  2. After completing all of the requirements and recommendations, I now have a surgery date of November 20th. Less than 4 weeks away until my band to gastric sleeve revision surgery!! Woo hoo!!!

Congrats and good luck to you!!!
  4. I will be doing the band to sleeve revision and I can say that I told too many people about the lap band. I guess I just believed everyone would be supportive, but now I know that's not the case. I received some support, but also quite a few rude comments. This time around I will be telling a lot fewer people about the sleeve.
  5. I am actually jumping through some hoops right now and that is just my best guess. My surgeon said that my surgery will be 2-3 weeks after I complete this task for the Weight Management Center. So, I am guessing mid November. *Fingers crossed!!!
  6. So sorry to hear this, but Nov. 2nd isn't too terribly far off. It'll be here before you know it. Hang in there and try to stay positive.
  7. Thanks so much!! I might just have to do that once I have the surgery and lose the weight again. I lost 115 lbs with the band (before I gained it back due to complications), but know I can do it again with the help of the sleeve. We can do this!!! Only 1 more week for you! That's so exciting!! Please keep us posted along the way.
  8. Sorry to hear you had trouble with the band. I did as well and gained all of my weight back. Hopefully your surgeon will be able to help. Good luck to you!
  9. Thanks for sharing your story. I have had a similar journey in regards to the lap band. I was successful losing weight with it for a while, but had complications and the weight came back. I am hoping to have the band to sleeve revision surgery soon, but I'm currently having to jump through a few hoops. Grrrrrr. I have some of the same fears as well. Fears that the sleeve will fail since the lap band did. But I think these fears are normal. Anyway, I'm happy you made the decision to do something about it and equally happy (and jealous...lol) that your surgeon and insurance are making this process quick and painless. Good luck to you!!
  10. Thanks for sharing your experience. I hope your surgery is just right around the corner. Keep the faith. Yeah, I'm not a big fan of jumping through hoops, but I'll do what it takes to make this happen.
  11. I thought I was getting close, but had a setback after my assessments
  12. That is so great to hear!! Thanks for sharing your story with us. And CONGRATS!!!
  13. Thank you so much for your kindness and encouragement. I am ready to have the revision surgery. Just waiting on my surgery date.
  14. Thanks for sharing your experience. Sounds a lot like mine. My wife didn't want the lap band either after she saw my struggles with it. She plans to have sleeve surgery as well, but has to go through the 6 months for insurance first.
  15. Did you revise from lap band to sleeve? If so, which did you like better? Good luck with your continued journey!! I have faith you can get back to goal. Thank you so much. You are very kind and I appreciate the encouragement!!!
  16. Thanks so much. I hope to have my lap band to sleeve revision surgery in the next 4 or so weeks. I lost 115 pounds with lap band, but gained it all back due to complications. Unfortunately, my wife has to go through the 6 months of physician monitored weight loss before she can have the surgery early next year. But we are excited to do it together this time around.
  17. Congratulations!!! You should feel proud!!
  18. Congrats on the weight loss as well as picking up hiking!! My wife and I also want to pick up hiking after we have surgery and lose a little more weight (so the joints don't hurt so bad). We also love cruising!!
  19. Today the fear is saggy skin, so I just bought a BowFlex Home Gym to help alleviate that fear.
  20. Good luck on your surgery next week. You'll do great!! I hope to be not far behind.
  21. It is the worst. I hate those party crashers!!! lol. Thanks so much! If I ever zipline I will post pics.
