  1. Ok' date=' so let me fill you guys in. So you all know me as a straight talking person. I say what i believe. I make no apologizes for the most part, but sometimes i do go to the extreme and when i do, i am quick to apologize.

So this am i got to work at 7am and made two pots of coffee for the office. I do this because i'm first here and i LOVE coffee. Then i check emails, FB and LBT. Sometimes i check to see who is in Chat.

This morning i check chat and a female was in there... so i said hello. went something like this. she posted that she had lost 130lbs and that she had to get her band removed because of a slip. She wanted to know if anyone would go back to band or get sleeve instead. so i said that i would go with the sleeve. she asked Why.... I said because i was at the weight i felt good at and would not want to risk slip again.. if it did happen. So i asked her how did her band slip... she said from losing weight too fast.... I said Really.. never heard of that. She said, well what did you hear that makes a band slip... I said what CG said... pretty much... Throwing up and sometimes hernia... etc..... She said, Well i have NEVER gotten sick and i don't have a hernia.... i said... well if that's what your doctor said... then ok...... She then freaked out on me and said that she was finished with this conversation and that jealousy was a sickness and i need to seek medical help....

and then she ran out like a dog with it's tail between her leg before i got to respond..... REALLY.....[/quote']

How did she get Jealousy out of that .??!?

  2. I understand why people don't admit to having Lapband and I won't criticize that choice but if asked for my opinion I think it is more than us our own business. I know I would have appreciated knowing I wasn't so alone earlier and feel obligated to let others know it's okay to seek medical help and they shouldn't feel guilty but they should be prepared.

I agree !! Although I feel a bit defensive about the band I tell people who ask. I have not spread it on FB like I do for other things. But my hope is to let people know there is hope out there and they are not alone. Right now I am under the microscope cuz I started out great but now I'm not losing. But I will refocus and get it done, partly because I have to be accountable to myself first, but also to the people feeling hopeless out there.

  3. OUCH !! LoL !!thank you for the A$$ kicking !!! I have not been exercising regularly, which I will restart tonight,I've been drinking my calories a lot that also stops today, I've learned how to " eat around" the band , which I will be watching for, but its a little harder but I will work on it. I also have not been consistent on this site being inspired or pushing others. I use to live on this site !! I do not blame the band at all. I understand it is a tool and I have to work it. But I had it really easy at first and I didn't really do anything for the weight to come off.Now I know that was the low hanging fruit and the real work has to begin !! :-)

  4. Gained 7 lbs after a long long still . Pre op 3/23/12 started at 339 lbs . banded 4/6/12 current weight 279 lbs. that's 60 lbs in 1 year !! YAY !! BUT i lost most of that in first 6 months and was on what I thought was a long plateau !! My lowest weight was 272 mid February. Today 279 !! I've been on this site long enough to know what went wrong and what I need to do to fix it !! So I just need somebody to kick my A$$ " yell" PUSH KESHA !! shake IT OFF !! GET UR BUTT UP !! MOVE !! NO EXCUSES !!

  5. WOW WOW !! Absolutely stunning !! :-) congratulations !! Your post were my inspiration when I was prepping for pre op last year.I started strong but fizzled because of a couple of traumatic " life" incidents over last summer and fall. I came here tonight looking for that spark , I think I just found it with this post. Good luck with your Tummy Tuck and next phase ! :-)

  6. Slow turtle? Try two years December 21....but... I'm down 113 pounds 11 pounds to goal. I'm definitely not caught up with size. Started in a 24' date=' tried on a size 11 bootcut jean this afternoon and thrilled I could wear them (I had originally brought to the dressing room a size 13 jean) whoa baby I thought!!!! Just to add the slow turtle wins the race![/quote']

You know you're skinny when your clothes sizes switch from even numbers (22/24) to odd numbers (13) :-)

  7. That's what u thought but realized this board is all about the lap band. Didn't want to be ousted! :)

Unlike other sites (sleeve) we dont oust people with other surgeries .We welcome anyone with any WLS.the decision to do any surgery is very hard.and we all need support on the lifestyle changes and ups and downs.many of the changes inneating and the emotional stuff we go through is the same and we need each other...goodluck in your journey !!
