  1. The consult went well and I am super excited. I had my first month appointment today and the doctor just said to exercise and cut portions and calaries and he will document as needed.
  2. Thanks Alto, My insurance from what I hear want it to be very documented and under a physican monthly evaluation. I can't complain because I have been praying for my insurance to change and cover the procedure for almost 3 years now but dang.... I was hoping to have it sooner.

    Insurance company changes

Hi, I currently have thyroid disease but I am not sure why they are removing your thyroid instead of putting you on thyroid medication? Insurance changes are always hard. I have not had the procedure done yet because of waiting for my employers insurance to change to one that covers the band. It is finally happening 01/01/10. But my first question is why romove your thyroid when they will have to put you on medication anyway.

  15. Hi, I have just recently found out about the banding procedure and started doing research. I am 28 years old and have struggled with my weight all my life. My major concern is my insurance company covering the procedure. I have struggled with my weight all my life and luckily I have the same primary care doctor for the last 10 years or so. The only thing that I am worried about is that I do have Hypothyroidism. It uncontrolled and a large part of that is because of my weight. Do you think my thyroid disorder will cause a problem with my insurance company covering the band procedure? Thanks for the help

    Is this for me ???

Hi, I have just recently started looking into the banding procedure. I have been fighting my weight all my life from the time I was a toodler. I currently am not only fighting a relationship that has recently ended but also sever thyroid disorder. I have always wanted to do something about my weight and I have tried everything aside from surgery. I have been on every diet imaginable and in order to lose weight I have to do 90% more then someone normally would. I am desprite to do something life changing. I want to be a different person on the outside. I don't want this anymore and I want people to see me for me and not as an overweight woman. I want to be happy with myself and increase my health. I have heard positive things and negative I just am not sure where I might fit in. I am trying to decide if this is the right thing for me. Please help with any advice... Thanks:faint:
