Will u throw out your "big" clothes

I have friends and family that I have been giving my clothes to. Now I am in a size 12 and if I continue to lose, I don't know who I will give the clothes to. I guess Goodwill. I buy all my clothes at Goodwill now because I don't stay in them for very long. The Goodwill I went to while in SC had a closeout rack with clothes that came from Target. I bought nice shorts in every color for $1.50 in a size 10. That gives me something to work toward. I love being able to dress a little more stylishly now. They don't make cute clothes in plus sizes!

    Food Question For Sucessful Banders

I eat most of what I ate before the band. Some things literally won't go past the band anymore. I have been banded for 14 months and am now 160 lbs. I can't eat roast, bread, steak, hot dog weiners and possibly some other items I'm forgetting. But I was able to eat a lot of those things through the first few fills. I am very tight now. You will have much better results if you don't eat everything you ate before, but I have never been a fan of "the right kind of foods". I consider myself successful and so does my Dr, but it is all trial and error. Some of my banded friends still eat bread. It varies depending on the person. Good luck with your journey.

Thank you for sharing! You look great! You don't look like you wear a 12. You look even smaller!

    What Am I Doing Wrong?

I promise you are doing nothing wrong. Just sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride. There is no need to worry. I did the exact same thing. I'm 15 months post op now and 160 lbs. It WILL happen. As long as you follow the rules, you have nothing to worry about.

  8. Ok.....so I know you aren't supposed to drink carbonated beverages at all, but I'm a very bad girl. I would like to know how many of you drink carbonated beverages regularly? And has anyone personally had a problem with band erosion? Like I said.... I know I'm not supposed to, but .....

    Carbonated Drinks

Not only do you have to worry about the calories, but they say NO CARBONATION because it causes the pouch to swell.

    Feeling Lost and Confused...

For me, that is what happened. I was banded October 25, 2010. I was able to eat normally for the first few fills. I didn't get any real restriction till the 4th fill. You will get restriction, and then it will loosen up again as you lose weight. I promise, I was feeling the same way you were. You will go through losing and then not for a couple weeks. Don't get discouraged. The time will come when you are a year out and you will be celebrating I started at 216 and now I am at 164. Just relax and enjoy the ride. It'll happen. I promise!

    Eating Poll

I would have to pick C. I eat just about anything I want to except things that have a lot of bread. It just won't go down. I can't eat burgers. I can't eat pot roast. I can't eat sandwiches. Other than that, I eat pretty much what I want to, just a lot less of it than I used to.
  12. I wish I had known: That I would go through a depression right after surgery, then again as the band got tighter and the things I could eat got less and less. That I would reach plateaus and then pick up the weight loss again. That I would NOT all of a sudden start to want to exercise. I still am very unmotivated. Character flaw. How great I would feel when I reached 50 lbs gone! That some of my overweight relatives would turn on me because they didn't approve of the surgery.
  13. hey! i was 33 bmi with comorbidities. I weighed 216 and had my surgery on 10/25/10. Lost most of it before Christmas and now I weigh 186. Just got another fill today. I haven't been watching what I eat or anything and it's all my fault, but I have gained 5 lbs in the past month. Dedicate yourself when you start and never cheat. A little cheat leads to BIG cheats.
  14. I just wanted to speak to you so that you don't experience the same thing I am. I started out the same way you are. Cheating a little here and there. Well, I had my surgery 10/25/10 and I am not doing good at all. I lost 33 lbs during the first couple of months. Now I am stuck and actually gaining because I don't do what I am supposed to. I eat whatever I want and eat too much. Yes I was 216 and I am now 184, but like I said, I have been gaining. FOLLOW THE RULES TO THE LETTER! YOU DIDN'T GO THROUGH THIS TO FAIL! You will be ok. It does not hurt to feel hunger. I know we don't like it, but it doesn't actually hurt. Good luck on your journey!
  15. Well, today I went and joined the gym. I had surgery October 25 and have not been exercising. I have lost 30 lbs so far (including pre-op diet) and I am ready to add some exercise so I can make more of an impact. Just curious, anyone else joining?

The first picture was October 2009. Had surgery October 2010. After pic is Jan 23, 2011.
  17. I am so dissappointed in myself. I gained 3 lbs over the past few days. I have been eating and drinking things that I shouldn't. I am very down on myself and that is a recipe for disaster for me. Tomorrow morning I am going to get back on the wagon!
  18. My surgery date was 10/25/10 and so far I've lost 30 lbs (including pre-op diet). My second fill is January 11 and I am very excited and nervous.

    Resorting to Sliders....

I got my first fill a week ago and right now, I am very frustrated. My doctor told me he was going to be very aggressive for my first fill and put in 4 ccs. WAY TOO MUCH. He immediately took out .5 cc's and then another .5 cc. I left the office with a feeling in my chest like I needed to burp. Well, I headed back to the office, (the doctor had left for a bit so I had to wait on him to come back) and before he got back I started to throw up the water that he had me drink. This was over 3 hours from the time I left the office. When he got there, he took out another cc, so I now have only 2 ccs in. Since then, I am struggling with taking small bites and eating too fast. I have been getting stuck a lot and I am so mad at myself! I realize that the getting stuck is my fault and today is the day that I am going to really start to concentrate on how I am eating and what I am eating. I know I have to do it myself, but the change of habit is really kicking my butt!
  21. I don't let my husband know anything about what I do wrong because he has no sympathy or understanding of the process. If you need someone to talk to, I would talk to people on here. I made friends with a very nice lady that lives very close to me. We have never met, but we talk on the phone almost everyday and become very good friends. It is good to have support from someone who knows what you are going through. I won't be telling my husband when I mess up because I don't want to be corrected like I were a child.

    Outrageous Octobers 2010

<FONT color=#00bfff size=3 face=Georgia>Hey! Well, I was banded 10/25/2010. I have no restriction, but I am trying to make good choices. Sometimes I fail at that miserably.
