    My Day has come !

All of a sudden I can feel a stomach ache coming on...maybe it hurts so bad that you should just have some soup!

    Mexico

If I had it to do all over again I would choose the same Dr. I used in Mexico. I was treated like a guest. Not one negative thing to say.

    My Life as a Bandster

Way to go Audree. You must be looking and feeling fantastic. I hope your mom is being supportive now! Sounds like you have a great husband. Me too! Having the right people in our lives makes all the difference doesn't it. As for my fill. It was completely painless. Really. It hurts more to go get blood drawn. It was really quick, about 5-10 minutes. I asked if I could see Dr. Miranda while I was there so I got to spend some time with her as well. (No extra charge) I walked across the border. I recommend doing this, but take a cab! I didn't take a cab on the way back and walked in circles for a while before I found the border. It probably wasn't very safe for me to do that, and I can assure you, some of the places I walked smelled really really bad. KW and Green- I am sorry to hear about you losing loved ones. I can only imagine how painful that is to watch and to be a part of. Big huge hugs to both of you. KW-Great news on the clothes. I LOVE that feeling, even if it means I have to spend more money on new clothes. Nothing makes me feel slimmer than feeling 'it' in my clothes. Green-I can't believe you don't have a scale. I am a slave to mine. I visit it every morning. I have tried not weighing, but I always gain weight when I am not weighing daily. It is hard to think that the day will come that weighing myself won't be the first thought I have when I wake up in the morning. GOOD FOR YOU! Mandi- The toast and PB didn't go down quickly. Probably ate it over an hour, but I was full/not hungry for about 4 hours. I think I am feeling a little more restriction. I hope I am good for a few months now. Thanks for your support and feedback. Byt he way, I agree about the ticker BMI, I am trying to focus on that rather than the amount I have to lose. Losing 10 BMI sounds easier than 100 pounds! Well, I can't believe it and I am almost afraid to say it, but we leave for China in 2 days. I am screaming inside my head. I am so excited/nervous/scared that I can hardly stand it. I have to work a long day today, and then tomorrow I will pack and buy groceries for my son, etc...then monday I work in the morning and leave at noon. I can't even fathom what it will be like. Thanks for all your feedback on that subject, I am suprised to realize that I almost didn't go! Bye for now!

    My Day has come !

Yasmina-You will be able to do it too! It's almost your turn to get the band, and before you know it you will be down 30, then 50 and so on. You and I have similar stats, so we can do it together! I guess the biggest thing is patience, and of course I have to work on patience! I want patience, but I want it right now! Bye for now! Victoria.

    Steady losers ;-)

Carol-you reminded me of that line in "The Devil wears Prada" where the girl was proud because she was 'one stomach flue away from her goal weight'. Hope you are feeling better!

    I'm Back!!!!!

Hi Khrissy, welcome back. How is your fill working out for you?

    Fill Doctors

I think Dr. Amson does them in Victoria (once you convince him that he is not the only one who can do lap band surgery). I am having a little stress on that front right now. I am also considering Dr. Neal in Washington state. Where do you live?

    Neenagh's Nutty Nattering

Have a great weekend...and I agree, no adjusting our tickers for 'speedbumps'. Good call!

    Banded 1/23/07

Carol...congrats! You are on the right track to changing your life in a very positive way! It is true what they say...if you don't have your health. Way to go. Proud of you!
  12. I haven't slimed yet, but I think it is a cross between throwing up and a fur ball! Shoulder pain...caused by the gases they use in the surgery. It is bearable, just do lots of walking and know that it will be over in a few days. Good luck!

    December Bandsters in January!

Hi everyone...I had my first fill in TJ and I am home safe and sound. I definatley feel more restriction but I am not uncomfortable. I am trying to record everything I eat to keep me on the right path. I am feeling good about myself and I hope you all are as well!

