  1. gets better with time. stay encouraged & be strong.

    Hi guys sorry for lack

of updates, been having a bad time of it. Supposed to be going hone tommorrow but looks like things have been delayed a bit. Up with diarrhea and very bad pain in tummy all night, the wound sites are very sore. Missing the morphine a lot, doesn't seem like the paracetemol is cutting it. Had 2 spoons of porridge today. It went right through me but felt ok to eat. Cathader is out now thank god so able to go toilet when I like. Physio have me walking the corridors to kill the stiffness. Hopefully feel much better soon.

  2. awwwww, no problem. we can use a boost and lots of help. very good info the website has.

Wow, thanks Blaqbeary. I love the fact tht this site has been broken down into catagories and you can select the surgery that you're having and check out the nutrion and diet for the sleeve. GREAT INFO, I'm with you, I'm printing the booklet as a guide. Thanks for sharing!!!:(

  3. I kind of think Kaiser should slow down with classes so Pacific and Kaiser catch up.

my consultation went well, but it was on august 23rd and i still don't have a surgery date. pacific bariatric has been overwhelmed with kaiser patients and they've fallen behind. so, i'm waiting in line to be called to schedule my surgery. not happy.

  4. Wow!!!! Have you spoken to anyone? Is there a waiting list? Shoot I may not have surgery til next year.

OTE=kristykreem;80862]my consultation went well, but it was on august 23rd and i still don't have a surgery date. pacific bariatric has been overwhelmed with kaiser patients and they've fallen behind. so, i'm waiting in line to be called to schedule my surgery. not happy.

  5. @kristy - how was your consult with Pacific Bariatric? I am waiting for another week for Kaiser to send them authorization #.

hey, y'all --- member services is who tells you about your

pacific bariatric is a three-day stay, so i think it's two nights and the third day is the day i go home. i'll know for sure after my day there on the 23rd and i'll let you know what i find out.

  6. Wow!!!! I am in total agreement. This is the way Ive been thinking. If you want something in your life that will give you the ULTIMATE satisfaction then make food an associate not a friend. For the next two months I have to stay focused. This is a Huge decision we are making for our lives. Its time we give back to our bodies and treat it with the respect we like for others to treat us.

Keep your eyes on the prize! Girl you know this isn't about "sucks" its about success so focus and get your mind right.

I'm not quite 3 months post op, but I've discovered on this journey its all pretty much a mind game. Keep your thoughts and self talk positive, be your own cheerleader, and be kind to yourself. It will all be fine and you'll excel!

  7. yes i am truly excited. I have noticed eacn facility operates differently. We completed labs throughout the program so the doctor could watch how we were doing. For example, I am anemic and now I am required to take 2 Iron pills a day to build my blood.

BlaqBeary awesome news so happy for u! Well I am on week 11 now...have class tonight. Yes almost done. I went to the orientation at Pacific Bariatric and it seems like an excellent hospital. Unfortunatly I did talk to the case manager and she said we have to wait until we are done with class to do labs. Right after the last class we see the pcp and they will give us the green light to get labs done...I am ok now bc it has gone by fast...2-3 more months should be cake!!

  8. There is always a reason to be happy. Such an inspiration.

...I don't post over here much anymore, but I spend a lot of time over on obesityhelp.com. I Celebrate my nine month anniversary from surgery today. I can't believe it's went by so darn fast. I'm down a total of 104 pounds (16 pounds preop), and I feel great. I track my food, and I weight daily. For the most part, I concentrate on Protein and low carbs. But, I don't deprive myself of anything as I simply love food. In fact, I had half a cupcake today at a lunch, and I tracked it too! I just don't make bad choices back to back or on a consistent basis. Here's the latest before (day of surgery) and after (today!) photos.

  9. Now that I have completed classes to prepare me for surgery, what can I do to get the rest of the weight off before the sleeve procedure? I have this edema issue with my ankles & feet; diurectics doesn't work. I only lost five pounds in the 12 weeks required. I want to lose at least 15 more. I no longer want to feel anymore discouraged about the weight not coming off from Water. I basically have six weeks and I know I can get it off, even if its just water weight.

    Thanks. Krys

  10. Well Well it is over. 12 weeks of watching, logging and exercising and watering my body. I got my certificate.

With this edema I didn't lose much, but according to what is still to happen, I have six more weeks if all goes as planned and surgery could be some time in November with Pacific Bariatric. All paper work has been with PB for a couple of weeks. The only thing I need is the authorization for my one day consult in San Diego. Once Kaiser finishes there reviews I could be on my way.

    I am truly excited.

  11. Hey Everyone It's been a minute and tonight is the last night of Options. Whewwwww!!!!! Signed the release for records form for Pacific Bariatric and waiting for authorization number from Kaiser to have the one day consult in San Diego. We were that if all goes well, surgery can be in exactly six weeks, which will be November 1. I sure hope so; in my case anyway.

I hope everyone is doing great in whatever stage you are in, be it pre or post surgery.

  12. Have u tried using Biotin.Target has it for $5 with 60-90 softgel tablets. The brand is Nature Made. Its fpr the hair, nails and skin.

ugh, i'm a weirdo! I love Bariatric Advantage Protein powders! I'm 8 months out and still drink it! I love to mix it with 0% milk and add extracts to it or Peanut Butter with flax seeds, or almond butter, or make milkshakes with bananas or strawberries, or add it to plain yogurt. . . . ahhhhh the life of a weirdo! hehehehe . . .

PS: the Protein hasn't helped my hair from falling out though, that is another story! Nothing has helped in that area, but at least i'm not bald yet! thinned out but not bald!heheh

  13. go to the top of the threads. you will find answers to your questions. also search particular words. good luck to you. my 12 and last week is monday.

    o

SO I am in week 8 of the options class. I am wondering a few things. How long does it take after you end the class, about,. to get your surgery?? It seems as though San Diego seems to be the best option. SHould I contact them before I get the referal? How does that work? Some insight would be rad.

Wha kind of test do they do? as much detail would be great
