  1. I didn't think I overdid it too bad but around 2am...I was in agony. I didn't have any "stuck" issues as I was eating but I definitely felt as it I was wearing pants that were 3 sizes to small! Horrible to feel as if I was "clogged" up! Couldn't throw up so it just sat there like a dead weight. Took over 7 hours to feel a bit better! Thank god the holidays are over! I get my 1st fill this coming Tuesday...should I go on liquids beforehand? I still feel full from yesterday!!

    need some good advice

I can eat anything too...my band isn't filled until Dec. 28th. But I don't eat like before...I haven't gained anything back but I'm stuck at 27-30 lbs lost to date. I'm not complaining since I've lost all of that in just 1 month. I noticed that I do get full quickly and I'm making a real effort to eat small portions. I couldn't believe that I can walk on the treadmill for a full 45 minutes without breathing heavy...that's a miracle! I'm little nervous too that the "honeymoon period" will be over after my 1st fill...so scared to get stuck. I almost feel like I can lose weight without a fill...the band is just the tool I needed. My doc wants to do 2.5cc in my 14cc band. Hopefully I won't have any issues! Good luck to everyone!

    Nov 2010 bandsters

I was banded on 11/8 and I have an unfilled band right now. I've been able to lose 30 lbs but now being on solid food...its levelled out. Haven't gained but notice nothing is coming off. I'm OK with that as long as I dont overeat and gain! I get my fill on the 28th. I haven't had any problems eating anything right now so I'm alittle scared about getting "STUCK". Good luck all!
  4. Hi All...I'm still trying to figure out how to save this group to "favorites"...any hints? I'm glad to get back on this group...we're all going through this at the same time. I started on solids without a problem since I'm not restricted yet. Nervous to get my 1st fill ... so afraid of being stuck!! Hope everyone had a great Turkey Day...now to get through Christmas!
  5. Hi All! Hope everyone survived Thanksgiving! I was banded on Nov. 8th and was told that I could start on solids the 29th...I started a few days early! I had a deviled egg, mashed potatoes and alittle stuffing which all went down easy since I'm not restricted yet. Just got to get through Christmas...getting my 1st fill on 12/28!
  6. I was banded on Nov. 8th and was told to start onto solids this weekend...I cheated and had alittle leftover today and did fine. I'm nervous about my first fill at the end of Dec. Everyone talks about food getting "stuck" but does anyone know if it feels like bad heartburn or a really full stomach or do you feel like you're Choking??
  7. I'm confused...you were doing good UNTIL your 1st fill? I thought you'd do even better? What was the reason?

    Post op diets

I see everyone's diets are different...no Thanksgiving for me...just broth & Protein shakes. I ordered Designer's whey Choc. Protein (17 grams per scoop) on vitacost.com...not bad & for a 2 lbs jar it was only about $19. I saw a 1 lbs jar for $13 at a food store. I also bought a "shaker/blender" for $3.50 and love it cause it does a good job blending all the powder. I pour 16 oz. of lowfat Lactaid milk, drop the blender ball and add 3 scoops of Protein Powder (there's almost your 60 grams of protein!). Note: Stir alittle so the powder starts to sink and not get trapped in the lip...doesnt leak either! I make it at night and its really cold 1st thing in the morning. I also read that pour some of the Protein shake into ice cube trays and throw them into your travel mug. Regular ice will Water the shake down. Just passing some tips along!! Jo

    Post op diets

hi there! i got banded on 11/8 and was told nothing but liquids & SF jello for 3 weeks. stomach needs time to heal. mushy food like applesauce, mash potatoes, yougart, etc gets added in then soft food like eggs...then food to chew on in about 5-6 weeks. I'm just building my recipe file for then...can't wait!
  10. Maybe you switched from liquids too soon. My doc told me that I cant stray from Protein shakes, broth, SF jello, hot tea & water. He said I can move into the mushie stage (i.e. applesause, yougart, mash potatoes, etc) in 3-4 weeks.
  11. The gas gets better....just has to dissipate in your body. Mine got trapped behind my shoulder...may as well have been a knife! The doc told me to lay flat as much as possible to speed along the dissipation cause you can burp or fart it out! LOL...also I have that rumbling too and read that it part of the "healing". All new sensations for sure. Good luck!
  12. Hi Shelia! I was banded on 11/8 and it was only the 1st day that I had to be on clear liquids. Starting the 2nd day, I was allowed 3-4 oz of a protein shake every 4 hours while drinking either water, broth, hot tea & SF jello hourly. I'm not hungry at all....only took 3 of my pain pills which I halfed cause I really just wanted to take the edge off. The protein shakes help with the hunger for sure. I'm just aware that my sips are probably alittle "bigger" than they will be when I'm filled. Gotta practice! Glad I have all of you to go through this with me!
  13. I'm also a Peanut Butter freak and was happy to find out that we will be able to have 2 Tbls of smooth, low-sodium peanut butter when we graduate to solids. I was eating JIF low-sodium...pretty good. I CANT WAIT! Good Luck!

    Vitamins, Calcium, and B12?

I was just banded this week so I'm not having problems taking any of my supplements & prescription meds right now. My fear is the Omega 3 supplements after my 1st fill...they are huge! I HATE the taste so I rather not chew or take a liquid...yuck! Any suggestions?
  15. Don't sabotoged yourself to prove a point. This is hard. I've only been banded a few days but I'm thankful I didnt tell EVERYONE...only those who would support me and will not "nag, insult, blame, etc". I also think some people think this is the "easy way out" which if they knew anything...this is not. Ignore Ignorance!
  16. Hi everyone! I was banded on 11/8 and have the same issues! Bloating, gas, cant sleep on my back, not sure if I'm hungry, etc. From what I understand from my doctor, the gas they use during the surgery has to dissipate and lying flat on your back helps it along. My shoulder was killing me...thats where the gas lodged. I can now sleep kinda on my side...helps. I still feel like a truck backed over me but I'm hopeful I'll be better in 1 week! My question is...anyone scared to take their vitamins like the omega 3 once they're filled??

    No Support from Husband

My husband was alittle like that too and now I realized he was just a bit scared. His life will change too...it has too. Men don't like change. I got banded on 11/8 and he's been good about things...thank god for my girlfriends! They are my rock! I only told the ones that I knew would be and not the others that are judgemental. Don't worry about anyone else except for yourself!
  18. Hi Everyone! I was banded on Monday 11/8...still feel very sore and still have a travelling gas pain which is not by my shoulder. Not unbearable but still very sore. Not hungry at all...but I do notice my tummy grumbles at night. I'm doing the 4 oz of liquid every hr. while awake but realized that I may be constipated. Good luck all!

    Scared! Need a pep talk!

I'm going in tomorrow too! (Nov. 8th) I am going through the same feelings...upset with myself that I let it come to this point. I think its just nerves! :smile2: Good luck!
