Got my surgery Date - December bandster

:humble: What a great inspiration. I've not yet read someone's post that has said that but I can see how that would be a reality for many.

    Hello there I'm new

I'm new here too. I think what is such a thrill for me is reading those posts where people say things like the above "my is Monday" and then you see them post back afterwards. HealthQuest I wish it were me on Monday. But I will bide my time. Soon enough. Sincerest wishes for a quick in and out. Be healthy!

    Hello there I'm new

It does feel like a community Charles. Thanks so much. CarMVitzHi all, I am also having my surgery on Monday. The nerves are beginning to kick in. I am feeling very restless but don't want to do anything. I need support to get me through the week end. Monday is a special day for me too. Best of luck to you CarMVitz. I'll be thinking of those who have gone before me. Maybe what you are feeling isn't so much nerves kicking in but the adreneline of EXCITEMENT of what is yet to be!

    Hello there I'm new

To Yvonne: Best to you on Monday. Do let us know how you are doing, feeling.... I'm so excited for you. To Grace: The secret code name ended up being a funny thing. Thanks for agreeing with me. I think that code is better than something like "and the rooster crows at midnight" you know? (laughing) Dolphin Dreams: You must be by the ocean! I love your name. Fitz: Thank you for the warm welcome.

    Considering Surgury-HELP

My BMI is over 50 almost 60. I remember 180 and will be thrilled when I see that number again. The exhaustion you are experiencing may be from something else. How do you sleep? Being so tired all the time can be caused by other maladies. Check with your doctor, get all the blood chemistries done to look for any abnormalities. I just found out I have sleep apnea! I thought it was my weight. I wish it was just my weight but I found out it wasn't. I would try the weight loss clinic.

Thanks for this info. The above is my kind of office visit!
  10. Hi Karen, this was great advice above. The first thing I thought of was (get a lawyer) how sad I was for all of your woes. Cyber hugs your way. Mistakes happen and the doctor was willing to correct the mistake. Yours is the first time I have ever heard of anyone having that kind of serious problems. Wow. Can you see another surgeon? While pursuing getting my body healed, I would be recording everything, saying nothing, and seeking legal assistance. Get copies of everything under the pretense you want a second opinion.

Thanksgiving was no big deal. I didn't gorge, I didn't overeat. I guess I want that golden ticket too bad.

    Florida Bansters

Hello everyone. I'm going with Dr. Rodolfo Dy in New Port Richey. They have a support group at the hospital that meets once a month.

    denied last minute

I have BC/BS of Florida and I was told that it is not a covered benefit. HOWEVER, there is a requirement of insurance that they pay for a procedure if your physician deems it medically necessary(MN). That MN must be proven by documentation such as lab results, other doctor's supporting letters indicating your condition (like a cardiologist who says you have high blood pressure etc.,) That's how it is in Florida. Right now I have gone through all of this. Before I even began the process (Sept.) my doctor, who recommended the Lap Band surgery, sent me to the hospital where it is performed. They gave me a folder with a list of documentation you will need ( most of all you said in your post Beesam ) Before I even began the tests, I called my insurance company. I told them my BMI ( 58) and that I am a diabetic and so on and so on and so on. My question was am I going to go through all of this for you all to tell me no? What I was told was that everything must be documented. In medically necessary situations, your request goes before a review board in the pre-certification department. Based on all of that information, they authorize the request. If I were you, I would ask WHY they said no and to please put it in writing. If you have the letter already, begin the appeals process. You have 30 days. Sometimes what we want never comes easy. Sometimes there is a fight in the process. Don't give up quickly. All you have to lose is weight and a stamp and possibly time. Don't be discouraged, I know that is hard right now. I am waiting for the NO for the lapband despite my doctor sending in a letter already as well as the pulmonary doctor and cardiologist. I'm still waiting for them to tell me NO when it comes right down to the surgery date. But they approved the surgeons office visit for presurgery and they have approved all tests. I am still poised for a fight. I'm new here and it's odd this is my first post on here and I'm responding to you B. I'm with you! Let me know your outcome.
