  1. Too tight or green spot??? I am so glad glad that someone else has this question instead of just me. When I went and got last fill, my doctor told me that he felt sure that I would be near reaching my green or sweet spot (some people call it sweet).lol...He also told me to be very careful as far as making sure I chew my food enough and to take small bites and also let each bite go down before I take another. I can tell you this...He was not lying...I haven't had this much restriction since right after I had my surgery. I believe I have reached my green spot even though at first I thought he had me too tight. Every morning when I get up I have to take small sips until I get loosened up some. Most days I have a Protein Shake later in the morning like 10:00 or so. Then I usually eat a meal later in the afternoon like 4:00 or so. Some nights I will have a shake before bed and then some nights I don't have anything because I am not hungry.

  2. I have been reading a lot of negativity on the boards lately and thought I'd start a 'positive thread' for a change. I want to thank each and every member of this forum for inspiring me to take my lap band journey. I have read the good, the bad, and the ugly on this board and must have looked at the before and after pics a million times. I started exercising last week after my post op appt and discovered a strength within myself that I never thought or even dreamed I had. It has not always been a picnic, but when I find myself slipping into a negative frame of mind, I think about my reasons for doing this in the first place... my long term goals and how much I have already changed not just physically but mentally. If I wouldn't have had this surgery... I would be 23lbs heavier right now still sitting in my jammies on the couch with no plan for the day but sleeping and eating. That is no longer good enough for me. I want more... I DESERVE more and so do you. We all have the strength and drive within ourselves to make this work for us. Yeah, there is some food choices we'd rather not make, but if left to our own choices... we'd never change our habits. I am trying to teach my teen daughter that part of growing up is maturing and recognizing... that we may have to make choices in our life that are not fun, tasty, or easy but if she just sticks with it... the rewards will far out weigh any bump she may have to overcome along the way.

You never know how strong you can be... until you have to be. Everyone of us has the power within ourselves to live the life we dream of. Some of us will even make it happen. I intend to be one of them.

Have a great week everyone. Much love to all my bothers and sistas in the 'Band'. B) :welldoneclap:

Thanks so much for these inspiring words. I was talking to a friend of mine this morning who also has the band. She was giving words of encouragement to me also. I think that it is very important to be able to talk to fellow lapbanders. Thanks again

  3. I would appreciate your input...I'm six months out from surgery, have had 2 fills and have not lost even 1 pound since I went to solid foods. Very often at the beginning of a meal I get "stuck", but it will either pass, or I can vomit-move it, and then I can finish the meal with no further problem. am I just eating too fast to start? I'm trying to go slow, but obviously I'm hungry at that point so I can tell when I'm digging in. I think I'm too tight, until I realize I can eat more than I'm supposed to be able to eat once I get unstuck. Then I think I might need a fill since I can eat large portions, although I don't do that anymore. Getting some self control seems important. :)

This happens to me also. I had my surgery 14 months ago and I was losing very good at the beginning but now it is not happening. I have PB's from either eating too fast or not chewing long enough at the start of my meal. After the PB, I am able to finish my meal. I just keep thinking that the weight will start coming off again.
