  1. I would contact Cigna to find out what exactly their requirements are. Ask if they could send you the requirements in writing either email or snail mail. I have UHC and I called to ask what the requirements were as what was online was vague and cryptic. I spoke with a coordinator and she sent the info via email and snail mail. So I had both. The insurance coordinator with my surgeon's office even had the requirements and I received those as well. So I was aware of the requirements no hidden surprises that would delay my surgery.

    Good luck :)

  2. YAY! You are closer than I am, I have about -11lbs to get there, which at my rate will be almost eternity...lol. Congrats though, I hope you break through soon!!!

P.S. - You and my hubby have the same sleeve date...but he's only down about 55-60lbs...did you have a pre-op diet? He didn't so that's all been since surgery.

No pre-op diet here. Thats all since surgery. :) Which makes me appreciative of what the sleeve can do!!! :)

  3. I am so close to just being over weight. .8 till my BMI is under 30. Can't wait to see that. It seems like it has taken forever to leave the 43 BMI behind. I can't believe that I have lost 70 pounds! That's so hard for me to wrap my head around. I hope that by the end of the week I can say that I'm just over weight. LOL.... :)

  4. My labs after 6 months came back excellent. (PCP ordered labs for her record) As for being cold, I was a cold fat girl now I'm a cold (medium?) girl. Stricture, no. No ill side effects as far as I can tell. I feel GREAT! food tolerence issues- I do find I can not tolerate sweets. So to me that is a plus. I have no issues with any OTC pain meds. I sleep better now than I did 8 months ago. I will see my surgeon in October so we will see what he thinks.

  5. I had MASSIVE hair loss @ the 3-4 month mark. I do take 5000 mg of Biotin twice daily. My hairloss has went from uber hand fulls to just barely enough to cover the drain in the shower. I do have acrlyic nails and my nail tech has noticed that my nails under the acrylics has grown faster in the two week time frame that I go to see her. I also use Nutri-Ox Shampoo and conditioner every other day. Do not know if my hair is now out of the "resting phase" or not. I do see new growth all over but mainly at my temples. I am not selling the Biotin or the shampoo and conditioner just sharing what I use. Some experience no change when using any supplement or shampoo's. Other's swear by their routine and what they use. Good Luck!!!! :)

  6. Okay I have been on vacation since 8/30 and I GAINED 2.5 POUNDS!!!!!!!ARRRGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My fault so I have to take owner ship of this mess. Must have been the beers on the beach and the chips and salsa. Damn Coors light!!! LOL.... I am positive it will come off in a few days of not eating. Nothing is tasting any good. Don't want to upset my tummy anymore than it is. Sticking with the broth and a little yogurt.

Well to top it off I have a cold/flu. I so feel like POO!!!!!!! Ate or should I say I drank some chicken broth. Then some chobani yogurt. Lets not forget the Thera-Flu and Ricola!!!!!YUMMY!!!!! Can't wait till I feel better. Went and bought the kettlebell set and got a few dvd's for the workout. I so want to try them soon!!!!!!!!!!!

  7. Yeah I am going to look into getting reconstructive on everything. (maybe not everything, already had a TT years ago.) I found this wonderful plastic surgeron in the same buliding as my PCP. He accepts my insurance and so with fingers crossed I will be scheduling an appointment for a consult on what he can do and then speak with the insurance department on their billing procedures. I would like to hopefully schedule a late spring date. I am so hoping to be super near goal. :)

  8. I have a sister in law question me about my choice to have wls last year. She pointed out that I could die from THIS TYPE of surgery. I responded , "really?" Wow, did you know that I could drop dead from a stroke if I don't do something? Yep she shut up rather quickly. And to top it off she has been complaining about her weight. And how having a Tummy Tuck to lose her weight would solve her problem. I too thought that by having a tummy tuck that would eliviate my weight troubles. Yeah not so much. The weight came back to my legs and hips, face. And then to my abdominal area. The procedure I had is what is called a lower body lift. I spent major bucks to have that done. The weight came back in a little over a year. I tried to tell her that would not "cure her obesity" but if she wanted to spend major bucks to find out on her own then more power to her. So to say the least I haven't seen her in almost a year. (Thanksgiving to be exact) So lets see what she says this year when we all get together, I can't wait. ;)

  10. Hi everyone! My name is Debbie. My starting weight was 233. I have lost 65 pounds since my surgery in March. I'm 6 months out and I think I'm on target with the loss. In order for me to weigh 135 that I would love to see, I have 33 more pounds left to lose. However, if I push myself to go down to 130 that would be 38 more pounds. I will play this by ear to see where I land and feel comfortable. I know that bcp can hamper the weight loss. I decided to go back on them for hormonal reasons per my doctor. I don't know how much that will play in my overall loss month to month. Will keep everyone posted. (right now I am on vacation hubby will not let me around a scale until we are home. LOL.......) :)

  11. Depends on which policy your employer / spouse employer has. I'm covered under state employee policy. Which differs from policy to policy. I have a great policy. When I received the phone call the case manager informed me that a letter would follow. So depending on which policy would dictate what you would receive or not receive. As with anything each is different and experiences will differ as well. I didn't have any issues at all. However, If you can request the approval in writing do so.

  12. I agree Biotin 5000 is what I am taking twice a day. I also use Nutri-Ox Shampoo and conditioner. I have noticed my loss becoming less and less. I'm 6 months out. It hasn't completley stopped but it has cut the loss more than in half. Went from hand fulls to just enough to barely cover the drain in the shower. But again everyone is different. I will continue to take the Biotin and using the shampoo and conditioner. Good luck! :)

  13. Today I had my annual visit with primary for physical. We discussed plastics and she documented the fact that my "bat wings" pull and it is painful. As for my boobs, she documented that I have back pain and the excess skin pulls and is very painful. There is a rash developing. So this is a good start. She is in favor of the plastics. She was impressed that I lost 9 pounds in a month. I go back to see my surgeon next month. I'm hopeful that I will be at least halfway to goal by then. :) (Fingers crossed) ;)
