I need some GET UP AND GO!! Vitamin advice?
Lap_dancer replied to waitingtiljan's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Naps! as well as Propel Fitness Water Vitamin enhanced. -
YES. Remember last week we were talking about this? If I had a salad with tomato on my plate and the dressing happened to Water down and migrate to the...oh, say, mashed potatoes, I wouldn't eat the mashed potatoes. I'd have to wipe off any meat that got sogged by the stuff. My sister cannot eat milk with her Cereal so she drains the milk off with a spoon and eats the cereal only. My son has it too. He cannot eat textures, no peas, forget broccoli..he'll hack. Crunch is good, semi soft is bad. And to think we are obese!! Crazy.

Yup, me. One small section of my Band scar. It leaked and oozed. Bought Hibiclens, cleaned it, covered it with a surgical bandage for a few days until it was less angry looking. Took the bandage off, gently cleansed again and let it air dry. Make sure nothing is rubbing against it like your bra (mine was) Good luck.

Vegas lovers I'll take your word for it. I can do a weekend. I'd like to lose more weight so I can travel easier. Right now I have to use wheel chair for the concourse because my feet wear out. So when are we talking? -
Dr. Gerald Kirshenbaum - Considering Dr. Kirshenbaum

WORD: Dr. K is doing last bits of work June 9th. After that he will be on a lovely trip for one month to Africa. Amazing. (Wish I was going with him as I love high end adventure and photography) I'm going to get my first fill June 7th. Kids I am soooo feeling the openess of my eating. Mind you I still eat about one fourth what I typically ate but double what I ate just after banding. Can I tell you HOW MUCH I LOVE THE BAND? I still feel FULL. First time in years. No regrets! -
This candy bar is clearly not for bandsters!

Lauraj I still struggle with that fast eating thing. I use to eat like my cat after a long day of bird chasing. But now I time myself and I'm still at 15 minutes which beats 5 minutes to ten minutes. What to do????? I end up hungry again. As far as sweets.. remember the funky thing we were talking about the other day about food touching and eating one thing at a time, no funny textures? Okay the fact that it was OLD candy and not freshly purchased would have stopped me. I have a problem with cake. We had a bakery fresh strawberry cake yesterday for Mother's Day. I had a piece, ate less than half. Waited an hour, ate the rest. Got up three hours later and ate another piece. This morning I feel like I was hit by a train. Got the shakes, I think it is a sugar buzz. I'm full of regret and beating myself up.

Morning everyone! Hi Anita!!! Hope all is well with you. Michelle, keep on smiling! Mal you are going to be the focus of my post as I have to run out the door soon. You hang in there. Remember that you will have antibiotics ANYWAY for post surgery so having that built up in your system will be great. I feel like this is all going to work out for you. Thinking of you and hoping you feel brighter and better. -
Atleast you're honest and while we're being honest, After I get my plastic surgery, I'm going to find the tightest leather pants I can get my boney azz into. My weight is all in my gut and I have no doubt my bottom will go back to being the English muffins they use to be. Vanity can be a motivator.
-
That would be my current look. Been sporting the elastics for several years. Will be sooooo glad when I can wear BLUE JEANS.

I'm slightly odd feeling in my chest.
Lap_dancer replied to davethesailor's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
You must be a teacher. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> As far as the discomfort goes, Dr. Kirshenbaum said to expect this in places like my shoulder, my side. I did feel it in my shoulder. I did feel that same strange sensation in my "gullet". The same feeling you get when you've gotten very nauseated and there is nothing left but aches. I use to get a form of that same feeling with heartburn. Calling the doctor is something that is practical. Doing other things like increasing your Water, drink and eat slowly. RELAX! That helps your overall persona. ( I would give it a week, try switching foods, going on liquids, resting more and see how you feel ) Hope this helps. Good luck. -
Hey Laurend. I wouldn't call it pregnant puff but I would call it muffin top. I swelled like someone with a beer gut. You know, high on the stomach? After a couple of weeks it started to go down and it would go down when I rested.

Shrinking Violets -- April 07 Bandsters

This freaked me out. :hungry: All those who cannot stand food touching say "Aye". Aye here. I eat rotating my plate counter clockwise. The most content feeling is when it is just one item I am working on. Mix it up? Gads no! I'm out of the closet now. And here I thought I was the only one with the mixing foods/funny textures/strange discolorations-means-it-goes/and I'm still obese! You all make me feel so very much a part of a very odd family. The Abdomens Family. The exercise routine sounds great, in fact. The band is inside your peritoneal cavity and around your stomach and is unaffected by exercise of any kind. Dr. Kirshenbaum So if you don't feel restricted you might want to try it. For me, it works. Hugs all, </TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE> Great big hug for this one. Here I thought I would damage my band or stomach. I appreciate this. Going to Dr. Kirshenbaum on June 7th for my first fill. -

The no drinking is because it washes food out, but I'm not hungry anyway, so if it washed it out I wasn't concerned for now.. I needed liquid. And the tea is unsweetened! And for those who don't know Incubus, shame on you. They've been around since early 90's.. You've heard their songs if you listen to general radio.. Hope you feel special, I'm looking them up to see which songs were trendy and most people heard.. </TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE> It's Florida where I am. Hot is normal. Drink that water starting right after breakfast, wait about an hour. I carry the 33 oz. bottle of Propel kiwi-strawberry and sip all day. Incubus? You betcha! Anyone going to be at Dr. K's office on June 7th? I'm going for my fill. Woo Hoo! Denver here I came again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Happy Mother's Day Violets! Mothers of babies, mothers for others, and my favorite, mothers to the fur babies. -
Wow. I have no words for this. Strength to you and to your sweet son.

Oh Mal. When it rains it pours. For you I suggest calling Marilyn. Asking her what you should do because the infection in your mouth WILL effect your surgery. I would not back out of the surgery. I know you can't afford it but you can't afford not to. That's just me thinking how much I value my weight loss and how my joints are starting to not hurt and I'm feeling so much better. -
Hudson. I was banded 4/17 in Denver.

OMG! Scared doctor will reprimand me?
Lap_dancer replied to Elee's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Esther I'll bet your wrongs and getting scolded as a child are rearing their ugly heads right now. Seldom have I seen a doctor scold me as a patient. I totally agree with lisah. You aren't the first and won't be the last. You will feel AWESOME when you are sitting in your car after that visit with a new plan, the visit behind you and knowing you have a fresh start to thin. -
I'm trying to take your side seriously and respect the fact that you smoke. I use to smoke so I understand that hankering for a beer and a stogey. The core problem with allowing someone to smoke in an establishment is there is no choice for anyone who doesn't smoke. They can choose to stay away from the smokers but it still filtrates throughtout the room. You can't even sit in another section of a restaurant even on the other side of the building without smoke permeating the room. The ventilation ducts typically act as conductors for smoke. Fair to me is go outside and lightup. Plenty of people do this. No clear evidence. Okay here is a story. My Aunt had heart surgery. My uncle George smoked unfiltered camels. They were married for 40 years. She never smoked a cigarette in her life. When she died from complications, the doctor said she had the lungs of a pack a day smoker they were so black. A reasonable conclusion would be that unfiltered camels were inhaled by my aunt causing disease to develop in her lungs. ................................................................................. Laurend I have told people with B.O. they have a "funk thing going on". I didn't really expect a response. As for the girl who stunk like smoke, if it is a trigger for your asthma, I hope you sat as far away from her as you could. Otherwise, I really wouldn't say anything to a person who smells like smoke. They probably already know this because they just got done having a cigarette.
