  1. WELCOME-Congrats on your journey to get well! As far as which surgery to get, I have not been successful with my lapband and I am having it removed and switched over to the sleeve next week. Many others on the forum have had revisions as well. One thing that I really noticed about sleeve patients is how truly happy they are. This forum is so supportive because most everyone is experiencing success. With the band, there are so many different issues that can go wrong. Plus, you have a 85% chance of having some sort of corrective surgery within ten years. I really wish I would have known about the sleeve three and 1/2 years ago when I had the band. Had I known, I would have NEVER had that thing put in my body. I will be happy to talk with you more after I have my surgery. Good luck with everything! : )

I am so embarrassed- not exercising

I joined the YMCA when I first had my lapband surgery. I really love working out there and continued to do so until my lapband broke and caused me major pain. I met so many nice people there and the teachers are all so great. I mainly go to the classes and I grew to love spinning class. I am not good at pusing myself, so working out at home just doesn't work. The teachers in the classes motivated me to keep going, without the harshness of a personal trainer. If I didn't feel up to it one day, I could take something calm like yoga or pilates. I really miss it and can't wait to get back as soon as I heal. The Wii Fit seemed fun at first, but I got pretty sick of it fast. We have all these wworkout games I tried and now they are just collecting dust. I hope you can find your grove! Good luck!!! : )

  14. I hope I can go back January 5th (We have the 3rd and 4th off for bad weather days that we didn't need). I will see how I feel. I left emergency sub plans for three days just in case I don't feel up to it. ONE MORE WEEK!

    I am sleeved and alive!

Congrats on being sleeved! I hope you continue to recover well.
  17. Call them. It could be a mistake. I have had lots of claims filled with the wrong code and then they will refile them and cover it. Remember their goal is to make money and you sometimes have to fight them. Ask to speak to a supervisor if they give you the run-around. That is strange they are saying it tis a pre-existing condition. I would investigate that! Wish you the best of luck!

    So excited....

The time will FLY by. Trust me. I have had to wait since September for my final insurance approval and it really has gone by fast. The good thing about having the time is that you can research and prepare yourself. I went through phases where I was so scared, but now I am mainly excited. Yea on getting your date!

    Help

I understand feeling like a failure. I live with that everyday since I have a failed lapband. I do think you need to look at your accomplishments though. You are in one-derland. That is HUGE. I dream of being in the one-hundreds. Forty pounds in six months is great. You are NOT a failure. You are doing well!!! Be proud of yourself.

    Any December Sleevers?

Me too! It will be hard to do the liquid diet with all of my family's great treats, but at least it is for a good cause!
