    Anybody banded on Dec 16th

I was also banded on the 16th, but have just now started getting hungry. When are you scheduled for your first fill? I go in on the 27th. It is going to be a long two weeks!
  3. Nah nah...nah nah nah nah...Hey hey hey GOODBYE!!!

  4. So...I was banded on the 16th and have been very proud of my progress. I have been stepping on the scale daily over the last few days because I have been dreaming of "ONEderland" and am sooooo close. This morning I step on and the scale shows I have lost FOUR pounds since yesterday. I realize this is pretty much impossible, so I move the scale and step on again. Now I have gained three of those pounds back. I move it again and have gained 2 more. As I keep movin and weighing, I realize that, depending on how the scale is situated, I have about a 5 pound fluctuation. UGH! :banghead: I guess I will just have to go to my local GNC to get an actual weight each week. I don't guess they would appreciate me stripping down in the store, though :whatchutalkingabout . Ah well...

    I HATE MY SCALE!!!

I had not thought of that. Maybe it's time to replace the batteries.

    I HATE MY SCALE!!!

LOL...it IS a digital scale and one of the more expensive ones I bought on my last serious weight loss attempt. The reason I was frustrated is because this is SCALE fluctuations and not WEIGHT fluctuations. These weights were all taken within a 3 minute time frame. I can assure you that my weight did not fluctuate 5 pounds in 3 minutes. I'm usually pretty good about weighing once a week (leftover habit from one of the MANY Weight Watchers attempts), but since I was 200 point something, I wanted to Celebrate when it switched to 199 point something. Guess everything has a reason. After that frustration, I decided to clean out my closet and get rid of all the clothes that were too big. There weren't too many that were completely unwearable, but I was able to fit into some of the clothes stuffed way in the back, so I was happy.

    Dr. Hollis' Patients

That is pretty much how I have understood it as well. I was banded by Dr. Reilly (also of True Results) on 12/16 and had my first post-op check-up on Thursday. I really liked my patient advocate, but I haven't seen my surgeon enough to know what exactly I think of him. When I went in on Thursday, I had to wait for over an hour because he was in surgery, then he spent a total of about 2 minutes checking me out and telling me when to come back. He DID ask if I had any questions, but I felt so rushed! On the other hand,
  9. HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

  11. I know this is an OLD thread, but I'm new and had to add my $.02 I have not always had a weight problem, so I didn't have to deal with a lot of garbage in school, but I gained a little weight my senior year after moving to a different school. The next summer, I saw someone from my old high school who asked me what had happened and commented that I had gained weight. Just to clarify, I was 5'4" and weighed a whopping 120 pounds at that time. HELLO?!?!?! The only other time I have been truly hurt by someone's comment was just a coupleof years ago. As we are all sitting down to eat Christmas dinner and everyone has their plates piled high, my F-I-L looks specifically at me and my plate and says "well THAT'S why you're so damn fat!" I tried to play it off with yep, I like to eat...especially at Christmas, but then I went outside and cried. The rest of the family was mortified and my husband had to go inside to see if I was just overreacting, only to find out that that really WAS what he said. He offered to leave, but then tried to justify it as my F-I-L is getting senile and does not realize what he is saying. Didn't help much to help me feel better, but... For the most part, though, I have been pretty fortunate. Of course, I typically beat others to the punch and make my own jokes, but that is more of a shield than anything. Hopefully, I won't need that shield for too terribly much longer. Renee
  12. Headed to church. Merry Christmas! Have a blessed day!

  14. I don't seem to be gurgling anymore. My pain is mostly gone, but I get tired a lot quicker than I did before. Of course this could also be because I am on Christmas break and am getting a little lazy (but that's just a maybe).
  15. It is no secret how I feel about shopping, so can somebody PLEASE tell me WHY I am back out again?!?!

  16. Quote from my daughter... "NOW I know why you don't like shopping...you don't SEE how things go together." Well duh!

  17. My baby girl is a Texas State Bobcat!!!Congratulations Nicolette!!!

  18. Way overdid it today, but...no nap, so I made it the whole day through like a big girl ;-)

  19. Ah well... No moon, no stars, just clouds. Good night!

    In The Beginning...

VERY difficult to find pics where I was not hiding behind someone or that was just a face shot.
  21. Feeling kinda yuck! I feel great after I first wake up, but feel like I need a nap mid-afternoon. I hope this is still sugary recovery and not just old age creeping up.

  22. I was banded on 12/16 (anyone else feel like they should be "released back into the wild" after saying that...sorry, husband is a scientist and that is how they track birds). Anyway, I was kinda depressed at first because my scale read a full 5 pounds heavier the night after surgery than it did that morning. Last night, I was still there, but am a pound less this morning than surgery morning. I know it just has to be the bloating. I am not in pain, but my stomach looks like it would pop if stuck with a pin. Hunger has not kicked in, but the cravings sure have. The band has helped in that I know I can't cave in to those cravings where I would have before. It is also a very weird feeling when I try to drink anything...almost like a gas bubble just below my breast bone. It lasts for a couple of seconds, gurgles, then moves on down. I can only assume it is where the band is and it takes a few seconds for it to go through.

    Woo Hoo!

Today's the day! Am I supposed to feel nervous? Just wondering, because all I feel is EXCITED!!! See ya on the other side... Renee
  24. Mrs.Doxie

    Woo Hoo!

Doing great! I had NO pain until last night and even now it isn't bad. I have been taking the pain meds to prevent it, though (per my RN's recommendation). I did get a little light headed in the shower this morning, but that has been the worst of it. I am still telling MOST people that I had hernia repair surgery, but I may become more open about it as I progress. BTW, I finally got a little bit nervous after the started the IV, but then they allowed my comic relief back with me (my daughter and her boyfriend) and that dissipated quickly. Good luck to you all, no matter what leg of your journey you happen to be in.
