just got back from my 1 week post-op appt with the Surgeon. In and out in less than 5 minutes. Just had me lift up my shirt to look at the incisions, no questions or advice offered (though he did take 45 seconds to answer my 3...) Just glad things are going well. He did say the cough I've been having (with gross yeloow phlegm) is often a result of being intubated and should clear up over the next few weeks. Here's hoping.

So excited that I am finally a 'Post-Op'!! Hardest thing I've ever done was not running out of the surgical suite but 5 days later I'm recovering nicely and SO excited about the rest of my life. I can't even wrap my mind around the potential change I can bring about using this awesome new tool. 2011 is gonna be a big one!!

Just heard my employer is switching our healthcare plan in February. Aetna denied my claim so BCBS of FL can't do any worse right? Might be good news. I'm actually a little scared they WILL cover the surgery, but not the sleeve, or not until 6 months from now. My surgery date is fast approaching... would HATE to lose momentum!! Then again 15 grand is NOTHING to take lightly...hmm????
