    Houston Texas Vertical Sleeves.

Do any of you go to support groups?
  9. I had my endoscopy today and next week I will meet with my doctor to get a date! While waiting for my endoscopy (which took forever due to some delays), I met a few people who had also had complications with their bands. It made me feel so at peace with my decision to go with the sleeve. What was I thinking getting this foreign object in my body??? Just wanted to share how excited I am! Thanks to all those who have shared their revision journeys. I will share mine as well when the time comes.

  11. Hope you are a BIG loser really soon! LOL Good luck with your recovery!
  12. Oops meant to say, I hope WE can both get Christmas dates!

  13. I have a broken lapband, so the process is a little easier for revision to the sleeve. I have had every test and they submitted everything to the insurance. I have a doctor appointment Saturday to find out my date. I will let you know more if I find anything out. I hope you can both get Christmas dates!

  14. Hi there!

I am a Texas teacher too. My surgery should be around the Christmas break, too. We happen to have two and a half weeks off, so I hope that is enough time to recover. I don't want to pass out in front of my second graders! LOL Your high school students are really going to notice once you start losing all the weight! Good luck~

I should be in December. I am hoping for a date over the Christmas holidays since I am a teacher. I find out Saturday when I see my doctor! Good luck. The big day will be here before you know it!

    Endoscope

I just had mine last Wednesday. It was pretty easy. You fall asleep and don't really remember a thing! I have had a little heartburn, but nothing TUMS couldn't take care of. I do have a band, so that could be the reason for the heartburn. I am so excited to get my sleeve, too!

    Cindy's Story

We are here for you! You don't live far from me, as I am from Houston. You absolutely should do this for yourself! You are worth it. Message me anytime. I am in the process of revision from a failed painful lapband to the sleeve.
  19. Thanks for the supportive comments. I had to have the endoscope because my band was too high and my doctor wanted to verify a slip. Luckily, I don't have erosion. I can't wait to have my lapband OUT!

    Pondering the sleeve

Hey there- Sorry I just saw this. I have not had my sleeve yet. I just had everything submitted for insurance approval. I do have a similair complication of my tubing coming detached and poking me everywhere! SO painful that I am often in tears. I have been researching and I feel the sleeve is right for me. I know how hard it is to go through a failed lapband. You have all of these high hopes, pay all of this money (I was a self pay for the band due to an ins. exclusion), and then everything goes WRONG! Hang in there! Message me anytime you need someone to talk to!

    Here is my story....

Hi there and welcome! I am having revision probably mid-December. I have had all sorts of problems with my band. First, it had a leak, then it slipped, and finally the tubing completely came detached from the band and is floating around in my stomach. I was self pay for my band and it is so frustrating to put all that money into something that fails you and then causes you health issues, as well. I am so fortunate that my insurance no longer has an exclusion and that I was able to find a revision doctor. I hope you continue to do well with your recovery. We are so glad you joined the forum!
