  1. Hello and Happy Weighin Day! Joan~ 215.4 (down 1#) finally, lol
  2. Heather, LOL, I can't believe I recognized you! I have a good memory for people in person but you are my first cyber person recognition! Too funny! I wondered about the band getting tighter a week or more AFTER a fill. That is what seems to happen with me. I have more restriction now than I did on Feb. 4th when I had a fill. Amy~ You get stuck every time you eat?! That sounds terrible! I haven't seen that tool and I don't want to, lol. Congratulations! I had a little stuck/spit up yesterday. The strange thing is I am still getting hungry between meals but am in danger of getting stuck if I eat too fast. I think my next fill will put me in the green zone. TGIF, Joan
  3. Hello, Vicky~ You are doing great! Jess~ Yeah on the smaller jeans! Heather~ Did I see you on TV the other night?! Access Hollywood, I think? I had an absolutely horrible stuck episode yesterday! I was eating scrambled eggs on a tortilla, (breakfast burrito). I threw away the excess tortilla and had only a few bites of the breakfast burrito. I vomited 8 times until it was unstuck! It was awful! It last over an hour. I was still able to work all day. I had eaten the exact same thing the day before without any problem. I need to eat a lot slower, sometimes I forget to. I still get hungry but am satisfied with less food than I used to be satisfied with. I am trying to stop eating sweets. TTYL, Joan I
  4. Happy Valentine's Day to all the Sweethearts! Joan~ 216.4 up .4 from last weeks weighin ; ( Good job!! I'd take that pattern, too! Looking forward to when we can congratulate you on 100 pounds lost! Yeah Vicky. Have a good trip. Yahoo! Good job! CONGRATULATIONS on reaching onederland!!! Good for you! Good for you! Keep those weights coming and remember to put your name with your weight to help Lindsey out. Have a great day, Joan
  5. Hello, I know that bread and generally the most common food to get stuck in our pouches. My doctor/nutritionist forbid any carbonated beverages, they can stretch the pouch out and make it like not being banded. Does your doctor/nutritionist allow carbonated beverages? Joan
  6. Hello, I'm happy to see that most of us lost this week and that all of us are heading in the right direction with our motivation, goal setting and attitudes. Keep up the good work! I agree that when we mix things up it keeps our bodies/metabolism guessing. What a fun way to get exercise, share fun with a friend and potentially get rich. too! CONGRATULATIONS on your 50# loss!! That is awesome! Have a great day, Joan
  7. Good Morning! I had my second fill on Friday and my 10cc band now has 6cc in it. I feel some restriction but think I'll still have a little more of a fill and my next appt. on March 4th. I have been keeping up with my exercise. I had a bit too many sweets this weekend. Joan~216.0 How did everyone do this week working towards their February goals? Remember to put your name with your weight to help Lindsey with the tracking. Joan
  8. Hello, I had my second fill on Thursday and am now filled to 6.0 cc in a 10 cc band. I am feeling more restriction but not too much. I have my next fill on March 4th. I think a little more of a fill will put me at my sweet spot/green zone. How's everyone doing? Joan
  9. I hear ya Lindsey. Do you like to walk? Can you walk during a break at work? I sometimes walk for 30 minutes during my lunch break at work and feel so happy when I am done because I not only physically feel good but I know I don't need to try and schedule a work out after work. Do you live close enough to a mall to drive there to walk? That is a fun way to walk, it's climate controlled, they have restrooms , the window displays are entertaining and there is music playing. The malls where I live open early for walkers before the stores open. My sister told me today she has been enjoying a Denise Austen tape with a 12 minute routine that differs each day. I enjoy the Walk Away the Pounds DVD's. Do you have cable or satellite? My cable has an on demand free channel called " Fit TV". It has a lot of different choices of exercises to do. You can even walk, march, leg lift, arm weights... while watching TV. Try to schedule exercise each day like the other things you have to schedule. Even 10 minutes can make a change! Try the old parking farthest away from stores when you shop. That'll be at least 5 minutes in and 5 minutes out. Sometimes when I am shopping at Sam's Club I'll push my cart and walk briskly up and down every single aisle, this takes about 20 minutes. Let me know if any of these ideas seem like something you want to try. Joan
  10. I was instructed by my doctor and used antibiotic ointment on my incisions twice a day while they were healing. I started this after the glue came off. They said to switch to Mederma after the incisions are healed to reduce scaring. Joan
  11. I think 3 kisses every other day is fabulous! When you weigh in each Monday put your name, real or screen with your current weight. Lindsey will take the data and put it on the spread sheet. Lindsey~ Thanks again for doing our stats! It is great to see so many people joining The Sweetheart's Challenge. I think challenges are a fun way to be motivated and to motivate others. Have a great day, Joan
  12. M<y doctor, who has a lap band himself, was ready to fill me even though I was losing like you, he said let's help you along more or something like that. Do you live in an area where you can see another provider? Joan
  13. Interesting. I didn't know they wrapped the band around fat as well as the stomach? I know my NP said that the band often needs more Fluid as weight loss occurs since it has less pressure. I figured it was surrounding fat but I guess it can be fat between the band and the stomach? I am glad to hear you've done so well with such a small amount in your band. I am hoping that my fill Friday will get me to my sweet spot. Joan

  18. I do a 30 minute weight circuit at the gym 2-3 times a week, I walk 2-3 times a week and I ride my exercycle when I want to add something else in. I also use my air climber and do exercise dvd's sometimes.
  19. Hi Ladybug, My surgery was December 2nd. I've lost only 9 pounds since then. I am definetly looking forward to my fill on Friday! When is your next fill scheduled for? I agree that my appetite and capacity are about the same as pre-band. Joan
  20. Hello, I have a 10cc band and have had one fill so far and am now at 4.5cc. I hardly have any restriction. My next fill is Feb. 4th. How many cc's in your band did it take to reach your "sweet spot"? Thanks, Joan
  21. Great job! Thanks Lindsey! Are you up for doing this in February? I hope so! I'll post a new challenge to start on February 1st. Good for you! We'll do this again for February, starting on the first. : ) Yeah! Glad to see so many people had a great week! Let's keep it up for our last week! Joan
  22. Hello, I am in the "I need a fill" group, LOL! I have my second fill scheduled for Feb. 4th. I hardly have any restriction right now and am anxious to get losing some more. I can eat anything I want, just slowly and mindfully. I eat scrambled or fried eggs most mornings. I like the Greek yogurt, too but have it between meals if I am really hungry. I have been exercising most days and journaling. Keep up the good work, Joan
  23. Hello, My doctor does fills under fluoroscope (x-ray). The one fill I had was quick and painless. I could have slept through it it hurt that little. Good luck, Joan
  24. Good job! Thanks for the encouragement! Yahoo! Good job! My fill was a breeze. It was less discomfort than an IV stick or blood draw. Hope everyone is having a good day. I need to make it to the gym this PM. Joan
