  1. Hello All!

I am Jennifer, and I was banded a little over a year ago. I recently for the past week have been having a burning pain in my stomach all the time. It does it when I havent eaten, when Im eating, and after. I am hoping the band hasnt like eaten through my stomach or something, but its always scary when something involves the stomach since we do have a band on it. I have only had one fill back in February 08. If anyone has had this problem or knows what it might be please let me know. Thank you.

  2. Hello. I am having problems with constant pain on my right side. It is on the same side of my port area, but way below where the port is. I cant lay on my side and it hurts to stand up sometimes. I have this pain off and on. I am going to go to my doc, but usually he tells me to take Aleeve for the pain, but I am afraid it is something worse. Does anyone else out there have this pain off and on and somtimes lasting a couple days? Your suggestions are appreciated..thanks :)

  3. Hello. I was baded 4/19/07 and have not had a fill yet. I have lost 52 pounds, went from 283-231. Now I am back up to 237-239. I know it is because I need a fill, which I will get towards the end of the month (I have to pay $150 up front to get one). I am now able to eat what I want, I eat a normal plate size (I dont eat as much as I did before surgery, its still less) I just am worried now that I have stretched my stomach, since I can eat a whole meal...like I know its bad, but I can eat a whole Happy Meal, if I go to AppleBees and get a steak, veggies, and mashed potatoes, I can almost eat all of it. Do you think I stretched my stomach over my band or is this normal because I havent had a fill yet? I was walking 2 miles everyday and thats when I go to my lowest. When it got cold I stopped walking, and now have gained weight back and eating more (and unhealthy things, which I need to stop). I also have been having bad pains in my right side that last for hours, but it is below my port. Does anyone get these pains and know what these are? Sorry for all my complaints...I just needed someone to talk to. Thanks!

  4. I have had my surgery 4/19/07..and for the past week or so, I am having sharp, uncomfotable pains throughout my stomach, sometimes I think its gas, but it last for hours throughout the day. Anyone else having these stomach pains that are unexplainable? I have a doctor appointment, but just want bandsters input. Thanks!

I was banded 4/19/07 and so far have been doing good. I went to the doctor about 7/7/07 with constant pain that I could feel a little bit above the long port incision where the port is located...It hurt worse when I walked moved or anything. So, he pushed on my port (about cried) and said to take Aleeve in the morning and one at night and if the pain was still happening to come back because port COULD be flipping. So it went away and about 2 1/2 weeks ago it started again, especally after I eat, I get a constant sharp pain around the port area that lasts for hours...does anyone know what could be causing this? My doc is off work and I have to wait until Wednesday, but kind of worried. I shouldnt have let it gone on this long, but dont want to hear bad news. :help:

Any suggestions or shared experiances are greatly appreciated!

  7. Hell. Sorry to hear you so down. What my dietician told me was that if you get at a stand still try starting again with Phase 1 with the liquid phase and it should kick start your diet again like it did in the begining so that you can lose more weight again. I'm not sure if it will work, but it's worth the try if your weight loss is bothering you. Again, you have had such a sucess losing well over 100 pounds. 100 pounds is a lot and you should be soooo proud of yourself. I am proud of you, that is an inspiration to me. Hope you feel better hun, take care...if you ever need to chat, feel free to email me.

  8. What type of work do you do? My day is Friday 04/27/07 yippppieee!!!!! I am scheduled to return to work on Tuesday, but I have a fairly easy job, I am an administrative assistant. Good luck, hope your feeling better soon!!B)

I am a claims rep for Social Security..I went and bought a pillow today and was a litte more comfortable. I took two days off work--had it on a Thursday and returned on Monday. But had to leave after working only 4 hours. I worked today the whole day and did fine! Good luck with your banding!

  9. Hello. I take meds. Well, just the Nexium capsules my doctor puts us on after surgery, and small pain pills when needed, and capsule Paxil. They told me that you can take pills no bigger then the Tylenol pills, and capsules are better because they disolved opposed to the others that sit on your stomach. The only pill I took that wasnt a capsule was in the hospital for pain and it was really tiny. Hope this helps.

  10. Hello All:

I was banded 4/19/07...am still sore and of course tired. I have lost 13 pounds in 5 days...is this normal? Im sure the massive diarehha is contributing to it. How long does it take to feel normal again? I went back to work today, but had to come home because it hurts to sit up in a chair due to the incisions. Nice to meet you all and good luck!

  11. I also have Blue Cross Blue Shield...I havent had the Lap Band done yet, but was going too, but the gastric was covered and NOT the Lap Band...BUT guess what?? It is covered now in 2007...so I advise you check now to see if it is covered, because they make changes every year....and my Anthem BCBS announced it now covers the band...hope this helps..thanks and good luck!

  12. Hello All:

I am new to this site...I have actually been researching the Lap Band and came across this site. I go to the weight loss educational meeting on November 30, 2006 am and VERY nervous, because from there, I will be contacted to get the ball rolling to the Lap Band process. I wanted it about 4-5 months ago, but my insuranse did not cover it. Now for 2007 it does. I refuse to get the gastric and hope this is a better/safer procedure. I am very scared..reading all the complications those have had with not losing weight, or the port flipping, and other scary stuff. I would hate to have this all done for nothing, and then nothing but bad turn out of it. I am 280 pounds, 5'8" and would like to be down to 165 or 155 at lowest...not sure it that will happen. It's scary thinking of surgery and having something put into my body, but I have to do something...I am to the point I dont want to go in public...so neededless to say, I am ready to start a new journey, just hope this all works out for me. If I have this done, it will be in January 2007.

Nice to meet you all, I look forward to being part of your family
