I've been in severe pain and throwing up most of the day so I went to the ER. My urine sample was almost entirely blood and a CT scan found that I have an 8mm kidney stone!!! Yikes!!!
I've had kidney stones 6 times previously, but never one this large. I will need surgery to have it removed, so they will probably admit me to the hospital for the night to control the pain/nausea and then schedule surgery for tomorrow morning.
Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers.

Chobani key lime Greek yogurt. Must have one for Breakfast every day. I check out the grocery store ads in the paper on Sundays to see which market has them on sale and buy 20 at a time. I actually start to get nervous if there are only a few left in the refrigerator. My husband has decided he likes them as well, so I have to make sure there are enough around for both of us and that I don't miss out on my daily "fix".

Probably, but also of they were giving you iv's in the hospital..that often adds Water weight. I was 10 lbs heavier after my last two surgeries, but it went away after a few days at home.

I do like walking a lot. But stress has kept me from that.

    1. Traveling and exploration, my first love. If I'm not jumping on a plane at least once a month, I get.. itchy.
    2. Ingress. Check it out. Really! It goes nicely along with #1
    3. Meeting new people
    4. Entrepreneurial type things. I love trying new things and learning the market. I am currently running a side business alongside my full time job and it's very exciting.
    5. Homesteading.. fascinated by this, but I don't have the resources (aka my own home, a piece of land, etc). But I love things like brewing my own kombucha, making soap, candles, etc.

I've always had interests and enthusiasms, some of them could border on obsessions. Now that I am regaining my mobility it is easier to practice more of them.
    Swimming
    Reading
    Writing
    Photography
    Doing something creative/artistic
    Going to movies
    Gardening
    Decorating
Cooking? (At least trying to learn)
    Some that could be problematic-
Shopping (at least now I can actually go somewhere and shop instead of relying solely on online-shopping it is getting better)
    Internet/phone/social media
    TV
    Hoarding

Most of us are (or have been) addicted to food, but what other addictions/ obsessions do you have?
    I'll go first....
    I'm addicted to/ obsessed with:
•constantly checking my phone throughout the night
    •over-exercising
    •buying new socks
    •gardening
    •cruising/vacationing
I'll try to think of more and add them later.

I actually don't think I've transferred any addiction...
My 'relationship' with food was an odd one...
I actually lived on Coca Cola, espresso coffee with lots of sugar and cigarettes...
I'd eat one every day or two...
I was a chef, so I was also constantly tasting food...
    I kicked the smoking first...
    That was actually easy...
    The Coke was much harder...
It wasn't til I left the industry that I rid myself of that habit...
I then weaned myself of the sugar and then the coffee...
I still have one triple espresso every day...
    No sugar...
Just coffee in all its glory!!!
If anything, it'd be exercise that I'm 'addicted' to...
    But it's a controlled addiction...
    For now anyway...

I remember your preop posts. It's great to see you knocking it out of the park postop - rotten kidney stone nowithstanding.
I had a roomate overnight when I was readmitted. She had a kidney stone and hadn't slept in two days. She was getting huge doses of pain meds and was still miserable. The following morning, she had lithotripsy. She'd gotten moved postop to another room, so I stopped to see her on one of my laps around the floor. She was a totally changed woman with a HUGE grin on her face. Once you get relief from pain like that, it's life-changing.

Thank you all so much for the love and support. I'm not sure what I've shared so far (since I'm doped up on pain meds), so I apologize if I repeat myself.
I was discharged from the hospital around noon yesterday with 5 prescriptions (pain, pain, nausea, antibiotic, and OTC stool softener). I am still in lots of pain and urinating lots of blood. Have to take pain med every 4 hours or it becomes unbearable.
The laser broke up the 8mm stone and he got most of it, but it was really hard and sharp causing a lot of damage to my urethra. It has also caused a tremendous amount of pain and swelling in my testicles. (Feels like someone has been kicking me over and over in the groin area).
I have a stent in and I have to leave it in for 4 weeks (and it too causes a lot of pain).
So I'm pretty much bed ridden for at least 1 week as my surgeon doesn't want me doing anything at all in order to allow things to heal a little and swelling to hopefully go down.
Thanks again to all of you for your thoughts, prayers, and kind words. They mean the world to me!!!
