hour every day, usually at an incline. I got bursitis in one hip, which is just an overuse injury. It could be what @Arabesque said, but if you went from not walking too much to doing 7-9 miles every day in a short period of time, it could be just overuse. Also, like @Arabesque said, it could be your shoes. When you lose weight, your feet can shrink and that can make your shoes too loose. I hope you can find a solution! There are good videos on how to stretch hip muscles, you can try that too.

How do you maintain your weight loss?
lizonaplane replied to IcanMakeit's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Congratulations on losing your re-gain. I can't really offer any suggestions since I haven't even had surgery yet, but I know that some people increase by 100 calories every few weeks till they stop loosing. -
Texan here and we're at a point where we're inching into our hottest months. I can't say as I have an intolerance to the heat or sun, although I am rather fair-skinned and don't often spend a lot of time out in the sun anyway. As someone mentioned above, I can say that I'm rather cold intolerant. Even at 3+ years out, I am often cold and am glad we relocated to a warmer state. I don't think I could tolerate those midwest winters anymore.

6 weeks out - Expectations
SamanthaC12 replied to SamanthaC12's topic in Endoscopic Sleeve Gastroplasty Forum
So for me, my BMI was a bit lower than what most doctors would consider for the VSG surgery. I really didn't want to go that route anyway. So, I was excited to learn about the ESG. It took me a LONG time to get my expectations in line. My friend had the gastric bi-pass and loss massive weight very quickly and I guess I had that in my head. But, she started out 100 pounds heavier than I did. While logically I knew I wouldn't drop weight that fast, somehow I kept being disappointed by slow and steady progress. Even if I'd qualified for the VSG, I'd go the ESG route again. I'm still 20 pounds from my goal weight, but I'm fine with that. I've gone from a very tight size 16 to a comfortable 10. The most important thing is I'm comfortable in my skin for the first time since my early 20's. My advice is don't wait. You can debate for another year and it will be putting your life on hold that much longer. You likely know in the back of your mind which route is the way you want to go. Pull the trigger and get things moving. Set realistic expectations. Do not expect this to be an easy fix. Instead of thinking of it as making weight loss easy, think of it as making weight loss completely possible and within reach. It will be hard and you will have set backs, even early on. This group helped me so much knowing it was just that, a small set back. This is by far the best thing I've ever done for myself. Either route you choose will change your life for the better. Good luck! -
Lifting weights. Collagen. And skin care. Doesn’t mean you won’t have lose skin. Helps reduce the amount of lose skin. This is coming from someone who started very heavy (320).

May Surgeries - check in!
Mommy wants to be able replied to ChunkyCali's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Ahhhh! 2 days in to puréed stage…. I’m cutting up a rotisserie chicken for my kids and I just couldn’t resist…. a nibbled on two pretty decent size pieces of the chicken skin! I did chew it thoroughly (I wanted to have that taste in my mouth forever 😆). Didn’t feel sick or anything afterwards but when I looked it up my God the protein is at least high but the fat is thru the roof. I caved! This soon! I had to confess. I drank a ton of water afterwards and just made my last meal of the day a little bit of soup with protein powder added. Ugh I’m disappointed in myself 😔. I won’t go off the rails or anything I just needed to have a taste 😔 any encouraging words?? -
I had my revision DS surgery last June 3 20201. Had a blockage from surgery on June 4th stayed in the hospital for 3 weeks. Just had another blockage 2 months ago and had surgery again. This time he removed the blockage and a ton of scar tissue. Well, my big problem is I have lost 215lbs. I started at 565lbs and am down to 350lbs. I am going nuts, I can't loose another pound to save my life. I tried the whole Krispy Kreme thing it was a no go. I am doing premier protein shakes. They told me to do 80mg of protein a day, but I cut back. I don't feel like I have lost a thing. I had plans by now. Skin removal, boob job, and neck fixed. Now I am a failure. I feel like my family looks at me as if I wasted my chance, like I did with the gastric bypass 10 years ago. I haven't. I take my vitamins and do everything right. Is there a diet pill or something someone recommends? The only weight I lost was a month ago when I got direaha for 4 days straight. 😪 thanks Jamie

You said it yourself: it was one of the hardest thing you’ve ever done. You need to keep reminding yourself of this because the hard work doesn’t end. The battle continues. You never get rid of the cravings or the emotional drives to eat or the old habits & the temptations to eat are always around us. We just learn to recognise them better & develop strategies to manage them. People who say the surgery is cheating or the easy way are coming from a place of ignorance. They don’t know & don’t understand which is understandable if they have no point of reference. Then there are those who have weight issues but simply are not in the mindset to be proactive about their weight loss & they are critical (or envious) of those who are. People never say to someone who joins a gym or uses a personal trainer that they took the easy way out. They congratulate them. Yet the PT & the gym memberships are just tools too. If you don’t use them & take advantage of the benefits they can offer nothing will change. Enjoy your success. PS - I have loose skin but I’d rather have that then be obese. Clothes cover it. The only person who really sees mine is me. The other person who sees yours says you’re beautiful!

