WasA, what problems were you having with your band? I've always appreciated your honest, tell it like it is posts so I hope you don't mind sharing here or directing me to a thread where you discuss it.

Where can I get the Big Book? Can you do OA without attending meetings or is the support the vital part? I don't know if I'm ready for a meeting in public.
-
I feel like I've tried everything to get over it, yet here I am still struggling. And I'm the same way with the 100 calorie packs. I buy the doritos one and just keep eating them. Bleh.

I just can't understand why my weight lose is sooo slow... I know I don't follow the rules like I am suppose to. I eat the wrong things and I eat too much of them.I think you answered your own question. And, I'm saying this as someone who is in the same exact position so I totally understand and I'm not chastizing. I wish we could figure out how to follow the rules so we could lose as fast as others. I've been working on this for so long and I just can't get my head on straight about it! These boards are good for finding encouragement, answers, and some inspiration.

I was wondering about WasABubbleButt, too. Has she left the forums? She always gave it to you straight and I liked that.

How far away from goal are you? I remember seeing your posts in other threads. Did you make it half-way then slow down considerably?
-
I had a great experience in Mexico.
-
Have you tried varying the amount of calories each day? I've heard that works for some.
-
Just bumping...
-
Yeah, I can see that point. I've just seen some successful weight loss from people who have adopted this policy so I was wondering if it worked for anyone else. It doesn't work for me because I can't seem to get back on track after a free day.
-
I have to agree about exercise. I do so much better when I do it.

I definitely belong here. Nice to have this thread!

Hey all. I'm single, never married, no kids. I'm on my way to being the crazy cat lady!!!
Nice to be here.

I'm in central Florida!
ksaldana1, who is doing your surgery?
-
I had a wonderful experience. I have to admit, being able to speak Spanish a bit really helped. I'm not fluent but knew enough to get around so I didn't have the problems some have. I even came out of the operating room questioning the nurses in Spanish!

I sort of got lost when the old thread was locked. Glad to find you all again!

Are we still here?

I've noticed that a few people allow themselves "free" days or "free" meals. I was wondering if anyone else does and how often. Weekly, monthly, when you reach a certain goal? Also, is it hard to get back on track after? I've played with free days before and it seems like it always backfires on me so I'm curious what others' experiences have been.

I'm not trying to take away from this thread because I really enjoy it, but if anyone has been banded over a year and is losing slowly, I started a thread for us in the same sub-forum. You can find it here.

Hello everyone! I thought I would start a place for us slow losers who are a year or more past our surgery. I like the other slow losers thread, but I think those of us who have lost a small amount over an entire year or more need our own place to discuss our specific issues.

How about slower than you? It's my own damn fault, though. I'm trying to look at this year as a new start, too, but it's still a struggle. I don't know why. I think it's the mental issues, honestly...

Second day at the gym this week. One hour of cardio, 20-30 minutes of weights. Go me!
-
Are we going to stay here or go back to the original thread that was unlocked?
Either way, I'm doing fine. I did an hour of cardio yesterday (I NEVER went that long before) and some weights. I just need to kick this freakin' sugar habit so I can start losing. I feel like I've re-committed myself and I'm going to take it one day at a time. I get embarrassed over how little I've lost, but then I remind myself I still have my band and just need to work with it.
You all are great. I may not always post but I do read to get inspiration.

Trying to keep up with all these moves here!
