That is most definitely muscle. I've greatly picked up my exercise in the last month from walking 1-3 miles to 7-10 miles. For a few weeks I noticed myself weighing a little heavier and that was disappointing. But then realized it was muscle. Keep at it and you'll do great!!I posted about this on another thread. But I have been significantly increasing exercise for 2 weeks and have gained almost 4 lbs. I'm not eating more. If anything I've lowered carbs and increased Protein. I'm so bummed

So, how did everyone do yesterday?
Anyone have goals for today?
My goal is to hand shovel all of the 4" of snow off my long driveway.

You are the cat's meow, the man of the hour, the tiger on the loose. Just one little quibble: Take a look at your List of Changes and tell me that you haven't come a VERY LONG way. Ptish-tosh on "a very long way to go." You'll get there in 10 swings of a handbasket, whatever that means.
I know that I still have a VERY LONG way to go, but I am seeing progress which helps keep me motivated.
You are always so kind and funny. Thanks so much for your encouragement!!

Congratulations!
It is so exciting to see you go from couch potato to hiker in such a short time. That is so encouraging and motivating.
This is indeed a lifelong journey and everyday is another win. You are doing fantastic and should be so proud of yourself. And how wonderful it must be for you and your wife to go through this together. We're always here to help you both and offer encouragement along the way. Congrats!
You have always been very supportive and encouraging! Thank you both so much! I appreciate it greatly!!

I'm coming up on my 2-month post-op. Anyone want me to post my results?
I do-I do. Please tell us how you did. I bet the second month was just as good if not better than the first month.

Gonna push it over 10K and call it good.
Met my Protein goals and stayed under 25 grams of carbs today.

Thanks so much. I appreciate it!!Love your optimism & outlook Fatty! Everyone needs a cheerleader now and then ... good to know you are in my corner.
Today my focus is on increasing my fluids & liquid Protein. Been sick the past few days and not yet back to solids (makes my tummy queasy still), but have had trouble getting in ANYTHING before now. Also bumping the walking back up after being so lethargic ... shooting for 8500 steps today.
Have a great one everyone!!!
Sorry to hear you have been sick. Hope you are feeling better.
Those are some great goals. Good luck!!
Sorry to hear you got laid off and equally sorry to hear about depression. I suffer from depression as well so feel free to PM me any time you need to talk or vent.Today I WILL exercise. Oh and I promise not to nap today. (Got laid off almost 3 weeks ago and I have allowed depression / feeling sorry for myself to beat me more than a few of those days.) There... I put it in writing so now I have to do it!
Just had a NUT appointment and she said I could move my calories up to closer to 1000. Woohoo! I have been staying closer to 800 to 900. Looking forward to seeing what healthy choices I can work in.
And I am headed off to my very first trip to Trader Joe's. Wish me luck!
Good luck at Trader Joe's!!!

Here's my before and after...the one on the left is from July 2014, was sleeved Feb 2015! Down 55 pounds
Before and 9 months post op
GREAT job everyone!!! You all look terrific!!
-
You're right Fatty. Every day gives us the opportunity to have a fresh start. The past is spent already and it's time to move on. Today I will do the best I can to (1) get in all my Water, (2) make sure I do all my Protein, and (3) exercise at least 30 minutes plus get 4500 steps in. After that, the rest will be gravy. Well, gravy is not the right term for my new lifestyle, so , the rest will be healthy. My secondary goals will be to hang around 900-1000 calories and ENJOY THE RIDE.
You have some great goals and I know you can accomplish them!!! Great job on the weight loss as well!!

Here is my pre-op and post-op pictures.
First picture taken on Oct. 24th (2 weeks before I start my pre-op diet at 356 on November 6th).
Second picture taken on Dec. 25th (1 month post-op at 317.2).
Had a 38.8 pound loss in 6 weeks (2 weeks pre-op and 4 weeks post-op).
(BTW how do you make pictures bigger within the post?) -
Taken on October 12, 2015.......the morning before my surgery. Umbilical hernia felt like it was about to freaking explode. Surgeon repaired it during f the sleeve surgery. So grateful for that. 6xl t-shirt and 4xl pants in the pic.
Taken this morning. 2xlt jacket that I've had for ages....just couldn't wear it. It was my "goal jacket" to fit into for Winter of 2017.......had no idea I'd be able to wear it now. More gratitude.
You look great! You should be proud! Awesome job!!!

