  1. Ya see, that is the part I had a problem with, although I know other people didn't. I just felt like I had been struggling with this for almost 40 years, had tried everything, and was desperate enough to get a line of credit for surgery...I didn't think it was his place to decide "if I was ready".

Having said that, he is a very nice man, but way too busy. When I went to my consultation the assistant told me to bring my own lunch for the wait. Seriously? Who actually plans to be running that late! lol.

    Best wishes everyone.

  2. I had a slip. I have no idea how it happened. Then it caused a hernia type situation where part of my stomach sucked up through the band. I couldn't keep anything down. They did emergency surgery and were able to save my band. Since then I find I can t be filled more than 1.9 in my 4 cc band. I haven't really lost much more weight, but I wasn't really trying either. I maintained my goal weight. I find as long as I eat the recommended foods my band 'works' and if I snack all day on things I shouldn't have, I can eat forever! You can do it, don't worry about other peoples results. Just refocus and follow the rules. Keep us posted and good luck!

I have now decided I would like to lose 11 pounds to get to where my trainer says would be my 'ideal' weight. So...I am focussed. I am starting with a cleanse and detox...after Chirstmas I needed it! I will keep you posted!

  3. Hi everyone....hope you are all well. I am still doing well. Going up and down the same 8 pounds or so...oh well! I have just started a new countdown to get ready for the Dominican Republic...37 days left and would like to loose 8 pounds to put me at an all time low of 164.

    Take care everyone! :cursing:

  4. This happened to me and it was a slip. I would suggest only trying fluids about 1 0z at a time. My doc recommends coca-cola. If you are still sick tomorrow, go to emergency and get unfilled until the irritation subsides. I didn't and ended up in surgery. I hope it is nothing...remember we are all different. Also, this happens to me sometimes just before my cycle... best wishes.

  5. When I get stuck in a rut, I track my food again. Sometimes just making sure I am eating the right foods somehow makes my band work better. Can you go to the gym more often? What would motivate you? A trainer? Clothes, holiday?? You can do this, you have come so far...one day at a time my friend.

  6. lol....I know just how you feel. Just make sure you chew chew chew. When you start to get tight, take a break. For me the hickups mean I ate a bit too much too quickly. I try not to get the hiccups cause I am afraid that they may be harmful in a 'slippage' kind of way.

    I am happy for you!

  7. I feel qualified to say what I want here cause I have walked in your shoes. Here are a few thoughts...

Don't feel guilty, your pos husband didn't just destroy a marriage he also destroyed a family. You didn't. I felt guilty too and that my kids needed a father blah blah blah...Ya know what, they were better off with me - especially a happy healthy confidant me. You have a long journey ahead of you but start it now. It will give you something to focus on rather than the pain. Get counselling, if you can't afford it there is free counselling or support groups such as al-anon. Don't feel like you have to be nice to either of them. Forgiveness is something you will work out in your own heart, but that doesn't mean you have to let them back into your lives. If someone makes you feel bad, get them out of your life. You and your kids deserve better. Consider this perfect timing for your new life for you and your kids. You will get through this, one day at a time. Huge hugs.

  8. Hi everyone...just checking in to tell you about my HUGE victory. I entered a 56km ultramarathon that took place (mostly) on an old logging road. Both walkers and runners could enter so I thought I would give it a go. I trained both mentally and physically for months! I wanted to finish more than anything. I have - make that 'had' - this little voice in my head that said that I couldn't finish things I start, and I also wanted to prove to myself that I was healthy and strong. So I trained and trained...and finished an amazing 56th out of 455!!!!! I am so happy! Anything is possible when you believe in your goal and prepare yourself daily for positive results.

We bandsters have a new lease on life and we can do ANYTHING!!!!! Woo hoo! We deserve to be happy and healthy!
