  1. Having big bones is a fallacy. There is very little difference in size between most people's bones. It depends more on your height etc. A normal BMI should be everyones goal. Why would you go through this to settle for still being overweight. There is still a lot of scope within a normal BMI for various " body types". At the top end of normal you won't be skinny.

I don't understand why someone would go through all this not to at least try and get to a normal BMI.

The BMI charts do not account for muscle mass. That is why it is inaccurate for atheletes. I think having a low Fat percentage is more accurate and healthier.

  2. I was banded 10/21/10. I lost weight very well for the first 4 months then i just stalled. I never had a fill. the doctor and nurse didn't think I needed one because I was doing well. Well after months of struggling to lose a pound we decided to get a fill. Much to my surprise (and the nurse that has been seeing me since surgery) I had 4cc in my band at the time of surgery.!!! There was no notation in my file. Even the doctor forgot that he did it. Well I got an additonal .5 cc. It is so weird. I feel like i did after surgery. I hope this does the trick!!! I feel a bit hoodwinked that I did not know I had Fluid in the band.

  3. I have been using the body bugg for 1 month. I love the information that it gives me but here is the problem. My average calorie deficit a day is 800-1100 calories and I have not lost any weight. I take in about 1100-1300 calories a day. I usually burn about 2100 callories per day without exercise. 2400 with exercise. I heard that if you are closer to your goal you can have a large calorie deficit. Is that true. I weigh 168 and my goal is 145. please help.

  5. I have been doing some reading and I found that splenda or sucralose can cause Fluid retention. So now I am wondering if splenda is responsible for my 1 month plateau. The stall coincides with my recent obsession with 4C Water flavoring with splenda. I drink about 5 packets a day. It really helps me drink more water. Does anyone have any thoughts on this? Anyone with fluid retention or weight stall/gain and artificial sugars?

  6. I am still at a plateau. I tried to increase my calories to 1200. Not working. I actually gained a few ounces. Drinking Water to the point I think I will float. Is it possible that my body wants me at 800 calories? Should I go over 1200. For background, I am 39 have lost half my goal weight. I am 5'3". Current weight 174. Goal according to dr is 140. I wear size 12/14 I am a fairly active person. Exercise 3 times a week and chase after 2 little boys. I cried this morning because I feel like I am failing. I have not lost anything in 1 month. I actually gained 2 pounds.

  8. Sometimes it just takes your body awhile to readjust to your new eating habits. Hang in there, the weight will start dropping off again. Also, I noticed as soon as I started a regular exercise program, the weight started coming off even better.

I am having the same problem. I was banded october 21. I was losing 2 pounds a week. Got down from 210 to 174. Now I am stuck. scale will not budge. I am trying to increase my Protein and Water

  9. I called the doctors office this morning and the nurse said....get more calories, more Protein, more water! Isn't that what you all said...This board is amazing!!!

So I will try this and hope I dont gain 10 pounds overnight.

Quit weighing everyday! You will drive yourself crazy. If you have to weigh on a regular basis, weigh just once a week and in the morning right when you get up. I use my Wii Fit to weigh. It keeps up with my numbers for me and is accurate with my dr.'s scale.

Your portion question: I only eat white meat, but never a whole breast. Usually 1/3 to 1/2. Your Protein should be around 4oz. For eggs, it really just depends. I cannot eat 1 egg in the morning, but in the evening for dinner I could eat 2. Just make sure you are getting enough protein. I use sparkpeople.com to track my food. I also like livestrong.com. They have great tracking tools and also have apps for my phone.

  10. I weigh at the same time every day. My scale however changes every time I step on it. Yesterday I lowered carbs an today I was 174.6 in the morning. Stepped back on it again and it said 174.2. Again...175 then 176. I need a reliable scale. But regardless, I still am not at my previous weight of 173. This period thing is killing me. I know it is part of the problem. Oh one morevquestion. Do you all eat 1 piece or 2 pieces of chicken( leg and thigh). How about eggs 1 or 2. Just questioning my portions
