  1. Just wanted to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!! Hope you enjoy the magic of the season!!
  2. Smaller pieces I could do! Had a slice of brisket yesterday. Maybe a fondue dinner? Hrmm...Small pieces of meat boiled in broth (not oil). Cooking only 2 pieces at a time so should be slow enough. Perhaps... That sounds good!!
  3. Thanks for the birthday wishes and HAPPY Birthday to you today!!!
  4. I think I am using the wrong term. The steak wasn't actually pureed (no liquid added to it). It was just ground up into smaller pieces.
  5. Thank you. I'm so glad that I can interact with such encouraging and supportive people on this site!!
  6. Thank you!! I appreciate the kind words. I have a long way to go, but I just might change my name if I lose enough weight. Awesome results, man. Truly awesome. Just think......you are just a month into this deal. Tremendous first month. As far as the name change thing goes......may I suggest Dirk Diggler. Mark Walberg's character name from Boogie Nights. You are gonna feel like a stud. I can't get over your clothing size difference in just ONE month. I know that feels great. Thank you so much! I really appreciate the vote of confidence! Thank you so much. I have a long way to go, but I am more pleased with the change in my mobility than the weight lost. For a while I was fearful for my life due to the immobility and exertion it took just to walk to the mailbox. And I am definitely going for that hike. We have been dreaming about it for a long time and I even think Santa is bringing us some hiking shoes. I am so happy I am able to walk again as well. I didn't realize how exhilarating it is and how much I took it for granted.
  7. Thank you for your insight and advice. I really appreciate it!
  8. It was good, but the frosting was way too sweet and kind of made me nauseous …which I am actually happy about. Makes me not crave it so much.
  9. Thank you!! I appreciate the kind words. I have a long way to go, but I just might change my name if I lose enough weight.
  10. He picked the kiss and I gave it to him on your behalf!! Heheehe Thank you! I'm so glad you could make it real. Between you and me, F2P, the idea of steak and potato in the blender makes me queasy. A thousand years ago when I was inpatient for appendectomy, I felt hungry after a couple of days on IV and suggested pizza in a blender. It sounded okay then, but queasy-making now. You are a loving partner and he's lucky. I've seen your screen name around, but not the Kentucky connection. I wish you both all the best as partners in crime and all else. It actually wasn't that bad. Tasted good to me. lol.
  11. You are the best!! Thanks for making it special just by being you.
  12. Thank you all so very much. You have each helped brighten my birthday and I really appreciate that. My wife also made it very special. She picked up a steak and baked potato and I pureed it and had about 2oz of steak and 1/4 of a baked potato. She also went out and bought 1 small cupcake at a local bakery and I was able to eat a couple of bites of it. So, I was able to eat almost everything I wanted, but on a much smaller scale...which was perfect!!! Thanks again everyone!!!
  13. Thanks for the birthday wishes and the reminder to embrace the changes. Thank you and good luck to you on your continued journey!!!
  14. You always know what to say in a positive manner. Thanks so much for your encouraging and supportive posts. They are always much appreciated. And thanks for the birthday wishes!!!
  15. Before weight loss surgery I would eat anything in the house from pizza, spaghetti, sandwiches, etc. Now that I am 4 weeks Post-Op I usually have a protein shake, but will slowly be moving to cottage cheese and fruit or yogurt.
  16. Thank you for the birthday wishes and thanks for the insight. I really appreciate it!! And HAPPY belated Birthday to you!!!
  17. You summed up exactly how I feel!! Thank you so much for your understanding and willingness to share your feelings with me. It really means a lot to have others share their experiences and offer their support during this time. We can do this!!! And I am honored that your first post was to my thread. Thank you!!
  18. Thank you for the birthday wishes!! I really appreciate it. That sounds good. Yum.
  19. Today is my birthday...normally a cause for celebration...but today I am sad. I never realized how much food was involved in my birthday celebration. I am currently 4 weeks post-op and can't really enjoy any of the foods normally associated with a birthday. No steak and baked potato or pizza for dinner. No buttered popcorn and coke at a movie. No cake and ice cream after the gifts. I know that having the sleeve surgery was my decision and I don't regret it in the least, but it is going to take some time for me to not emotionally want food. I made it through Thanksgiving just fine (which occurred 1 week after my surgery) and don't feel the food pressures of Christmas either. However, my birthday is a different story and I am struggling. Would love some support from my fellow Bariatric Pals today.
  20. YAY I hit my goal!!! I am down to 319.8 this week.
  21. WOW that is great results for the 1st month. 36 pounds is a huge loss and you have had a lot of NSV as well. Many of which I also hope to achieve with the sleeve whenever my surgery date is going to be. Thanks so much! I appreciate it!!
  22. Things have changed fairly rapidly over the last month since I had surgery on November 20th and wanted to share my progress. I know that I still have a VERY LONG way to go, but I have been shocked at how much things have changed in such a short period of time. I know some info might be TMI, but I just wanted to share with those that might be interested. So, here is my 1 Month Post-Op Progress Report. Weight Lost: 36.2 pounds Inches Lost: 27.5 inches Pant Size: 58 down to 50 waist Shirt Size: 4XL down to 2XL-3XL (depending on the shirt) Short/Boxer Size: 4XL down to 2XL Distance able to walk: Was at 50 yards and now up to 3.0 miles Time able to walk: Was at 2 minutes (to mailbox and back) and now up to 60 minutes Back Pain: Pain was excruciating and now almost non-existent Knee Pain: Pain was excruciating and now it's mild Windedness: Got winded getting up off the couch and now can walk 3 miles without being winded Washing/Wiping: Had trouble fully washing myself and wiping, but now have no problems
  23. Sorry to hear about the stress fracture, but CONGRATS on the weight loss and getting into a smaller pair of jeans!!! I know what you mean!!! That is all I have been wearing as well...just shorts. So glad I can finally get into a pair. CONGRATS to you as well!!!
  24. Thanks so much! I appreciate it.
