feel like i pulled a muscle

I agree with othther posts. I'm a year post surgery and the 1st week was torture. Stomach pains which was gas. It went into shoulder and under ribs thought I was having heArt attack. gas x helped, hot broth and walking helped. It effects us all differently. Don't be surprised if u get the runs as well.

    Confused....Need advice?

I would say watch the calories in terms if tracking. This happen to me and we figured though I was getting in protein u gotta eat enough to burn. Working out 5-6 dys with only about 1000-1200 didn't work for me. Most athletes or fitness buffs, if u think about it need more calories especially if u burning about 500 or so during workouts. Hope this helps u. May not be your issue but for me figurEd out that was the problem. Also ihwd o change m exercise to jump start he weighloss. I took up running which made a tremendous difference
  3. Yep it can be a roller coastim learning. Haven had adjustment in months bEcause I gained a little back and doc said I didn't need it and also I still get stuck with certain foods or eating too fast. I found that also vetain foods won't bother u I varies. My band tighten on it's on during PMS and I can't tolerate almost nothing, but when it passes I can eat things like rice or pizza if I eat slow. I can tolerate things like fried chicken where some can't. Steak gets stuck everytime
  4. I say yes. I have had several adjustments and finally got restriction after 7 months. Doc also told me when I lose weight the band is a little looser. They have to adjust you little by little if theyre doing it right. Youll know when u finally get restriction when you have your 1st stuck episode or the vomiting. Sorry but I kept asking people when will I feel it or how will I know. I promise you will see once you reach restricition
  5. that happens and I thought I would go crazy a year ago. It will be like that at times until you start getting adjustments and reach restriction. Talk with your doc. I did and 2 weeks post surgery he allowed me to add soft foods b/c I wasnt staying full long off broth etc. It took me months to get restriciton so be awre of that. may take several adjustments. It will be ok
  6. On a serious tip you may want to talk with your doc or a therapist aboput this for support. Im with you being little over a year out from surgery. havent made it to my gola quite, but I struggle like you. Just watch it and be careful. and yes I hate when people tell me not to lose anymore. I wanna be healthy and not still considered obese. Anyway getting support from this site and within the community is helpful. I dont think others who arent banded understand what we go through

@ Chris: awesome glad that band slip is resolved. @Monica that is great that you're almost to goal. I'm about 30 to 35lbs from goal but I keep yo yo ing back and forth. Went on dessert binge and gained like 7lbs but I've been back on track for almost 2 weeks. Lost 4 of the 7 regained. I know if I buckle down and hit it hard I could lose little more. Band been tight this week but I'm pmsing and it's been hit so they think I'm dehydrating. I didn't know those 2 things can make band tighten. @Lisa congrats to you as well. Before you know it te 18's will be 14's. I was a 22W and 2x shirt, size 9 shoe. Now size 10/12 misses and M/L in shirts 8 to 8 1/2 in shoes. I can even wear the larger juniors clothes
  10. Ok so curious. It been hot here in the south east for past 2 wks and miserably so. I have not had fill in 2 mos and now lately my band I super tight and I'm nauseous during day. Yes I'm out working in this dreadful heat I'm not drinking any tea, lemonade or coffee cause doc says caffeine can dehydrate you etc. But I vomited 3x yesterday it was 100 degrees and this was after I drank half of mcdonalds wild berry smoothie. I've had these before with no problem. Within minutes of drinking felt like band was squeezing it and I didn't get relief til it came up. Prior to this I had been fine. I normally don't get nauseous, except when I eat too fast. Anyone else notice changes with hot weather?
  11. Thanks that may be it because I've been very very thirsty and had some swelling other day. I think I will buy a small cooler and keep in my car

    Alcohol?

Sorry for the typos. I mean 3 pounds and it's not worth it

    Alcohol?

I'm usually not a drinker but have had wine while out with friends recently and got tipsy pretty quick on 3 glasses of wine. Has to be lower tolerance. Also I gained about 3pm the wknd I did it donuts not worth all those extra calories an dehydration. I wouldnt mess with it so soon post op cause it can make stomach sick.
  14. Sounds like it could be. Just monitor it. You get all sorts of weird aches and pains in the stomach, rib and chest area. If it doesnt feel right or is unbearable check with doc. This band takes some getting used too, but you'll love it and at the same time hate it. Ive been banded for 8 1/2 months
  15. Wow I was told no straws forever. Said sucks air into stomach
  16. When I got stuck had to check my diet. Are u getting enough protein? Are u getting in enough calories? On e I got my 4th fill then things picked up. Plus when I eat enough to balance with calories used in exercise I do better. Sounds like u need a good fill. When I was eating Full meals that was sign not at restriction
  17. I had that same pain. They told me it was normal. The port and everything was settling in. I too couldnt take deep breath. Doc said nuthin to worry about. Think it went away after few weeks. Your insides have been through trauma. Everything has to settle back in place. Can't remember when it exactly stopped. I was banded 9 months ago. Just continue monitor yout symptoms. I was hypervigolent about every little twinge.

    Sept. 2010 Bandsters !!!

Yeah u gotta slow down. I know u want it bad, I do as well but aggressive workouts work at first then body adjusts. If you work out that much probably not getting enough calories. If your working out 1 hr a day or even 2 hrs per day probably need 1500-1800 cals. Body has to have fuel to burn. If you only eating about 800-1000 cals pe day a hard workout will eat up about 600 of them or more then you're not left with enough gas to make it throughout day. Outside of workouts your body burns calories to carry out metabolic functions also you walking from here to there, chores errands etc. Your body will go in starvation mode to protect itself and do opposite of what u think.

    Sept. 2010 Bandsters !!!

Honestly when I stopped being a piggy and eating more protein and doing shakes/smoothies. I did better. If your not losing and working ou you're probably not eating enough. With last fill I get alot more restriction. I get full fast and stay fill longer. Sometimes I slip and eat toouch junk food. I'm back running 3 dys per week which is a big help and I do zumba

    Sept. 2010 Bandsters !!!

I'm still here as well. Been chugging along. Had stalled at about 50lbs loss had no restriction. About 4th fill and doing more working out has helped. Just had 5th adjustmentment last month and getting some restriction. Im down 70 lbs with 35 to go. I would do better if I stop being a greedy girl. I'm please with my body changes though. Went from 22W to a 10/12 misses. Shoes are from 9 to 8 or 8 1/2
  21. I had my first episodes after a few months starting 2 weeks ago. I got french toats stuck early on but it was just sharp pain in upper part of band, no biggie. still able to eat bread and wraps. It depends on how filled you are. My recent episodes of being stuck for real happened after my 5th fill. I am now getting restriction. I tried to eat and drink something and let me tell you, BAD IDEA. I cried and was stuck for 2 hours. It hurt, my mouth got frothy and watery and I prayed for vomit to relieve the pain! Not to be gross but I vomited slimy mucous and saliva, then finally the food came up. I ate too fast and shouldnt have drank right behind it. 2nd and 3rd time it was due to same thing. Im learning. Also it was due to me eating too fast and not chewing food enough, just being plain ol greedy and doing my old fat girl habits. I will say that what gets one person stuck may not be you. I still eat bread and wraps but very little and I eat it slowly and have a smaller piece. I eat all meats but where I used to be able to down 6 wings in a sitting, plus fries and biscuit and drink; I can only eat 2 wings slowly and maybe a 1/8 cup of any type of side and then im full as a tick. I cannot eat an entree and I hate that some resturants told me no to ordering kids meal.
