I heard that pretty much everyone gets a hernia repair while surgery! You will also have left shoulder pain which is from the hernia repair.

I did it!!!! my boyfriend thinks im crazy because I wouldnt give up! I kept wiggling it and then finally it came out from the bottom....yup the bottom hole was closed. I think it took like 20 minutes lol but phew its in there because I really didnt want to go back and get it re-done and then another scar around the belly button! but my incision is looking pretty good now and plus the ring is covering it alil But hopefully in the end it will all go away! I cant wait to start putting mederma on it so hopefully i wont have a scar. Do you have a scar?

Wow I cant believe a grandparent would say that. People can be so evil, even family! So sad, but now you will be losing weight and she will still be miserable and jealous I can't believe she would say that. It hurts, I know because in the past I have had my aunt say some nasty things to me but now she is happy for me and can't wait to show her my body in a couple of months! Think positive!

Thanks everyone! That's what I was thinking, maybe 1-2 times a week for lunch. Yes, they do have a lot of sodium. But I go in for my 1st fill Jan 22 so I will ask then! So excited to start loosing weight. I have been up and down since surgery Dec 20th and I know I shouldnt be worried about losing right now just healing but I am anxious lol

Was wondering if frozen dinners like smart ones, lean cuisines would be good to eat? Does anyone rely on those for lunch or dinner? Portion would be perfect since they are small.

I thought the same about my belly button! But don't worry it will go back to normal. I was so mad about it cuz this procedure Is the single incision one and then when I saw my belly button I cried. I had it done dec 20th and it's not even been a month and it's going away. I think the dry blood is what made it look bad!

I look like a reptile! I drink plenty of water and my whole body is so flipping dry! Especially my legs and stomach what can I do?

Funny that I just tried doing that last night and it wouldn't poke through... Inserting front the top to bottom it goes half way through and then stops, seems like bottom is closed ugh annoyed! Thanks for the reply:)

Omg I never burped before I had surgery! Now while I eat I burp, hiccup or my stomach/ throat gurgles! It's weird what does that mean?

So I wad banded on the 20th and my belly button looks weird! Is it going to be noticeable when the swelling and scars go away? Also I still can't Put my belly ring back in. It looks like the hole is closed? I don't know If I'm still swollen tho?

I was told that it was ok for the dressing to come off. The nurse actually took the strips off for me on one off my little incision.

I just took all my steri strips off! Looks weird I hope my belly button scabs go away quick

I can't describe the feeling but my port site is feeling weird! It's kind of hurts I still hAve the steri striPs on and I was banded on the 20th my stomach looks alil swollen and it's hard . Also I get this stinging feeling and I just want to scratch. Did I irritate it and hurt the band?

Thanks Dave!! It happened again tonight at dinner so I stopped eating and I didn't get to that hurtful shoulder pain as much. It was mild I knew to stop! Ugghh it's a learning procedure

It's been like 6 years but I tried to put it in and it didn't go through.... I was probably swollen. I'm going to try again on a couple days I just got banded the 20th

I just got banded dec 20th and I am getting pain in my left shoulder sometimes while eating and after eating. Sometimes I will get pain under my left rib cage. Is this a signal telling me to stop eating? Well I do! Am I always going to get this signal? Also I have no restriction so that's y I'm wondering y am I getting this pain?

Im looking at my belly button and noticing my hole might have closed or am I still swollen? Was anyone able to put their belly ring back in with no problem?

I just had surgery on dec 20th..and im looking at the incisions in my belly button and now am wondering if my belly button will go back to looking normal. Did yours?

Hey, I had surgery on monday too. Im sore around my bellybutton and my chest. Can you breath normal? My chest/.lungs hurt alil but the doctor said thats normal its kind of scarey! but everyday im getting better. Im also afraid to drink to much and swallow lol

Ahhhhh! Im gaining weight too! I keep eating everything and anything because i tell myself i wont be able to after surgery. My surgery is Dec 20th and will have to do a 2 week liquid diet so I figure I can stuff my face now until then. I know it's bad!

Hehe you have no patience just like me! My doc office sets the date after knowing if approved. I had to do the 3 month diet and then papers were submitted to insurance so you can probably see how my patience are doing. But it only took 4 days for approval with no problem. Now my surgery is Dec 20th due to my schedule and the doc's but Im HAPPPPPPY!

I am having surgery on Dec 20th! My surgeon only does surgery on Mondays so that is the only monday available. I graduate the 18th from college so I am very busy until then! I am super excited but nervous. Does anyone find themselves eating more and treating yourself more than before since surgery is getting closer each day. I need to stop telling myself its okay to eat this because I wont be able to after :thumbup:

OMG! I am approved! I called my insurance today and they said I was approved today! wow only took 4 days. My papers were submitted monday the 8th and approved the 12! This totally made my weekend! Time to Celebrate So my next appt is Nov 29th to go over the Pre-Op and SURGERY IS DEC 20! woooooooooho! Now I have to change my signature

Omg I have BCBS IL too! I hope mine takes that quick for approval. Just called my insurance and they received it yesterday...I hope they will approve soon Can I ask where you are getting your surgery done at?
