  1. Thank you! I thought I was the only one! I was actually just talking about this with my sister last night. I feel like I want to eat EVERYTHING and my cravings are outrageous. What's weird is that before I was never like that. I have heard that other women usually are tighter during their TOM but not me...I feel like there is nothing in my band and I need/have to eat eat eat. What is crazier is that I had a fill this past Monday so one would think I would be tigher. Crossing my fingers that this feeling goes away soon. I have been weighing myself everyday just to make sure that my overindulgence haven't affected me tooooo much, thankfully they haven't. But I am definitely ready for this feeling to GO AWAY!

OH WHAT WE WOMEN HAVE TO GO THROUGH! :D

  2. So I woke up this morning extremely discouraged. I look at exercise as a chore that I don't want to do. Maybe it's just me wanting to start off with some big exercise routine when I need to start off small. I don't have the money for a gym and I always fall behind with those work out videos. Not to mention they make me feel like a fool because I don't look good like they do. Like Zumba. I freaking love Zumba but I've only seen the Zumba brand dvd's and even the basic one I can't keep up with on some of the steps. I just needed to vent and was wondering if anyone had any tips on how to make a work out not seem like a bothersome chore. Thanks for listening to me.

Hey girl! I totally understand where you are coming from. I find exercise to be annoying and most of the time actually getting started is the worst/hardest part. Start off slow...like go for a walk. I know these days it is freezing out but if you bundle up really well you'll end up sweating after a 30 min. walk. Slowly increase your walking time and distance as well as add a jog or hand weights when you're walking.

I think a lot of the times work out videos are super hard and way above what most "normal" people can do, sure a super athlete can do them (like the ones in the videos) but we have a hard time. Don't feel bad about it because we all fall behind and can't keep up. Have you ever tried taebo? I love it, some of the moves are hard and sometimes I can't keep up but most of the time they're doable. Give it a try. :) As far as zumba goes....I bought the tapes 2-3 yrs ago, watched them and was like "hell no" and never touched them again, waste of my $65. I started going to the classes last year and it's a completely different experience. You don't have to worry about "looking/feeling dumb" because during every class there are new people that have never done it so they mess up the instructor messes up...it's all a part of the fun. I promise that you'll eventually get the steps and you'll love it. Try the classes. :)

I don't know if I was much help....I guess what I was trying to say was just start with a 30 min walk and see where it takes you, any type/amount of exercise is great.

  3. I am 25 and plan to have kids soon (within 3-4 yrs hopefully) and my dr told me that I have to wait AT LEAST 18 months but more like 2 - 2 1/2 yrs is preferred. I think they ask you to wait because your stomach is still healing (and other medical reason I don't remember but I made sure to ask before surgery) and because your first year is when you're at your honeymoon stage of your surgery. That's when most of your weight should come off. That's when your metabolism is at it's highest. Plus the first yr is when you have mostly all of your fills. I'm sure there are other reasons but I would talk to your dr if I were you. You might want to wait till after you have the baby.

    Good luck!

  5. Hello all! I hope everyone had a great week. One week to go for our January challenge. It's been challenging to say the least but I think we're all going to do great!

I wanted to post a challenge for us (since some of you have done so in the past). I went to my monthly support meeting this past Monday and it was all about physical activity. There was a personal trainer and yoga instructor there showing us chair exercises. It was awesome. The personal trainer said something that really stuck with me and I thought that it would be a good "challenge" for us for this week. She said that it was important to change up our exercise routines every so often (like adding a class a week) to keep our bodies burning as much fat as possible.

So here's the challenge...change up your exercise routine at least once a week. If you walk daily - add a bike ride, if you go to the gym - add a class, if you swim - add a Water aerobics class. I did it this week and I have noticed a difference in my weight loss. I know today is not our weigh in day so I won't post my loss yet but for the first time in 3 weeks I have a LOSS. :-D If you would like to add a class to your routine I HIGHLY recommend taking a zumba class, you won't be disappointed. It's super fun and I've been told that you can lose up to 900 calories in an hour. I LOVE zumba and I know you will too. Most gyms offer the class or you can just go on zumba.com and search for one near you.

Good luck and let me know what you guys think about the challenge. :)

  6. I work at an office and I was banded on a Wednesday and took Thursday and Friday off, I went back to work that following Tuesday (since Monday was a holiday). The only "pain" I experienced was gas pain, it was more then the previous days because I was moving around more then I had been. After Tuesday's gas pains I was good to go.

    Good luck to you! :)
