    3rd FIll and mixed emotions

You have done well. Take it easy on yourself. To lose 48lbs is a great achievment and be proud, that you did not depend soley on your band. I commend you for all that you have done and i am confident that you will meet your goals.

    First Fill

I had my first fill 3days ago i dont feel any difference except that i more or less can eat more than beforer. iI think i might be confused, she put 4cc in my 11.5cc Realize band. Calculating what might have left back in the tubing i might possible have 3cc to be realistic. Before i got my fill i believe i had restrictions. The only good thing i am sticking to my one cup and low carb. What should i feel someone please tell me.

    Christian bandsters

I am happy to have this thread. I am also a christian and appreciate the fact that we can all share the glory of god together.
  5. Yesterday i had my fill for the first time 4\11\2011. The procedure was quite simple and being a nurse i was prepared it was just what i expected. Still not losing, however my clothes are lose and i feel better overall. Looking forward to the future. No regrets even @ this early stage.

    Any Non Scale Victories?

I am so happy that someone else is experiencing the same things as i am. I was banded on 3\8\2011 and although i only lost 20lbs i am feeling good. Heartburn completely gone, my clothes are loose now wearing xlarge instead of 2x. complexion good. sleeping well at nights waking up without feeling tired. Thats a lot and for that alone i am happy i did the lapband.
  7. Believe me it will get better. I was banded on March 8th and i too thought it was rough until i gradually started to feel better. Hang on in there.

    Can you feel/see your port?

I had surgery on 3\3\2011 i can feel and see my port under the skin. I don't mind at all because i think i can monitor it myself if it is this way. One added benefit and this is my personal experience from me being a Registered Nurse and had the opportunity to access ports for Chemo, its better when it can be felt. The nurse can get to the soft part easier for the fills. Reading some of these blogs, and i admit i am new, but i think sometimes they are missing the port and the fluid is going somewhere else for the fills. Accessing ports is a unique skill and it takes practice. So again my personal opinion its better if you can see and feel your port. Small price to pay.

I was also banded on 3\8\2011, today i am feeling much better. The first two days was a killer but now i am doing great very little pain and gas. My swelling must have gone down and i am feeling hungry, but i am fighting like hell to stick to my clear liquid. On Wednesday i go to see my surgeon and from there i will see how things go. Just hang on in there and things will get better. I am also back at work . I feel blessed. All the best everyone.

    Post Op 4 days!

Hello there, i am four days post op, first two days was bad for me, mainly because i did not take my percocets as prescribed, i did not want to depend on it too much. I started taking 1\2 of the Percocet every 4hours pain or no pain and i was feeling much better then. Today no meds and yesterday only took 1\2 of a pill. i think i am doing good so far. 258LBS day of surgery today 250. Just to mention i was 269 before i started my two weeks liguid diet. Therefore i am down 19 lbs thank god, Wish you and all other Bandsters well and keep posting.
  15. I am requesting some help. I am Day # 2 post-op and very uncomfortable. It hurts when i take deep breaths, hurts when i swallow in the epigastric area, when i drink i feel pressure in my stomach and chest area. i think i can feel the band around my stomach hurting when i swallow. I called my surgeons office they told me this is normal it will all go away. My port site is swollen, lots of gas and pain pain pain, i am now taking my pain meds every four hours consistently. Give me some feed back please. I will be seeing my surgeon next Wednesday.
  16. Oh my goodness i was banded yesterday and i am in sooooooo much pain. They gave me Percocets but that is too strong for me. I did cut one percocet in four and took a quarter and could not wake up. I started regular Tylenol and i am walking, The operative site is covered with strips and very tender and painful. Anyway i am doing the best i can and you do the same it will get better.