10 months out and i still freeze when people give me compliments, I smile and say thank you. I feel like a imposter, loosing 100 pounds has freed me to be healthier and to hang out with my kids, so many good things have happened, yet I still feel like a fake for taking the “easy “ way out it was one of the hardest things I ever did was and trying new things wearing skinny jeans, walking working out not feeling self conscious about wearing a swim suit, I am a bit self conscious about saggy skin, but my husband says I’m still beautiful. No I need to try to accept that myself . Unfortunately he has gained some weight since I lost weight, and he is a bit more negative the he used to be, even his mom said dude chill out and that was eye opening to hear my mother in-law say. We signed up for a gym membership for the summer. I will try to go there more often. Thanks for listening any advice that helped you emotionally or otherwise TIA

High Compression Work out Clothes No more chaffing
Betty1971 posted a topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
OK folks I am not trying posting this to be saleys! I have been so disappointed in so many clothing lines in clothes. I cannot find clothes that have decent compression that hold in all this stinking skin while I work out. After a few washes its like I may as well go to Walmart or target. I am so sick and tired of buying workout clothes to throw them away after a couple weeks because I am shrinking in size and they are losing their stretch and the compression is lessening. Well I found a brand that is straight up a god send and I am going to post a link here. Right now they only sell ladies clothes but I believe they will sell a mens line down the road. I bought a crap ton of their stuff and they did send me some discount codes so if you want to save 25$ off any purchase just use SHARE25 in the coupon at check out and you can have 25 dollars off your purchase. I am super impressed with every single thing I have bought. I wash in cold water and hang them up to dry and they haven't lost their compression or color at all!!! They are true to size and I really cannot say enough about how they hold in all the skin, I haven't had any trouble with chaffing while I run or ride bike (sorry if that is TMI) but that was a problem with all that skin before. With 80 pounds lost that is an issue.....Hope this helps anyone looking for high compression work out clothing!!! https://savvi.com/savvikrenzy -

Good Morning!! I’m just figuring this whole forum thing. I had my surgery on 06/08/21. I was also menstrating when I had my surgery so not fun. Getting prepped for surgery was a little nerve- wracking. I was nervous of course and when then started trying to put my IV in wasn’t a fun time lol. I am left handed and wanted the IV to go in my right arm so I could have mobility. So the nurse warmed both my arms with warm blankets. She had found one in my right arm right in the fold of my arm (not ideal)... thought was all good but when she tried letting the fluids pass through nothing moved. She discovered she missed my vein. Such a bummer because then I started dry heaving. After she took all of it out and tape etc. I needed to fan myself trying not throw up. Thankfully she asked another nurse to try and she was awesome found one in a more suitable place in my right arm. From that point on I was calm and ready to go. Once this was done. The anesthesiologist and OR nurse picked me up and they took me to the operating room. There the anesthesiologist was like I’m going to give you something to calm you and then something to make you sleepy. Lol I kid you not I was out in a snap. Next thing you know I woke up very groggily in the recovery room. I never went to sleep after waking up until went home the next day. Throughout my stay at the hospital I lapped the halls there at least a 100 times through all hours of the night. One of my worst struggles was the 1st nurse was like if I didn’t urinate within a certain amount of time they would have to straight catheterize me. It happened and it was not fun However the nurse I had on the next shift helped me tremendously she was like don’t worry about it just try in a few hours. Which I did at that worked for me. Ok skipping some stuff I get home and I’m on clear liquids and had a BM the next day totally fine. But now it seems when I pass gas there is like diarrhea not a lot.. I get nervous if I feel a fart coming. starting full liquids today including plain yogurt and protein supplements (shakes). I have never posted anything on a forum so please pardon me if I wrote too much. I guess my question is...Is it normal to be bloated still and having little bits of loose stools? Also sleeping is not that easy.
