  1. So I started out in 24 size jeans, the other day i went to our storage unit to pick up some older clothes that use to fit me for when the time comes, and I tried on a pair curious to see how far i needed. Well they fit! 18's! Then I tried on the next, and they fit. I ran into the living room and showed my mom and started dancing around. I then ran back to my room and tried on the rest. They all fit! I 'm so excited! :D :D

  2. Just remember nothing tastes as good as thin feel. Maybe you sould tell your Mom about how difficult she is making this. I think everyone should have a safe haven, with a positive support system. If your Mom is eating that way 3 days in a row , i'll bet she needs help with her weight. All the best!

no, she doesn't. Shes lucky that way, now maybe she should have better habits but my mother is thin. 140 lbs 5,8

  3. Are you serious? The OP is 19 years old and living with her parents. I think we can safely assume that it is their house and not hers. She has no right to dictate what they bring into it. Her parents would not be doing her any favors by shielding her from temptations. She needs to learn to deal with them on her own. If Mom and Dad are eating something she finds difficult to stay away from then she needs to go out or stay in another room.

I think you both are right to an extend. I appreciate the feedback!

  4. I am doing great on my 3 week liquid diet after surgery. I haven't cheated. I have the rest of today and tomorrow left. These past few days my mom hasn't been doing as well as she was. She wasn't really eating around me, and if she was it was stuff that didn't really phase me. These last few days she made spagetti for her and my dad. I could smell it throughout the whole house, and she knows its my favorite :( and then yesterday she brought zaxbys home to my dad. My previous fav fast food :( and now i just walked in to see her eating papa johns. AHHHH Mental hunger to the max. Im so sick of Tomato Soup and shakes. I can't wait until wed, but this is making it a bit unfair :(

  5. Hi MAY!!

    I use www.myfitnesspal.com

A lot of people from here are also on MFP.

I love it. It has really helped keep me on track with eating and exercise, and if you friend people on there, you can see their food diaries. It does all the number crunching for you. If I were trying to do this manually I would have given up a long time ago on tracking my food.< /span>

If you decide to join MFP, add me as a friend and you can see my food logs. They aren't the best, but they are WAY better than they were pre-banding!! My user name is kittyforet.

    Good luck!!!

I signed up and added you!

  6. OK, I am 10 days post op and sitting here feeling like I am going to explode with gas. Yes, I walked a lot today, including twice around a park. My doctor said that I am swallowing air because of the work he did around my esophagus, and that I can expect to experience this for a while. Next week I am in an important training class and getting up and walking will not be an option. I am really not looking forward to that. My lower abdomen is also extremely tender, and I am wearing clothing that is 2 sizes too big because as my abdomen expands during the course of the day, the pressure against clothing causes even more pain.

thats odd im on day 10 and i have no gas, im no longer sore, and my incisions are healing tremendously.

  7. Hi everyone. I had surgery on 8/17 (Wednesday). My doc keeps people overnight as a "23 hour patient", but I had asked if I could go home the same day. She said yes - but at 6pm, I decided to stay overnight. The thought of getting to the car, driving home and getting in bed was daunting. Went home ~9:30am on Thursday. Slept most of yesterday. The pain is much less today. I've transitioned to just using Tylenol. I had1/2 cup of chocolate/PB Protein Shake and 1/4 cup of cottage cheese for Breakfast and 1/2 cup of banana Protein shake and 1/2 cup of cream of potato Soup for lunch. The hardest part has been getting in enough fluids - and ALL the food commercials on TV. I'm really learning about head hunger!

Hope everyone continues to do well.

    Christy

    Dear Christy,

You can do it! :D My doctor has a very strict liquid diet of three weeks. and up until yesterday i was just on Clear Liquids. I cant have cottage cheese no Jello like i've been seeing others have. Today i can add in creamy Soups with no chunks and Protein Shakes until the last day which is the 30th! I'm toughing it out, dont feel hungry...but it's still weird not eating anything.

  8. my nutritionist told me that i didn't need more than 50g per day when i start back on solids, she said unless you work out more than 12 hrs a week all that Protein isn't necessary. So don't overdo it, and calories really varies for each person, if you exercising i'd recommend at least 1000-1200. Femles are different than males, and im pretty sure reverie is doing bodybuilder amount of protein. :P

  9. They do, do it very low. I'm trying to figure out what insurance you guys have cause i've never really heard of insurance covering plastic surgery. That's essentially how they see it. Its cosmetic. :( I would love to how some input on ways to get covered etc.

  10. See that's the thing. My insurance is paying for reconstructive/plastic surgery but I'm scared ill have nasty looking scars or something lol

If you find a fantastic doctor I highly doubt they will be nasty. What insurance do you have! For them to cover it is a big deal!

  11. I was banded on August 10th, and my surgeon has performed over 10,000 procedures. He's the co founder of the band, and has a fantastic reputation. He was recently published in Newsweek as 1 of the 15 top bariatric surgeons. He's been on CNN & Oprah.

He and his team of surgeons, nutritionists and healthcare professionals developed Enspira–formulated with six fruits and six vegetables as well as green tea extract.

It's called Enspira, and I've been taking it. So far It's been going well, and I thought you guys might be interested in checking it out.
