  1. I self paid for my band and so I was devastated when it slipped and broke apart. I had a revision and I am so glad I did. I understand your concerns about money. I felt guilty spending all this money on surgeries that could have gone to other things (like a bigger house that we really need). I decided that my health was important. We spend money on cars, vacations, and all sorts of other things. Don't feel guilty. You are worth it! HUGS.

  2. I had a revision from the band to the sleeve. The only complication I had was that one of my incisions came open. The cause of this was going back to work after two weeks and a pair of pants I wore kept rubbing against the incision. I just had to be careful and keep it covered. It healed fine. Other than that, the rest was just discomfort from having surgery that was mostly cured with pain meds. I do remember having some "head" hunger issues from not eating, but I physically was not hungry. There were days when I felt weak, but I got some Five Hour Energy and it really helped. I recall feeling better each day and when I could eat real food again, I started to feel like myself. The weight loss really keeps you motivated. I agree that any pain is worth it!!!

  3. So sorry you are going through this. I think the best thing to do is to move forward and see if you can find a way to revise to the sleeve. I was self pay for my band in Mexico (and I had a good experience there), but my band just didn't work for me. I revised to the sleeve and have been so successful. There is still hope for you. Many of us have had revisions to the sleeve after paying $8,000-10,000 for our bands. It is so hard to lose that kind of money, but it is just a chance you take to be healthy. Start researching revisions so you can make your dreams come true! The sleeve works, so don't give up!

  4. The sleeve has been one of the best decisions of my life! The sleeve will help you get control over your food issues so that you can lose the weight and keep it off. I know it is a big decision to have the surgery, but it is so worth it. I never felt full until I had the sleeve. It is so nice to know that I have this tool to help me for the rest of my life. I completely recommed the sleeve!!! Good luck on your journey.

  5. Of course we will support you! I think it is great for us to be there for each other. I wanted to thank you for sharing this. Today was NOT a good day for me since I was around some amazing food at my inlaws. I was snacking all day and I ate way too much. Seeing this is helping ME get back on track too. I know you can do this! Congrats on your baby boy!

  6. I know I have heard many other sleevers share that they have had my issue of always being cold. Please tell me any ideas you have tried to help you stay warm. I am thinking of buying an electric blanket with a gift card I got for Christmas. Anyone else try this? It seems lately that I am super cold and it is driving my hubby crazy since he hates being hot. LOL

  7. It is normal to hit stalls. I think just about everyone hits some sort of stall around three weeks. I had a huge stall in November at 11 months post op. The scale didn't go down, but everyone kept asking me if I had lost more weight. I was losing inches. Just keep following the rules and the scale will drop again.
