    GETTING TUBES TIED

I had my tubes tied the same time I got my sleeve, my gyno went through my belly button incision and afterwards I felt some cramping but not bad at all. It's a 10-15 minute procedure. I also decided to keep my IUD in since prior to my surgery it had completely stopped my period. Since my surgery, my period has come back (even with the IUD) but it is so light and lasts for 2 maybe 3 days and I've had minimal cramping. I would call your gyno's office and ask them what they think. Since it is a relatively quick outpatient procedure I wouldn't think you would have to wait a long time. Good luck! - Tiffany
  2. I've had my IUD (Mirena) for 2 years now and have had no complications when I had my sleeve surgery last year. I even had a tubal ligation performed at the same time and decided since the IUD completely eliminated my period to just keep it in. No problems at all. Good luck!

    My First Cry

I completely agree with Lots of Hope, especially, "Real men that are worth considering won't care!" and that is so so true! Years ago when I met my hubby I was I size 6/8, after 2 pregnancies I gained more than 125 lbs and wore a size 22!!! Top weight was 278 (which was last year) and my husband never and I mean never looked at me differently. Big - Small it does matter to a real man!!!!! I think it was real wrong of that guy to be all texting you and then start talking about your cousin.... there are so so much better fish in the sea and forget him. If he starts trying to text you again, go report him to your HR... you already told him to go away already! Good luck sweetheart! - Tiffany
  6. You look absolutely amazing!!! Thank you for sharing your story!!!!! **HAPPY DANCE**

  11. Hi Sleeve Newbie! I know what you are going through and try not to get too frustrated. I'm almost 6 months out and my weight will stall right before and during my period. Once it's done then the scale starting going back down. Just keep sipping your Water and Protein shakes and in no time you will start dropping again!
  12. So I have Aetna and had my surgery on December 27th. I stayed for 2 nights. My deductible and co-insurance has already been paid up so both my surgeries (Sleeve and Tubal Ligation) were covered at 100%. I was just on Aetna's website and you won't believe how much the hospital bill is???? Any guesses???? Just think, this is the hospital bill, not including either one of the surgeons bills! DRUM ROLL PLEASE....................... $94,429.45 now pick your jaw up off the ground!!!! So, let's break down those charges, shall we?? Room-Board/Semi :$3,116.00 Drugs/Detail Cod :$1,131.34 OR Services :$17,052.55 Supply/Implants :$20,063.00 Pharmacy :$2,494.05 IV Solutions :$3,116.41 Sterile Supply :$3,847.00 Sterile Supply :$5,416.00 Sterile Supply :$24,485.00 Med-Sur Supply :$592.00 Anesthesia :$3,298.15 Recovery Room :$3,461.95 Laboratory :$45.10 Pathology Lab :$1,235.35 EKG/ECG :$471.45 DX X-Ray :$986.10 Lab/Urology :$105.65 Lab/Chemistry :$2,311.75 Lab/Immunology :$96.45 Lab/Demotology :$1,104.15 Seeing that the hospital alone charges this is absolutely freaking ridiculous!!!!!!! Now I know they won't get paid the full amount since this will all be discounted because of in-network prices, but come on!!!!!
  13. Hi NewBeginnings - i know exactly what you're going through, I was sleeved about 6 months ago and it does get a lot better. Ask your doctor to see when you start your B-12 Vitamin, it comes as a nasal spray (prescription) or dissolves in your mouth (over the counter) and helps greatly with energy!! I know it's really hard to get your Water in, i still have a hard time getting 64 ounces in and I can definitely feel my energy go down if I don't get close to that amount. For the first 2 months i had to set the timer on my phone to remind myself to drink. Also, I take dissolving gas-x strips when i get gas pains. I hope this helps, and good luck sweetheart!!!!

    Constipation

Miralax is good - Quaker Oats has a high fiber oatmeal that is really good, plus get some benefiber and add it to your water (up to 3 times a day) - if you don't already, start eating yoplait greek yogurt every other day to every day and that should get things moving!

    Hair Loss

yeah i had my surgery at the very end of December and a month ago i started losing hair. it sucks but if you keep up taking your Vitamins and Biotin, get in your Protein, it doesn't come out as fast. i trimmed my hair above my shoulders so i didn't have to pull it back as much and that seems to help alot. it doesn't last forever but it's a small price to pay to be healthy. good luck sweetheart - tiffany
