Sugar was my problem also but I kinda dealt with it doing Atkins before the band but I still crave it.I try to do a lot of sugar free sugar substitute which people talk about me for because if the " dangers of aspartame" but I have to handle one demon at a time.dropping the sugar lowered my blood sugar insulin levels and weight.as I get more in tune with my band I may try to decrease the amount of sugar substitute but for now this is how I roll.I do eat a lot of protein though .

Sorry i hit send accidentillay . Anyway I thought that all WLS was punking out ! So I successfully did Atkins lost 50 lbs but quit once I hit a plateau .fastforward 3 yrs 2008 back up to 291 got pregnant had a baby .6 weeks after delivery I'm aback down to 291. Then I dieted my way up to 339 lbs.I told myself I did not want to be fat at forty .I turn 40 this October 2012.Also now had a toddler boy I have to chase around .So I did more research on all the WLS options. And decided on lap band for some of the same reasons, no re routing , reversible, and the eating plan resembled Atkins the only diet I ever lost weight with.there were other things but that's the main things.:-)

In 2005 Ihit 303 lbs blew my mind I researched the band but felt it was punking out !

Congratulations ! Yes there are healthy options on the cruise but also a lot of non healthy stuff.it's all in the mind .I think if u stick to the band rules of protein first then veggies then carb and don't drink with ur meals u should do ok. If hang around the " desserts around the world " buffet the whole trip it will be all bad. Any body thinking about going. I think the best thing is to go to the sit down restaurants and minimize the buffets.:-)

I understand being nervous just follow your dr orders and there is a lot of support on this site.my doctor said vomitting is never Ok and if it happens to come in immediately.so it's also about not going months without seeing if doctor and dealing with issues if they arise.

Even though I post just about everything on FAcebook I neglected to post that I had surgery.I think because of some of the same reasons.I didn't want to be judged or having people watch every bite.but now people are starting to notice the weightloss and " I had Lapband " just comes out my mouth . I still haven't posted it but I do tell if people ask.

WOW ! Sorry to hear that but glad you are taking control.it seems like your kids can hear bad news rather u go under for lap band or brain surgery.I think the lesser of the two is Lapband.I have not heard of anyone dying while getting a Lapband placed.I think it's worth it for you and your children .good luck !
