  7. Cute avatar.

I started work this week so ho hum excuse there. I hang out in Dr. K's thread most all of the time BUT ended up in the hospital with chest pains a few weeks ago. Heart is perfect. I have non-active gallstones. Don't know what the chest pains were. Oh well.

My last fill was the star. I'm really sliding down the scale, feeling full these days.

    You?

  8. Corliss you hit home with your post that I will mention you in. You took the words out of my mouth.

  9. Hey Theresa. I had such a great time with you and everyone. So glad we met. I had equipment issues so my project in CO was delayed. It's still happening though. Take care of you and luck in the pool aerobics.

  10. I'm in Colorado right now. Had my fill today. Great office visit. Partied with the band of other Lapbandtalkers on her that are patients of Dr. Kirshenbaum. GREAT time and just what I needed.

    Take care.

  11. Thanks Theresa. I did see that but and I did post only my session loggon timed out and I lost the post!

I would love to have you be a part of my project. How do you feel about signing for yourself as you speak? I am going to have a list of topics/questions and you can speak to the one you prefer. I'm still working on the logistics. Thanks for the offer.

  12. Girl you look awesome! I mean totally awesome! I am beyond proud of you!. Way to go. I know you feel, like you are having an out of body experience. Atleast that's what is happening to me.

    Hugs,

    Patty the Lapdancer

  13. The parmesan chicken I described before to you is expensive. Really expensive when you see you are only eating a minor amount of the whole meal. I box up like I said and take it home. If I have meat leftover, I heat it and use bites of the meat as a one bite or two for energy....last use is my pets. Dog Eddie loves leftovers. Kittens love vegetables especially my Mama cat

  14. Part IV

Pause pause pause. I chew slow, I eat slow, I swallow slow and take my time. I am now the last person to finish eating or first to finish because I'm having a 'tight' day or things are not going down rather easy.

Following the principal of small volume, slow eating, tracking triggers that give you dumping, you can begin with frozen things Lean Cuisine, but read labels.

Stay away from sodium because it can bind you up at some point then you might have a rebound of dumping if you happen to eat some combination to release a BM.

Do your best, take it slow, be your own best friend and nurse. If you have persistant problem longer, you are in pain at the point of pain call the doctor. Even if they just say "it's normal' I was always told pain is not normal

  15. Part III

To be honest, I do go to restaurants and order regular foods but this is how it goes: Chicken Parmesan with Penne pasta.

I ask for a take home right off the bat.

The huge plate of food is set before me. I go for protein first. I will slice off and push off all the sauce and go for the meat. Chicken, layered in that much product, is so very soft and easy to go down. Remove the all the breading and take little bites of chicken. Then go for green. Salads come before the meal but because of our bands, greens can fill us up first. I tend to eat my greens at the end of the meal. We're talking tablespoons and bites of two or three. No liquid..

Start charting what you are eating and in some cases what combintations you are eating that may be reacting to eachother and to your system.

Things I eat on a regular basis are now a rhythm for me. I buy Yoplait, digestive yogurt with strawberries. To that I add steel cut Irish oats or regular oats, about a tablespoon. Let them softened (oats) at breakfast time.

If you drink coffee, know that it can be something that causes looseness. Milk at the wrong time can also cause a reaction. Stay in the middle, half cup, quarter cup serving one day, one meal and maybe make that early in the morning. Take in some of that calcium in other forms and in other foods...Google can help you find foods that contain necessities for the body.

I did keep all my hair, none fell out. Thank God. I made protein number one.

  17. Hi BandtasticMe:

I can onlyoffer this: Every person is different. Your body is different. One thing I learned is that my body did have problems with dumping at a phase of my weight loss.

About three months after my surgery I started what I would call two days OFF and then one day of non-stop. Very hard.

If you are having pain in your bottom, Dr. Kirsehenbaum, my gastric surgergeon for Lap Band, suggested I start with an easy gentle compress after BM. Use of topicals such as Tucks, though painful, will ease that area.

My experience with Dr. K? OMG, AMAZING! I started off in January 2007 at 389. By the time I got to surgery my pre-op weight on April 17th ... if I recall was at 355. I am doing great. The band is doing it's job. I feel fantastic. I am still big but smaller, dropped very close to three sizes, two for sure. Drop me a private message if you have any questions. Also my email address is: Handjive1228@yahoo.com luck to you.
