  9. I take Plavix. I have always stopped it 5 days prior to surgery, and inject Lovenox instead. Post WL surgery, I went back on Plavix as soon as I left the hospital ( they injected Lovenox in the hospital). Post tummy tuck, I had to continue Lovenox for another 5 days at home. Susan

    I feel let down!

I have heard of that, and recommended it to mother. I used to do the Leslie Sansone dvd "Walk away the Pounds". It is very low impact too.... I got mine on ebay super cheap. I would just pop it in the DVD and do it my living room. You can find these walking at home videos on you tube. On the days that weather discourages me from walking outside or going to the gym, I search these on you tube. I have found 45 minute 3 mile walk at home as well as 1 mile in 15 minutes. Just search "walking at home" or Try searching Zumba or yoga on you tube. There's a lot of options in there!! I find that no matter how down I'm feeling, once I get moving, I am feeling better after I exercise. Susan
  12. I haven't tried a firming cream, but I have noticed my neck improving in the last few months. At one year out, I was contemplating plastic surgery and would only take pictures from above, with my chin lifted to hide the sag. At two years out, I realize that it has improved a great deal and I'm no longer self conscious about it. I wouldn't discount a firming cream, but I can tell that time does a great deal of good for that area. (Keep in mind that I'm well pass the age of having resilient skin, so younger skin might have even better results) Susan

    My 600 pound life

@@holliwood1980 I have now watched 5 seasons of Fat Doctor. Plus gotten hooked on Empire. Hulu is addictive. Susan
  15. Try switching the chicken breast for thighs. I used to only eat white meat poultry but find the thighs are now a lot easier on my digestion. I prefer bone in, just remove the skin. Susan

    Blood thinners

I am on Plavix. 5 days pre surgery I injected Lovenox. Post surgery I went back on the Plavix. Just make sure your surgeon is aware what you are taking so that they can plan accordingly how to adjust your meds. Susan

    Military life after wls?

I had my surgery at a military treatment facility. Part of the pre op information we were given was that post bariatric surgery, a person is no longer qualified for military service. I don't know if it's the change in your anatomy or the restriction of your diet, but it is not compatible with military service. Susan
  19. Has anybody gotten their new belly button pierced post tummy tuck. I keep forgetting to ask my surgeon about it when I've been in for follow ups. Susan

@jamieligical Watching those milk diets make me even more thankful I didn't have a pre surgery liquid diet. Susan

    My 600 pound life

I have been binge watching Fat Doctor on Hulu. It does appear that these patients follow a different protocol after surgery. They none seem to follow a Protein first diet. I'm into season 3 now and am loving the skin removal and plastic surgery stories. It is so graphic! Susan
  22. I must be the exception. I hate my loose skin!!! I have had a tummy tuck and still when I look in the mirror, all I see are the areas that need fixing. I have loss 130 pounds so I am thrilled with the health benefits. I do an hour daily on the treadmill, and currently working on improving my time on an uphill 5k. At my 2 year follow up all of my blood work was perfect and my stamina and energy are way up. I would never trade the health benefits of this surgery, but I sure wouldn't mind being comfortable in a bikini! Susan
