  1. Yea, I've been on liquids all day yesterday and today. Ready for some mushies!
  2. So I had my 4th fill yesterday morning. My doctor recommends his patients to go on a 6-day liquid post diet. What are ya'lls thoughts on this? What does everyonese doctors suggest?
  3. thanks I think its just a trial and error thing with soft foods. Boy does it suck though when it hurts.
  4. I had my surgery on August 17th and lately as I'm progressing to soft foods and even mushy I get this feeling in my chest maybe like the food getting stuck maybe? I'm not sure what that the stuck feeling feels like? It hurts pretty bad and feels like I'm going to throw up. It could happen on my first bite so it's not when Im getting full. Ive tried taking smaller bites and chewing much much more. Still happens. Any advise?
  5. I was banded August 17th. This is week 3, mushes. When I went to the doctors Monday they said theres not really a requirement for the steps from liquid/mushy/soft/hard. He said everyones different. Try mushy for a day or two and if you can handle well try some soft foods, if you can't hold it down or it feels weird shift to more mushy foods. I was surprised when he told me this.
  6. Congrats I was banded August 17th. Enjoy your new life style!
  7. Makes sense..Thank you for the info!
  8. Im right there next to you. Chinese has been my fav. my entire life, I look forward to eating it again just a small portion instead =). I haven't read any restrictions about eating it.
  9. Alrighty I have a question that my nutrionist said during the pre-surgery meeting about our post diet. I didn't think about asking the question WHY! During weeks 5-7 when I can eat Soft Foods I'm not to Drink 1hr Prior to eating, nor 2hrs after eating. Example. 7am-Drink 8am-Eat 10-am Drink again Please help me understand why I'm doing this again lol. I understand no drinking while I eat.
  10. Congrats! I'm still gonna be nervous going into my first fill lol. I'm on 2 weeks post surgery though got a while.
  11. One of my cut's that had liquid stitches on it had a small blood bubble under it which now popped. Whats a good thing to clean the bloody area with? They told me not to put any soap/creams on the areas for a while.
  12. What do ya'll think about Pure Protein during my 2 week post surgery. It has 1g of Sugar and 120 calories. Wondering if this would be a safe protein drink?
  13. I was banded this Tuesday, this morning I woke up and noticed when I bend over or move a certain way, my left side where the port is has like pulling very painful feeling. Does this seem to be what you are feeling as well?

  16. Hey everyone! Just an update I just got home from the hospital. Quick overview Arrived at 8:30am went to Second floor which was day surgery. @10:00 they came and it was time to be banded. @2:00 I woke up in Recovery in extremely bad pain. It was the pressure build up in the stomach area. Nurse gave me a couple of does of something. Pain went away. I stayed awake basically the rest of the day in the hospital bed watching tv and talking to my visitors. The access port cut and the pressure are the only two things that hurt. Couldn't sleep all night which sucked. They gave me chicken broth, jello, juice for dinner and Breakfast which I barley touched.
  17. Today is the day I start my new journey on a new life. I would like to ask for those who believe to pray for me while I go in today for surgery. This is my first surgery in my life, never spent the night in a hospital. I'm a nervous wreck.
  18. Haha yes, I remember right before I feel asleep she said "Now I'm not going to take off your EKG Pads, because you men tend to get excited when ur sleeping and feel that." I laughed and ripped them off when I was changing back into my shirt when leaving.
  19. Very very very true!! I saw him once 6-months ago and today for my EGD. Then the 17th im sure for surgey.
  20. Hey everyone! Just wanted to give ya'll an update on how the EGD went. I arrived at the hospital, checked in and went to the third floor. They gave my fiancée and I our own little room so I can change and wait till it was time. After about 30-mins they came in and put in a IV. (This was my first time putting an IV in and she said that this was the most painful thing). After about another 30-mins they wheeled the entire bed I was laying on into another room with the camera and stuff. They put a small little oxygen tube in your nose. (Now it doesn't go up in your nose. Just barley sits in your nose. After that they tell you to roll on your side and last thing I remember was just looking at the monitor while she was explaining how it would take 60 secs lol. I was wheeled back into my room sleeping, where I personally woke up in about 20 mins because I didn't want my fiancée to wait. I have no pain at all, I don't have a soar throat or itchy throat or anything. Weird because my tonsils are HUGE.Once I got home from doing my other EKG and pre-testing at my doctors I was knocked out for a while. So don't be afraid anyone of this procedure.
  21. Thanks so much ya'll I just hope my Hospital here in Louisiana is like that. Seems were full of rude people lol.
  22. I'm a wuss when it comes to not knowing how something feels or what to expect. I've never had any surgery nor been put to sleep. I have no idea what to expect and am scared what If I don't fall asleep all the way and every possible worse case lol.
  23. Congrats everyone! My EGD is tomorrow which im nervous as heck about. Then surgery the 17th. If I read right this is a same day surgery correct?
  24. Good luck! To the both of us, thats my date as well.
  25. Hey everyone! My surgery date is the 17th. I'm starting to get opinions from people that I may get infections and how people do get infections. This is whats on my mind now lol. If something like that happens who pays for that?
