I was about 214lbs and I starting to have a lot of health problems my Blood Pressure was high my legs where swollen and I was afraid of what could happen to me as I got older.  My mom has diabetis, she is considered leagally blind, she has high blood pressure, neuropathy a complication from her diabetis, oh an d she also has heart problems.  I always worry about her and was starting to get more worried that this can all be me as I get older.  I have a family a great husband and two daughters.  I wanted my daughters to see that you do not have to be overweight and that you need to believe in yourself.  I had tried to lose weight with weight watchers but I was on medicine that can make you gain weight and hard to loss weight.  That is when I decided to look into to having the lap band surgery.  As sohon a I went to find out more information about the surgery I decided that I wanted to have it done.  So I started my journey. I felt like my surgery date would never get hear but then before you know it I was having it done.  My family has been so supportive I could not ask for a better support group then them.  They help me through every hurdle and want to know what happens when I go to the doctor for my fill.  I did have one issue with my last fill where I could not keep anything down and had to go back to the dr the following day to have it removed.  I have been learning how to live with the band.  I never want to be the person I was before the surgery so I am really working hard on losing the weight and keeping it off. This is a way of life for me now and I am happy about it.
