  1. Hic cups for me when I am full
  2. I think I started feeling better and being able to drink more fluids 2 weeks post op. I am still careful but the discomfort is not there like right after surgery
  3. Jacksonville Florida here.. I was sleeve in May by Dr. Webb. I don't regret my decision in the least. The only advise I can give is to just do it.
  4. I have to agree Tiffy. Men were made with more of an ego then we realize lol. Maybe it is that he just needs to feel like he is needed or he needs to feel like the "big guy" in the house.
  5. Congrats on your weight loss beautifuldisaster!! I can relate and understand how you are feeling. I think that like other people have said, you have to really make a decision on if the type of person she is .. is she worth being in your new life? You have changed some... your not the doormat anymore and you will probably change more but in a very good way. It might be worth it to write a letter and get everything out and send it to her. To me the most damaging thing is that people can't understand the changes and the things we have been through. She will either see that she hasn't been the best friend to you or she will play the victam again and act like you are to blame. But at least at that point you have gotten everything out and you said everything you wanted to.
  6. I am more of a communication person so I would have a heart to heart with my mom or my sister, whichever your closest with. Maybe it is that they are afraid to be supportive because it might throw you off coarse. who knows why people do what they do. But I think you will feel a lot better if you talk to them. I have a wonderful support behind me but I think it has a lot to do with having open communication.
  7. Another heavyweight here!!! I started at 365 and I am at 298 right now. I still have about 138 - 145 to lose.
  8. LOL wow... but I did take notes because I DO NOT want that happening to me.
  9. I went through a lot of fatigue post op. You just have to remember that you just went through major surgery and even though you may think on the outside you looked like your are fast on your way to recovery--- on the inside... it's a little more intense. I started feeling better energy wise at about 4 weeks. I hope this helps.. just keep your chin up and give your body time to heal.
  10. During the first 3 weeks post op I did have some issues with sleeping. It wasn't a matter of pain as much as just uneasyness. It slowly resolved itself but was a pain in the hiney until it did.
  11. I am doing about 70 to 80 grams of protein a day. But I get most of those in snacks and the fact that I do drink a protein shake in the mornings. I blend my shake with a half a bananna a small teaspoon of peanut butter and a lil ice. The peanut butter cuts down on the foam that you can get when blending shakes and it adds a lil more protein. My snacks usually consist of Greek yogart (usually comes with fruit in it), cottage cheese (with fruit), cheese (have to be careful not to get constipated), and sliced 98 0r 99 % fat free lean ham, chicken, or turkey. Sometimes the sliced meat can give 5 grams of protein per thin slice and I usually can eat 2 maybe 2 and 1/2. Other then that mixing up some sugar free pudding and using the flavorless protein powder does really well. I also mixed the flavorless protein powder with EVERYTHING almost my first month to 6 weeks post op because it was harder to eat things. Just some ideas
  12. I agree with Brenda, I am really tall at almost 6 feet so it takes ALOT of weight loss before everyone can see it. I think I lost a little over 30 when people started noticing. Everyone else started noticing before I did. It will happen... Just have to give it a shot to work for ya.
  13. with losing weight so quickly it is likely or possible that we could develope gallbladder stones and that could be what they are scanning for. Actually that is the only thing they could be scanning for lol.
  14. Globetrotter - I can relate to you so much. I had surgery on 5.21 and the first 3 to 5 weeks were slow. I hit a block around that time but then my body made up for it in the weeks after that. I know the road seem longs for us. I have lost almost 70 pounds in 2 and a half months. I still don't met my water requirements daily that is something I am still working on but I do get my grams of protein in daily. The best advise I can give you is to NOT weigh daily. I only weigh once a week usually on Mondays. It helps because our bodies float between gaining and losing and healing so the weight changes. If you don't see the scale move in a day we get antsy. Just save some heart ache and put the scale away. You will do great. Just stay on plan and do what you can to make these months successful.
  15. Gallbladder ultra sound is to see if you have any gallbladder stones or flares. It's just to make sure you don't have complications after the surgery.
  16. I think your doing great. Things will seem more steady after a month. That is how things happened for me. But at the same time, I had ALOT more to lose and that has alot to do with it. Keep your head up and realize it is a new way of life. You just have to keep going and believe that it will happen for you.
  17. I don't regret my decision at all. I have my down days where eating as much as other people sounds tempting. But for the most part I love my new self more and more everyday.
  18. I was in the same boat as you right before my surgery. The funny thing is that after surgery it was all gone. They use alot of antibotics during and after surgery. Not only that but the anesthisea (sp?) tends to dry up congestion. But I think it has alot to do with if you have chest congestion. I wish you luck, hopefully they will be able to do the surgery.
  19. I have to say that I have noticed a difference in my feet. They are shirking slowLY width and length..
  20. Donna - Your doing great.. The first 4 weeks are the hardest physically and emotionally. Everything your going through is normal. Keep your head up.
  21. I remember my first period after surgery was also horrible but not as bad as you discribed. I hope you feel better soon!
