  1. If your band is that tight how did you eat 2500 calories? I don't think you will have to eat 1200 calories for the rest of your life. I think once we reach our goal we will be able to eat more and maintain our weight. I think it will always be a matter of making healthy choices. I mean, If I'm going to have a daily cappachino and a daily icecream, I am probably going to gain weight back. But if we keep filling up on healthy foods my thoughts are we will have to eat more than 1200 cal. to stop losing weight. I think the answer will be, everything in moderation. We can have those splurge days but need to eat sensible most of the time. Just my thoughts, I've wondered this too... Continued good luck to you. Sounds like you are working your butt off at the gym!
  2. Neither can I! I just can not get a scrambled egg/omelet to go down. I find that weird but I can't.
  3. Yes, I feel full... just like before I was banded. I am one who can't overeat, if i over eat it is just like being stuck and I throw up. I threw up a lot for the first 9 months. Every fill was learning to take smaller bites and eat slow all over again. My bites are about the size of a blue berry. You get used to it. At first I thought food would never taste good again with out that big mouth full, but really. I pretty much feel just like I always did. I get full and satisfied. Haven't been stuck and thrown up in a good 3 months. (Think I was a slow learner) Congrats on the band and good luck on your journey!
  4. I really didn't have cravings for a long time. Now I seem to think about food all the time. Not in a bad way, seems like I'm always planning what I can eat and the protien and calories in it. I've already got tonights supper entered in my daily log... LOL! It seems to help keep me on track! Good luck on your journey!
  5. Can NOT get the scale to move!!! Been exercising and eating right. I haven't weighed in the 200's since I was in High School (30 years ago). I just want to weigh 299!!!!! Enough already!. Just checking in at 301 (still)
  6. You should be able to eat solid foods. Glad to hear you are seeing your Dr. Good luck to you!
  7. Wow... 5 days on liquids. I only have to do 24 hrs. I'm guessing that is why you are so hungry. The liquid goes right through your band so you never really get "full". It should get better when you are back on solid food. Good Luck!
  8. You're young, and not terribly heavy, I would think the excess skin wouldn't be much of an issue. Make sure you exercise, that will help tighten it up! Good Luck on your journey!
  9. WOW.... great job!

  11. I was terrified, to the point I seriously thought about canceling. Not a single problem. Could not have gone smoother. I wish you the best, enjoy the journey!
  12. Pasta is not all bad. Fair amount of protien. One cup... no big deal. I'm a calorie counter, not a carb counter, so I eat pasta once in a great while. As long as I stay within my daily calorie intake, I don't rule out any food. Good Luck to you!
  13. I agree, change up your routine. Try an new exercise or if you usually do it in the morning do it at night. I have been told our bodies adjust to the same ole same ole, so do something to mix it up. Also, make sure you are eating enough so your body does not go into starvation mode. I think a lot of us eat between 1000 and 1200 calories a day, and make sure you are drinking your Water. Welcome to Lap Band Talk, and continued good luck to you!
  14. What the heck... well, I would think things could only get better. Good Luck to you!
  15. you've done a great job. Ignore the negatives and just focus on the positives. Remember, we all hit plateaus... some times they last for weeks or even a couple of months. You've lost a lot of weight, maybe you are in a plateau. Maybe you should try changing things up. If you are doing the same exercise every day try something different. Don't let people bring you down, it's not worth it! Keep up the good work and keep doing what you're doing, eventually the weight will move. Sounds to me like you are doing all the right stuff!
  16. I noticed more restriction with each fill but it took a good year to get enough restriction that I only eat 1 cup of food at a meal. It will come.
  17. #1 - quit drinking with your meals. you're washing the food through faster so you are not getting full and quitting eating. #2 - you can eat anything because you are washing it through by drinking. Stop drinking with your meals. Restriction takes time, I had some restriction from the start, but not true, can only eat 1 cup of food restriction until 1 year after surgery, I still lost over 100 pounds during the first year. I maybe ate more than I should have at times but I made healthy choices. (and I never drink with my meal) Restiction will come, it takes patience. You would really have to stuff yourself repeatedly to stretch your pouch. If you do not have great restriction yet, the likely hood of stretching your pouch I would think would be minimal. #3 - This one is up in the air. Some people are told they can drink soda, some are told they can not. I think if you have an occasional soda it is not a big deal. I rarely drink it but I have drank it. It really fills me up. Whether or not it can stretch your pouch is up for debate. You get used to it. I used to drink a lot of soda, never miss it or crave it anymore. You have a great MOM! How is she doing? Use your common sence, make good choices and exercise. Exercise really make a huge difference. You can do this, just don't sabotage yourself. make good choices and get some exercise and QUIT drinking with your meals.
  18. I had some restriction right from the start but I could always eat more than 1 cup of food. I could eat 2 - 3 cups easily. I watched what I ate and lost weight steadily. Then at about 1 year I had another fill and WHAM! I could barely eat. Threw up A LOT so I went in for an unfill after about 2 weeks. My Dr. took out .2 cc and ever since (the past 3 months) I am at a perfect restriction. I get full, very full, on less than 1 cup of food. I truly didn't think I would ever see the day that would happen. Just keep doing what you are doing, you will eventually get to the right restriction. Wow... you really did great pre-op. Hope everything goes well for you!
  19. THAT was a great idea. I bought a couple different books after my surgery, but I no longer use them. hmmmmm?
  20. After all you've been through, I hate to say it, but I think I'd look for a new doctor. I started at my regular family doctor, he referred me to the bariatric surgeon in the same Hospital. I experienced NOTHING like you did. And what the HELL is with the cameras? I'd have to find that out. It is a long process, but it is very worth it. Keep us posted and Good Luck!
  21. I don't have the problem, but I got to tell you... I'd be going el natural! Thats a lot of work!
  22. cottage cheese - great source of protien scrambled eggs yogurt Good Luck to you
