Dr. Gerald Kirshenbaum - Considering Dr. Kirshenbaum
Lap_dancer replied to Shesha's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
Okay, I've had my rant over that doctor. Machelle..thanks so much. My sniffer is so sensative I can smell what the neighbors are cooking for dinner. It helps to read your grass story. (btw: that is the family business so I know the smell well). I appreciate the additional words of support. Cheese is my friend. Soft cheese has been a main stay! Spot ~ I love Seattle. Great town you are from!! Shesha~ You're probably looking at $500 in flight and hotel. Go back to the man who did the surgery. That place is really the best. I loved Parker and the facility was hands down the best place I've ever had treatment. -

See me and my mouth would have immediately gotten up, opened the door so the staff and people in the waiting area could have heard me say " I wouldn't let you touch my band port if you were the only doctor in the state who did. You obviously aren't trained, I can tell because you don't know what your talking about!!" And even louder I would have said " so tonight when you and the boys in the Beemer club meet, get out the yellow pages and talk about what you REALLY are, Doctors-R-US." I don't live in Colorado. I researched all those doctors who do "Lap Band" ( I have one in my backdoor and he sounds like the one you went to Shesha ) Because my husband wasn't doing backflips in his office for me to have the surgery, he said he wouldn't do the surgery. IDIOT. I'M THE PATIENT NOT MY HUSBAND. I keep telling folks, shop for surgery. I'm actually glad I was self pay. I was given the opportunity to pick the doctor I wanted to go to and that he lives out of state was a minor concern for me. ** Let's face reality, Dr. Kirshenbaum, like any LOCAL doctor, is a phone call away. The big difference is he responds darn close to right away. In this information age, he operates by my favorite mode, email, and telephone.** There isn't anything negative I can say about my experience with the Lap Band. There is plenty negative I can say about it UP TO getting a loan and flying to Denver. Up to getting the loan it was my nightmare. Once I got the loan I knew I was on my own and grateful I wasn't at the mercy of my insurance company's nitwit. -

Hey all. My husband thinks I'm eating junk food and should get on here and find out what you all are eating. I ate the cheese top to pizza tonight. No crust (the dog was thrilled). I scraped it off the crust with a fork and fed the rest to the dog. There were bacon chips in it (real bacon) and more mushrooms than anything. So it was well cooked and soft and not much to chew but I chewed anyway. Nothing liquid to go down with it as required. Afterwards, I waited 30 minutes and now I am sipping my Propel water. I feel fine, and full. Frankly the soups were something I didn't care to drink anymore. Is anyone else unable to repeat meals? I had no sugar cherry jello. The next container of it the next day I gagged. I had chocolate no fat pudding twice in one day, the next day I gagged when I opened the container. The only thing that seems to not bother me are the AdvantEDGE liquid drinks and Propel. And how are your noses doing? I think I'm starting to get a bit crazy. I had my son rip the carpet up today because it smelled like dogs. Now it was going to be removed anyway...in a few weeks but I expedited the process with a utility knife. Anyone else? I've got some serious issues with dust right now. I fear by tomorrow I'll have all my furniture in the yard dusting it so none of it gets airborne. ( I am not joking at all) -

Sounds like you tried to do too much too soon like I did. Fine here too until I went to work. I think the ones who have no problems going back soon are the ones who have desk jobs, answering phones, and can sit all day. That isn't my job. I'm three days buried in the blankets. Much better. I am feeling restriction. I had half cup of food for breakfast and just finished 11 oz of protein drink slowly as in took me one hour to do both. I'm full, sore full and will stop putting anything down for awhile. MET MY GOAL of 20 pounds in April !!! Woo Hoo~ -
Glad to hear you are checking in and that you are fine~~~ Rest!

My daughter said she didnt' want to look like a "marshmellow bride". She was a 14 and Queen at homecoming in high school four years ago. She put on quite a bit her second year of college. She's now going the other way on the scale and taking her health seriously. She's lost 26 pounds!! yay for her. This is her wedding gown: -

Sending warm waves of sunshine your way Sunnysea. My bouganvilla are blooming lovely. They are fuscia in color. Gardenias are starting to blossom as well. -
I'm sorry the idiots at whatever company think it's not beneficial. If you see my ticker, you can see my BMI was 62 at the time I began. It is still over 49. I'm losing weight. Fortunately my size has been documented. I think I'm going to crash an AMA convention or some insurance convention where they say this outloud. I would fight it but that's just me.

Hi Sunnysea! Know that better things are on the horizon. Accept it and look for it and anticipate good things. .............................. Everyone sounds like they are coming along. Woofay I saw on the news you all got some snow. Wow. Hard to fathom that. Stay warm. Wish I could make May but I can't. I think I can hold out until July for my fill. My band is doing magic. I sip EAS brand AdvantEDGE 3 bottles for 41 grams of Protein for sure. Takes me all day to sip them. Gerber baby food has Phase 3 dinners. The mac & cheese is going down so easy, mushy and I still take my time to consume it. Portion if for a Toddler which is about our tummy's right now. Got a few peas and carrots in there that taste fresh. Propel Water...vitamins in it and great flavor to stay hydrated. Bandages came off one by one and the last one came off in the shower last night. ............................................ Everyone else doing good? -

I can appreciate your situation as a reality with my daughter. We too bought a 14 based on a prior gown she bought. Her wedding is next year. She has 50 pounds to lose. The best you can do is what folks have recommended here and stick to it. I would wait until three months before the wedding to get a first fit. The truth about those dresses is they DO come in odd sizes. They run a size off. Each dress is unique. Try it on when you get it. Try it on in two months. Corset's can be a girl's best friend. Good luck. -
When I get thinner I'm going to wear... Cherry colored polka dot pumps and a cherry retro bathing suit like I had back in high school!
-
This morning I'm wearing a pullover that is technically a top. I'm using it as a night shirt. It is dropping below my tummy. puddin...you rock. I love your in the mirror photo with the hat on. Your BEFORE looks a little like me now only I'm bigger. My hooters are huge. I love all kinds of fun clothes and fabrics and silky things that glide on. I will have a serious shopping addiction but going to stores doesn't appeal to me. Designing clothes makes me quiver!!!! One day.....I'm going to Universal Studios Halloween Horrow Nights and I'm going to look like one of the main characters! HAHHAHA. Oh yea.

No fluids for 1hr. before and after meals?

I actually drink AdvantEDGE Carb Control by sips with dinner. More protein. -
Wow. Well best of luck to you on this. Congrats on the 52! Way to go. I'm sorry for your present hassles. ............................................. Folks I am flat wigging out. I mean it. I'm an emotional rock crusher right now. I have ZERO tolerance for foul odors. One day something tastes good, the next I could and would gag. I screamed at my family for taking such advantage of me. I normally work my AZZ off and have so since they were born and since I married. This is some 25 years. I tried to return to work this week and my job requires HIGH levels of mental processing. I just could not do it. So now I am home. I sent them to the store last night for FOUR items. food items that I can eat. Someone decided I didn't NEED one or two things. I flipped out. I am feeling like at a critical time when I need some support and YES pampering, they are bailing on me. Does anyone remember labor and what TRANSITION was during labor? THAT is what this feels like.

the boobs are perfect IMHO, love the look, great fabric, superb support and and and....................woo hoo...what a goal.
