  1. Thanks everyone! I hate this waiting game yes, insurance has 30 business days to approve but im just so anxious and want them to say yes now! hehe I had to do the 3 month diet and psy eval. Thats it so far and a 2 week liquid diet before surgery. I hope thats all...so you can imagine the patience I do not have right now since I already waited 3 months. Im just so anxious and Dec is going to be a crazy month and my doctor only does surgery on Mondays and there are only 4! thanks for letting me vent too :crying:
  2. My paper work was faxed over yesterday! So now im playing the waiting game too ughh i hate waiting! Dec is a very busy month for me and since my doc only does surgery on Mondays there are only 4 in DEC :crying: ughhhh I have BCBS IL PPO and was told it could take up to 2-4 weeks. They have 30 business days to respond and hopefully they respond soon and don't deny :w00t:
  3. So...yesterday was my 3rd appoitment, now it's a waiting game! Doctor office has to get papers together and send to insurance for approval. Im alittle down now because the office said if it gets denied we will try again and you will have to come in for one more appoitment to show insurance you are serious! I AM SERIOUS! Anyone have BCBS PPO in IL and how long did it take to hear back from insurance. I heard it can take 1- 6 weeks! depends on what though? So upset, now I just want to eat
  4. Ahhh me too! im so anxious and have little patience Tomorrow is my 3rd and last consultation. Then papers will be submitted for insurance approval! I hope it doesn't take more than 2 weeks for approval! I want to get it done end of Nov or atleast Dec, my doctor only does surgery on Mondays tho :hi: Im graduating Dec 18 with my undergrad and hope I will be okay for that. Also, start my masters on Jan 3rd so I really don't have much time for recovery and ohhhh sooo anxious! *sigh* well see tomorrow
  5. I, myself will be banded hopefully in Dec! Im waiting for the 3 month diet that insurance requires to be over and then hopefully end of Nov I will know when my surgery date is. Im a bit scared but excited. Im also thinking bout not being able to eat on xmas or drink on nye  I hate waiting wish I could have done it earlier but the months are flying. This weekend I go in for my 2nd month follow-up and plan to schedule an early nov appt. ughhhh frustrating.
  6. Omg Im hoping to have the surgery in Dec or Jan! Because I need to do the 3 month "diet". Im going for my 2nd appt this month and then last appt in November. Hopefully it wont take long to get approved and Dec BooM! But I keep hearing more negative than positive lately on this site. What is going on? I hate pain, im a big baby and now am thinking do I really want to do this? Am I going to miss food and alcohol? Im afraid of being in paid and not being able to eat ANYTHING
  7. I'm nervous too! I can't imagine being knifed :smile2: that's what im mostly afraid of and that I won't be able to eat ANYTHING and always be sick I hope to a speedy recovery and no problems at all!
  8. That's a good question! I'm curious also, I will hopefully be banded in December :smile2: ughhh how are you dealing with waiting "purple"?
  9. Thanks Ladies! Yes, I can see the beer being a no no, because of the carbonation. I guess I will be a cheap date :smile2: But I can just picture myself standing there with a vodka tonic in a size 6 jean. I can not wait to get this over with. This 3 month "diet" is killing me...how are you ladies doing?
  10. I have not had the band done yet..... hopefully in Dec once insurance approves :smile2: But im wondering and afraid my social life will be ruined. Im only 22 so im still in the bar/club stage and is wondering how I will be able to have a cocktail or two? Does anyone still drink beer or mixed drinks? Can you even drink any of that? Does your band restrict it? I am looking forward to going to the bars/clubs in a sexy outfit tho It won't take me hours of trying to feel comfortable in jeans and a black shirt (to make me look slimmer) cant wait
  11. NERVOUS!? I started CRYING! My doctor was so laid back and seemed so positive about this surgery for me that I think I was just so happy and nervous and couldnt help it but cry. He also showed me a before and after picture of a girl my age (22) and said the reason why she wanted surgery was so she could date. Her after picture was the night of before going on her date and I couldn't believe how happy and half the size she was. She reminded me of myself looks, size, and how I would of taken that picture pose. I havn't gotten the surgery yet Im waiting for approval and doing the 3 month diet so hopefully by DECEMBER! :rolleyes2:
  12. From what I hear it is best to avoid Mexico for LapBand. It is going to be hard to find a doctor that will follow-up with you and/or do adjustments (fills). I would just make sure you find a doctor around your area that will take you as a patient for fills and follow-ups :rolleyes2:
  13. Slpcat, Congrats on losing 50 pounds! I can't wait to lose 50 pounds! That is what I was thinking on tellling them before the surgery and then after the surgery im hoping ill be able to eat alil more than just nibbles. How long did it take you to eat a meal after surgery, if you dont mind me asking?
  14. Kristy is correct! Atleast that's what my doctor told me. They take your starting BMI and weight. Also, insurance sees it as maintaining the weight off as well as losing it. They look at the long run also. I only have 3 months pre-op and can't stand waiting! Im trying to enjoy food before the surgery but still working out and watching what I eat because I wont be eating the same after surgery. It is recommended you lose weight to shrink liver and you will have less complications.
  15. Im asking myself the same question! My immediate family knows and fiance. I want to keep it a secret from my friends because I want to surprise them and have them wonder lol Also, I see them a couple times a month due to work and school and just busy schedule so it will just seem like I have been trying to lose weight and time has passed by. But my quetion is what do I tell my co-workers and boss? I gave my boss a heads up for Dec or Jan I will be taking a couple days off but im not sure when until insurance approves and I set the date. She keeps asking me silly questions like are you getting a nose job, boob job, stomach stappled, hair implants, botax, sex change I just told her she will see after a couple of months. Now what about the co-workers I eat lunch with? They will see that I will be on a liquid diet for the 2 weeks before surgery and couple weeks after. What do I tell them now?:rolleyes2:
  16. Yay! Nora! So happy to hear all the positive outcomes! and from what I hear Dr. Watkins is the way to go! Im super excited and I got an email back from Melody and my insurance accepts this procedure! But I have to do a 3 month diet So looks like Dec is the month for me! I'm getting really excited now!
  17. Nora, I am very anxious! I am still waiting for the call. Im going to call tomorrow morning. I hope my insurance covers it and if not o well im still going to do it! Money will not hold me back lol Im kind of nervous but excited! Yes, the staff and doctor seem very nice! I was speaking with one of his sec for a while and she was very informative and answered questions straight forward. Is your port in you belly button? I'm kind of afraid about being able to see the port or feel it. Or the scars? Dr Watkins says they are very small and when I am going to run around in a bikini you will not be able to see it! hehe he's very nice and funny also. I noticed you are around the same age as I am and he mentioned that most of his successful highest/fastest weight loss patients are young like me. I hope it will work for me. How are you feeling?
  18. Hi Nora, Glad to hear the surgery went well! Even happier to hear that you had it done by Dr. Watkins. I actually met with him yesterday and he mentioned he did 2 surgerys in the morning. Amazing one was you and I found you on this website! I'm really excited and almost 100% sure im going to go with the procedure! How long did it take for you to get the procedure done after your first consultation? Did your insurance cover it? Im waiting for a call back from the office with an answer regarding my insurance coverage! I hope to get it done in November latest December hopefully. This forum is great....lots of different stories and my questions are getting answered
