Hi my symptoms of slippage were reflux during the day sometimes, but every night would wake up caughing bringing up bits of food or would wake up with liquid coming out of my nose. I was too tight for to long and I think this is what caused the sliip and stretched pouch, I kept telling my Doc I was to tight but he would only take a bit out at a time. Make sure you get an unfill to the point that you have no reflux at all. Good Luck.

Hi
Thanks for the replies. I have to have another barium swallow at the end of October to see if my slip has fixed its self and go back to see my doctor in early November. The feeling I had when my band slipped was vomiting and bad reflux during the night I also had heartburn during the day but the reflux at night was really bad I would wake up with liquid coming out of my nose, and that was even with having my last drink about 7 or 8pm. Hope all of you with slips are doing well keep us informed as to how you are going.

Hi
I have just found out on Friday I have a slipped band, my band has been totally unfilled, so my question is should I be on liquids or what kinds of foods should I be eating, my doc said I could go on a liquid diet but did not seem fussed weather I did or not, so I wanted to know what other people have done when they had a slipped band.
thanks

Hi congrats on having the surgery, yes it will be hard to stick to liquids for 6 weeks, and yes you might find yourself getting hungry if you do just drink more. No your craving for sweets won't go away, but they may be less often than before. If you work with the band it will work, but you have to choose the right foods and excercise often. So even though at times it will be hard it will be worth the hard work to get your health back.

My son has a Wii, that sounds like good fun and a different way to excercise, I will have to try it.

I take lots of different sized pills every day, my multivitam is like a horse pill and have never had a problem.

I have been banded for 6 months now and I have not stoped having the Depo needle.

my weight was the same today, I haven't cheated yet, I am determined to get some weight off before my holiday in November. I didn't have a pre-op diet either luckily as I think I would have cheated too.

Hi Mary....I'm on day 2 today and must say I didn't have Breakfast today, a bit early for Soup, I had some at 11am. I am not going to worry about my Protein this week and thought if I do it next week I might add some meat to the soup, don't know if I will be able to stick to the diet next week as I go for a fill on tuesday, I might make the soup a blend it to liquid, don't worry about the banana it wont hurt.
Day 2 196.24lbs

day 1 199.98lbs

Hi... I just wanted to say everyone is going really great with their workouts and weight loss it's good to see, this tread has helped me stay motivated. I got up at 5am this morning to do my workout on the treadmill which went well untill I got to the 55 minute mark when it started to slow down on it's own and started to smell like something was burning:confused: so that's great just when I was really getting into working out now I will have to wait untill the weekend when my dad can have a look at it. So I guess I will have to find another way to workout It's winter here in Australia so can't walk outside as It has been raining for the last 2 weeks. So I guess I will be doing workout video's or riding my stationery bike that gives me a sore butt. As for periods I'm on the Depo Provera Injection so I don't get any periods.:scalesno:

Hi All,
I had my second fill last week and I cannot keep a thing down, Tonight for example I hand 2teasponns on baked Beans within 10mins and I was in pain and vomiting, contant reflux, I can't eat a thing and drinking is getting hard, worse at night than during the day. It constantly feels like something is stuck unless I vomit it up. Really worried calling my doc tomorrow. Anyone else experienced this?????

Hi
Yes this has happened to me I had a fill at 11.30am and by about 2pm I couldn't even swallow my saliva, it was terrible I met my Doc at 7pm to get an unfill and it was instant relief. sounds like you need an unfill too ring your Doc and let us know how you go.

Congratulations on being banded, good luck on your journey

Hi Tracymcp....I know what you mean about the wrong foods go down without a problem, since my last fill I have had a lot of meat getting stuck, it is my fault as I musn't be chewing enough but it's hard to get used to.
I'm glad you spoke to your surgeon and he is willing to do your bypass at no extra cost. Good luck with everything and don't forget to keep us posted on how your going re removal of your band and bypass surgery.

Hi sounds like your band is too tight, I have had those same problems when my band was to tight. You need to get some Fluid taken out, I stayed tight for to long and now my band has slipped. Good Luck
