The Very Scary Halloween Challenge
I take benadryl when I have the study which the sleep doctor says is OK. My husband says I don't snore at all anymore. I never did stop breathing noticeably to my husband but my earlier study showed I stopped breathing 60-70 times per hour and my oxygen dropped to the 70's. I slept with the nasal pillows, soft cushions that rest against your nostrils, much more comforatble to me than the mask. Wow, a foot smaller in the waist, WTG! Holy smokes, 150# lost! I am impressed!! My weight is 181.6, slowly creeping on down. Have a great weekend! Joan

Did my band slip?
I agree that you should have liquids/mushies only for a few days. Also, add an acid reducer, prilosec, zantzc... My band is currently slipped and deflated awaiting repositioning. I can eat and drink with out pain but have recurring heart burn. Everything is probably fine but really irritated from the vomiting. Best of luck! Joan

The Very Scary Halloween Challenge
Joan checking in at 182.8, a loss of .6. I'll take it! I have done well with some of my goals: walking, limiting ice cream and I did go to the movies once already. I didn't go to the gym at all this past week. I've been focused on getting my miles in for the walking challenge. Have a great weekend! Joan

Hi Chrissy~ My week has been going well. I just finished a 2mile Walk Away the Pounds w/ Leslie Sansone from my dvr, it was great. It is raining here, too. How has your week been? Remember, tomorrow is our weigh in day. Please post your name, real or screen, and your current weight. Our stat keeper Larry will update the chart. How are your goals progressing so far? Give us an update if you have the time. Hope everyone had a great week!!! Joan

December 2010 Bandsters out there?
We have been a quiet group! I went for another check up yesterday, my band is still slipped and I have a hernia. So back to surgery I go. It is tenatively scheduled for December 8th, that's a lot of heart burn to deal with between now and then! Even though my band is completely empty I still feel banded and have a reduced appetite, I guess due to the hernia? Give us all an update and let us know how you're doing! Joan

October 60 Mile Walk Challenge
I was seen by my doctor yesterday and he said the band is still slipped and there is a hernia, too. My band is totally empty for the past 3 weeks. I take pecid 2X daily plus TUMS as needed. My repair surgery is scheduled for 12-8-11. I understand taking your time with fills after your repair. I will be extremely cautious about my future fills and will express this to my doctor and NP! I wish the repair could happen sooner but I will hang in there until I can have it. I still feel restriction so at least I am not gaining weight during this time of discomfort, lol. Joan

Week 2....Lap Band No 2
Glad you're feeling good! How long did you take off work? I haven't had any shoulder pain but for a few weeks I had intense stomach pains in the evenings. My surgery is scheduled for December 8th. My initial lap band was placed December 2, 2011. I live in New Mexico. Where do you live? Joan

October 60 Mile Walk Challenge
I have intentionally gone for walks each day for 2 miles per day. Sometimes I will park extra far at a shopping center or I'll walk up and down every single aisle at Sam's Club or costco. Also at work sometimes I will walk the extra long way around the school building or walk to the farthest bathroom. I have ordered a new pedometer that should arrive soon. It is the kind you carry anywhere on you, a pocket, purse... I hate the kind that is clipped to your waistband! They always fall off on me or reset themselves. Happy walking! Joan

The Very Scary Halloween Challenge
Wow, Larry, you really out did yourself this month! The chart looks fabulous! Thank you!!!! I hope this first week is off to a great start for everyone! I have already had ice cream 2X, so that means only once more for the week. I have walked 2 miles each day. Check out the 60 Miles in October Challenge if you like or want to add walking to your routine. Joan

Week 2....Lap Band No 2
Hello Deb, Glad to hear things are improving for you! My band is currently slipped and I will have a surgery to reposition it as well as fix the stomach pouching/hernia. How is your recovery going the 2nd time around? I don't regret my band, either. I am down 50# since I strated this journey and feel and look so much better! Joan
