  1. That is fabulous. I am sorry you are having a hard time finding 4/6 's . I did not really think that would be an issue. Now it seems that everything I find is a 6, which does me no good yet. Maybe soon.
  2. congrats on finding out about vsg. I had to go through two docs to find one that did them. Had it done this monday. Am so excited to be on my way.
  3. yes, things just not moving through it very well. I plan to walk, sip, sip, walk. Doc did tell me they r not doing another ugi. As long as ican get fluids down ok today he will let me go home. I just did not know if anyone ekse had this problem and if so how did it resolve?
  4. well, i had my surgery monday. It is now thurs. Evening and i am still in hospital. I was supposed to go home today. They did my upper gi this morning and are keeping me because my tummy was sluggish. Well, the contrast for the upper gi is the most discusting stuff i have ever tasted. I really thought it was coming back up. I think they will do another in the morning. Is that right? What can i do about the sluggish tummy? I am walking and trying to drink.
  5. Soup was listed on my diet as part of full liquids. Unflavored protein powder added would be great though.
  6. Ill be right behind you at 11:00 am Monday. See ya on the other side. It sounds like you have things pretty well covered.
  7. Thank you all for the support. My hubby is super supportive, but I don't think he really understands. I am so glad I found this forum. All the experienced advice is really helpful. I am feeling better about things today. Just trying to get laundry done and the house clean. Hubby will have enough going on with the 2 year old and me without starting behind. Gonna pack bag and enjoy a steak tonight. I am allowed a low carb dinner on my pre-op, but don't want to eat anything that heavy the night before surgery, so tonight is my last ribeye for a while and I am great with that.
  8. Congrats. That is amazing. You are doing awesome. Keep up the good work.
  9. Sexy Tee, What my surgeon recommends and is the cheapest (and i think the best tasting too) is sugar free carnation instant Breakfast, and add 1/3 cup dry powdered milk and mix with 8 oz skim milk. I think it then has 18 or so grams of protein. It is the cheapest option and does not have that medicine taste that some Protein drinks have. I have only been on pre-op do far. My surgery is the day before yours 01/17. Good luck. Will talk to you next week.
  10. My surgery is in three days. I am soooo nervous. I have had surgeries before and have never really been very nervous before. I am so scared and I don't know why. I know that I will be at the hospital for 2 nights (all other surgeries have been outpatient) so that should make me feel better. I am liking the idea of the pain pump, but I am still just scared *&$less
  11. I am so looking forward to not obsessing about food. I am now on the pre-op diet and it is all I can think about. argggg.,
  12. You also have to remember. The point of the pre-op diet is not to lose weight. It is to shrink the liver. Weight loss can just be a side effect of it. My doctor does not really like the slimfast shakes either.
  13. I have noticed that some of you do clear liquids post op. My surgeon apparently only does clear liquids until you have your UGI on day 2 and then you can have full liquids for 2 weeks, then on to pureed. Had anyone else not had much of a clear liquid phase? Getting a little nervous anyway.
  14. On her profile it says she is logged in, so hopefully that is a good sign.
  15. I have protein shakes and a low carb dinner. My surgery is on the 17th, I have been on pre-op now for 10 days and have only lost 5 pounds. Really thought it would be more. I hope I have shrunk my liver. I have not cheated, well I probably eat more veggies at night than I should but they said if you were hungry to have them.
  16. Congrats on doing so well. It is always inspirational to those of us waiting for surgery to read about results. I know it is for me anyway. Keep up the good work.
  17. I would water it down. One of the things they told us in the preop class I went to was that alcohol is absorbed much quicker, so a 1/2 glass is like a couple of glasses previously as far as affect.
  18. Is there any way they can do both procedures at the same time? I know sometimes surgeons will coordinate to piggyback procedures. That way you only have anesthesia once. It is certainly worth asking your VSG surgeon. He is the one that would possibly have an issue. I can't imagine the GI guy having one.
  19. I would deff. go to a regular bra store and get measured. Bali has stores at most outlet malls, etc. They are super nice and really got me in the right size. I look forward to going again in a couple of months and picking out all new ones.
  20. I have not tried it hot. I will do that. Sounds yummy. Mom, your surgery is tomorrow? Mine is not until Monday. I will be thinking and sending warm thoughts and prayers your way.
  21. Have you asked your doctor for Zofran or Phenergan for the nausea? That might be a help.
  22. My doctor suggested to add dry, powdered milk to things to get extra protein. Tomato soup or sugar free carnation instant breakfast. I am still on pre-op, but I think the instant breakfast with the extra powdered mil tastes much better than some of the other options.
  23. Mine is not all liquid. 14 days of 2 protein shakes a day and a dinner of protein and veggies. Basically a low carb dinner.
  24. Me too. Surgery is 01/17 and am now of day 8 or so of pre-op diet. Several headaches, but taken Tylenol only. Doc says that will be forever, so may as well stock up.
  25. Does anyone have any size 18 or XL on down scrubs. I work in a physicians office and hate the thought of buying scrubs all the way down. Still would be well worth it all, but would prefer not to have to. Will happily pay shipping. No huge hurry, surgery is is one week, but I would like to at least get these work clothes lined up. I think I will need within 1-2 months. Thanks.