    My Life as a Bandster

You all are so sweet and take such good care of me. It really warms my heart. Thank you. My fill was done under flouro and I am sure he said he put two cc's in. Now I am second guessing myself! (I am a little nuerotic if you haven't noticed yet). I had it done monday morning and I was on fluids mon and tues. Wed I ate about 1/2 cup amounts at a time...maybe a little more, but grazed rather than sat down and ate a meal This morning I had a piece of WW bread, 1 tbsp penut butter and 1/2 banana for breakfast. I got hungry again around 1pm so I had 1 cup of ground beef with cheeze melted on top. Yummy. So far so good. I have to eat slowly and I get full very fast but that is the whole idea right? I have been reading a little about you all....Mandi and Yoda...wow..you are huge losers! xox Congrats. Audree...all went well except for my bright idea to walk everywhere I went. I have shin splints like you won't believe! Cloe...thanks for the love! I appreciate the advice. I hope restriction doesn't kick in while I am on my tip! I still can't believe I am going. We have almost the same goal weight...It will be fun to reach it together. Neenah...I can't wait to get to your starting weight! I am almost there! Glad you are doing well.

    My Life as a Bandster

Hi I'm back, tired and broke! But I have my fill! I don't really feel any different which freaks me out a little. He put 2cc's in my 4cc band. Maybe it will 'kick in' in a couple of days. I am glad I went ot TJ for this first fill, but like Brenda recommended, I will find someone around here to do the rest of them. I am off to work now, will write more tonight and catch up with everyone.

    Surgery Question ?

I also had some anti-anxiety medication from my Dr. It helped get through the nerves and helped me sleep. I brought liquid tylenol 3 with me, but didn't have to open it.

Holy Ticker Yoda! Wow! You are doing great! Congrats on the new clothes.

    Steady losers ;-)

BK-I agree with Steph on this one...something has gotta give girlfriend! I am a very busy person, and it probably feels like you can handle it, but anything you can do to simplify your life right now will be of great benefit for you. Make sure you are taking time for yourself, even if it is just a walk, or a bath. I also recommend filling your head with healing, nurturing, loving thoughts... maybe a motivational / inspirational book or "book on CD". I gained and lost 4 pounds over the last couple of weeks. I wouldn't worry too much about it, it is probably just your body's way of adjusting to the new eating regime. You are an awesome person...remember that, and again, PLEASE, take some time to recharge your batteries. Steph... thanks for the tips. I am leaving soon for my first fill...:help: soon it will be all over and I am sure everything is fine...I just keep telling myself that! Thanks again.

    My Life as a Bandster

Audree...I am sure you are doing great. I stopped losing for a couple weeks when I went back on solids, but my clothes kept getting looser, so it is all OK. I leave for my fill in a couple hours...a bit nervous...but I am looking forward to having it behind me. I have terrible flight connections, but I got a really good deal. I will just bring a book...or two. Wish me luck and please send warm fuzzy thoughts so that I can keep my neurtic side (ie...what if my band slipped) under control. xoxo

    December Bandsters in January!

Kirsten...thanks, this is a good idea. I am leaving for my first fill in a few hours. I am feeling nervous...just the usual nuerotic stuff like 'what if my band slipped' what if I PB on the plane on my way home etc etc. I need to stop and breathe! I will let you all know how it went! Thanks to those who have shared your first fill experience here...it is very helpful and reassuring. Bye for now!

how long would someone be off work?

That is good advice, to ask your dr... I was told not to lift more than 10 pounds for 3 weeks. No ab work (sounds like your job needs abs) for 3 months. Maybe you can transfer departments for a while? Best of luck to you...and be careful!

    Steady losers ;-)

Hi everyone! I am glad you are all doing well. I am not sure if I told you I get my first fill on Jan 22! Yippee! I have been a little stuck in the weight department for the last couple weeks, but I am not gaining. I am really looking forward to restriction. BK...that is great news about your Dad. He will get a little better everyday. I will send you warm fuzzy thoughts. I see our stats are still very simaler...that is so fun! Best Wishes.