Sorry I forgot to post yesterday.
I'm down to 304.4 as of yesterday, 1/18/2016. Will I ever reach Twonderland???
Great job everyone!!!
-
That is a great goal indeed!!! I need to be mindful as well. Good luck!!Stick to my food plan!
Sounds like the perfect day (aside from the Cavs losing). Keep up the great work!!Relax.
Enjoying the portion of my work schedule where I can relax over a few days off.
Went out to Target this morning and bought a Croc-Pot to replace a broken one. Will get the stuff for a pot of chili tomorrow. Great Protein source.
Heading to the gym in a few to get my daily dose of killer tunes, sweat and motivation from the folks doing work around me.
After that......maybe gonna see Concussion or Hateful 8.
Day of leisure.......about what my Cavaliers did last night.....played a game of leisure and got their butts stomped in an embarrassing way.
-
Thanks so much my friend. You are too kind.
.Sorry to hear you have low energy my friend. My energy dips as the day goes on, but I try to exercise every day and that sometimes actually helps with my energy. I think you need to find a way to increase calories. Maybe take in another Protein shake each day.
Personally, I've noticed that the fewer calories I have in a day the less energy I have and the less weight I lose because my body thinks it's starving. I'm currently in a 1 1/2 - 2 week stall even though I walked almost 45 miles last week, but I was also skipping meals last week and ended up with maybe a .5 pound loss this week (if I'm lucky)
Hope your energy level picks up soon.
I'm going to try this.. Add in an extra shake a day! I too have been at a stall. Thank you so much for your help! And you look great BTW! I seen your pics on another post! Your doing amazing!!!
Keep up the great work!! Hope your energy picks up soon.

You have been too kind. It's much more than we deserve, but it means a lot coming from you. So thank you!
I'm glad I got to this part because I was ready to grab FMcF by the hand to find that cretin with me and then FMcF and I would kick him or her, whichever it may be, in the shins. Hard kicks.Hi. Thanks. Just had a bad day and then that happened.
I am actually in a great spot right now.

The good news is that that person has to go through life being himself.
I have to thank you both for being 2 awesome and loving people. You have gone above and beyond trying to be respectful, caring, and nurturing. That will not go forgotten. So thank you both.

It seams I am missing something previous to this thread, but @@Fat2Phat2016 if someone is dogging on you for whatever reason, forget them. Not sure why someone would "attack" you, but it seems ridiculous. If you did attack first, then so be it. Sometimes we say things out of anger. I have done that plenty of times believe me and many times I have regretted it. Just be done with all of this. Move on. Don't even respond anymore to anything you consider negative directed toward yourself.
Just get rid of the thread, don't start any more unless it deals with WLS and move on. You are a wonderful person and we all have many wonderful things to be thankful for. Start focusing on all the pounds we are all losing!!!!!!!!! Well, all of y'all, haha, I seem to be stuck AGAIN.
Go out, my dear, talk a long walk, and clear your mind of the negativity. Like I said, think about all the great friendships we share
Have a wonderful evening my friend!
to parra phrase my favorite quote: You are worthy of existence. And the relationship you have with God is way more valuable than anything else on this piddly earth we call home. Embrace those that love you and walk past those that don't accept you. But remember it was always about you and God....and never about them anyway!!!
Hi. Thanks. Just had a bad day and then that happened.
Fat or not, how could you possibly let something a complete stranger said to you on the internet bother you so much?
Thanks! I am looking for support that I am worth existing. Being a fat person my whole life is hard enough to live through. All the hurt that can come from other people. I thought I had found a forum where we all supported one another. But to hear that from another member is heartbreaking.Let's try to keep this thread on topic. Fat2Phat2016 is hurting and looking for support. Let's try to give that to her. We all need support sometimes.
I would suggest you get some therapy to help you overcome some obvious self esteem issues. It's not going to help with your weight loss journey if you crumble anytime someone says something mean to you. People can be assholes, plain and simple. In real life and ESPECIALLY on the intertubes.
Do like dogs do. Kick some grass on that shiat and just walk away.
I am actually in a great spot right now.
The sun will come out tomorrow ☀️
